Merriam-Webster has been the shit dictionary ever since they defined "literally" as a synonym for "figuratively." Yes, I'm still holding that grudge.

It was Amy Coney Barrett and it was Sexual Preference. Professional race grifter and baby killer Mazie Hirono claimed “sexual preference” was an anti-LGBTLMNOP hate word, so Merriam Webster changed the definition within minutes.

Other than checking for spelling or etymology online, for which I use whatever appears first in my search, I exclusively use The American College Dictionary, published by Random House, copyright 1969.
All contemporary dictionaries bend with the political winds and are totally unnecessary, especially if you reject the current trend of validating woke cant by shoehorning it into the lexicon. It's a tactic used to lend legitimacy to absolute nonsense.
I always like to remind people that judges use dictionary definitions to help them determine what words mean in court.
