So I'm going to go with nothing. They see everything as a threat.
There are people who have always been offering, this isn't nothing new.
Because there's waiting lists and a screening process. They're not just giving out kids to any rando who signs up.

Well people aren't only now adopting kids. That was just a stupid gotcha from these dumbasses. Out of all the Christians I know that want to have kids I'm the only one that doesn't want to adopt
yeah. that's the issue. it's not an authentic conversation.
both sides are both disingenuously using emotional manipulation, straw-manning, and other tactics to get the outcome they want.
both sides realize they hold diametrically opposing core values. Neither side is going to adopt new core values. There is no real compromise to be worked out.
The only relevant question is, "who is stronger?" The side with the power will force the other to comply.
The children they are trying to adopt are babies that will otherwise be murdered. The life is saved and there is minimal baggage because the child is fresh out the womb.
The majority of the children in the system are older and burdened with a lot of baggage, both emotional and legally. Most require extreme amounts of therapy, are a "package" with siblings, and the parents are often in/out causing drama.
I'm sure you can see how these things are nowhere near the same.
What User said. It is a lot harder to adopt than it looks. You need to spend a ton just to get certified to adopt. Then you need court permission to do it. Any child has to be released to the state and then you apply to adopt. There are way more adopters than kids to be adopted.
The state will also pay for the care of the child. So it really is a doable thing.
I've seen 12 year olds with a thousand offers. All of the stories you've heard are not true today.
Remember how the accused ACB of being a slave owner because she adopted some black kids? (Though I do admit, its a bit of a virtue signal to help africans while there are plenty of people in your own nation who need to be adopted).
This is a feature of progressivism, not a bug. Defeat? Double down. Victory? Triple down. Dominate. Marginalize.
There's no sincerity in their arguments either, if you score a point they'll just move the goalposts or ignore it completely. Sometimes, I think they don't even realize they're doing it. The NPC doublethink is just part of who they are now.

conservativessane people shouldn't give an inch either, because 99% of progressives operate in bad faith and are just looking for an opening in your defenses. Strategically, it's vital not to cede ground to those who will never cede ground to you.It makes me sad to say it, but when your country has been successfully infiltrated by communists who want to destroy everything you love, you need to face reality and embrace their tactics.

"We will adopt your baby" is a threat.
"We're coming for your kids," "I'll make your kids trans," "I'm a proud groomer, and I teach your kids, lol," and "we'll turn your kids gay and you'll have to deal with it" are all not threats and, if you have any objections, you're homophobic and transphobic.
Adoption should be a last resource. Parents should not just abandon their children because they don't want them.
