Everyone I game with uses Discord. I hate that program and how so much crap is in a Discord now. They are a bit too normie for me to manage to push them to my own server and I don't play that much anyway. Except for my kid cousin who isn't allowed to use Discord at all because some literal pedos were going after him. We just talk on the phone instead.

Why would anyone use a game company's voice chat instead of something like Telegram where you can talk shit about your friend's Mom in peace?

Last I checked, you could already only use voice chat between party-members anyway, so it was very opt-in to begin with, even compared to other games.
