No surprise. But riots that destroy cities are mostly peaceful

Um, what? OPP says convoy was labelled a potential national security threat in part because of the "threat to [Canada's] reputation by virtue of coverage in the international media of what was transpiring in Canada."

They’ve started saying shit like this openly in the last few years. It’s confusing because I can’t figure out why they are still allowed to hold office afterwards.

Why even questioning it has to be conferred to dark shadows of the internet and whispers in the night

They discovered an institution that is not yet subverted. It will be shortly.

OPP sent hundreds of officers to Ottawa to help with the crackdown.

What's happening now is that the inquiry into the government response to the Freedom Convoy is garnering far more public attention than the establishment had hoped. Until now, the security services and the media were circling the wagons for Trudeau, but now it seems they've decided to throw him under the bus in order to save their own hides.

I don't understand why they would need to save their own hides. Surely, there's not going to be any accountability, right?

At the time, a Canadian user said: there's going to be an inquiry, and the government is screwed. I said: an INQUIRY? You mean a cover-up. I'm glad if I was wrong.

It was definitely meant to be a cover-up. They even selected a Liberal donor as the presiding judge. But for some reason they decided to open the proceedings to the public, maybe because they thought they could convince everyone how evil the Convoy protesters were. So now people are watching as CSIS and now the OPP have both said they knew the protesters weren't who Trudeau kept saying they were.

So the same logic that thought the Jan 6th hearings would be a good idea?

Well, the inquiry into the Emergencies Act had to take place because the Act itself says there needs to be a public inquiry within a year of the Act being invoked. I don't know if they had to actually broadcast it or if it was a choice, but it's certainly making the government look as incompetent as they really are. They're on the bad end of all of the optics so far.

There will be zero accountability for any of this, anywhere, ever.

Yea the person who wrote this article

Seriously, fuck Trudeau and fuck the Canadian government. Nothing is going to happen from this sadly even though Trudeau should be ousted and stripped of his prime minister title

But... There were non-credible threats! Or, linguistically speaking, in-credible.

INCREDIBLE THREATS HAVE BEEN MADE! ONE MILLION YEARS DUNGEON!

Perhaps the long term answer is the need for the Feds to be able to assume control of the local police force in times of emergency. Any opportunity where partisan considerations can come into play during an emergency is unacceptable. Not necessarily the Emergencies Act that curtails individual rights and freedoms of citizens, but authority over the security establishment to re-establish order.

An emergencies tactical and command structure that is managed and directed by the Feds and can be staffed with Police officers from different forces/divisions and deployed when needed.

God I hate leafs
