Agreed, this is absolutely monetary warfare, and not against countries, but on individual people.

There's no real difference between financially attacking people who gave $20 a Canadian Truckers, and an ethnic Russian who's getting kicked from an eSports team. The point is that finance and money has been entirely politicized as a weapon.

I fully expect this to be translated into: "anyone who doesn't agree with (insert latest policy) is a Putin ally and needs to lose their bank account."

Pull your money out of the banks sooner rather than later, or you won't be getting the money at all.

Oh and anyone who doesn't think that all these "digital dollar" rumblings aren't intended to make it even easier to use financial weapons is in for a rude awakening.

Yeah, it's 100% a mechanism of control.

What we're seeing right now is essentially cancel culture on an international scale

Holy shit

Cancel culture might work on individuals, or small groups.

Countries, with armed forces though?

They might see that as a reason to go to war.

I don't like where this is headed.

Stop simping for Russia you the pathetic serf. Their armed forces have been exposed as 3rd world military tier. If they tried to take on any major Western country without using nukes they would get utterly kerb-stomped.

without using nukes

Keep backing them into that corner leaving them no other options but "A world without Russia shouldn't exist" and see what that gets you.

Keep simping for a degenerate mafia masquerading as a state, see where that gets you.

Ah, yes, all of those photos of wrecked tanks with no accompanying video of any actual fighting. Very convincing indeed because I am an idiot you see.

Okay, sure, all the ISIS cave men could get actual footage of them destroying tanks but not Ukrainians. Ukrainians though, nope can only get still photos. Funny how that works.

Funny how that works.

Nah, braindead people regurgitating Russia's drivel about how everything is fake is very normal and not at all funny.

I think that they hope it will cause Russian businesses and wealthy Russians to rebel against Putin.

It's a dangerous game, of course, because it could instead galvanize support for him.

I think the most likely outcome is to galvanize support for him. This can be easily made to be look like an ethnic war against Russians.

He has my vote. Fuck Clown World. I'm already tired of this shit. #LaunchtheNukes so I can be entertained again. I'll gladly celebrate Russia wiping the floor with NATO assets. Any team fighting against the decadent west gets my support.

The left specializes in guilt by association and the fallacy of association. Their goal is always to isolate political and cultural targets. It’s a great way to score political and cultural victories. It’s a horrible way to prevent wars.

From a strict Geo-Political conflict, it's going to be isolating Russian business owners will cause them to have political pressure against Russia. Russia may have a shit load of gold, but not every tycoon and oligarch has a strategic reserve for just this type of warfare.

However, this is a bad thing. If I were Putin, I would be making clear that this is the west waging a race war against Russians generally. That no ethnic Russian is allowed to exist in the west until each ethnic Russian complies with the financial order. And to be honest, it's a valid argument.

Sanctions always come across as a war against the people they are claiming to inspire. I don't think the Sanctions are going to cause Putin to collapse, they might actually be solidifying his power by victimizing all Russians.

Appeals to nationality do not work in Russia that well because we have too many ethnicities

You understand why this sentence means your argument is invalid right ?

Hint : the words "Nationality" versus "Ethnicity".

"Democratic" governments and the "liberal" left in the West are basically just copying the Nazis at this point.

It's not. The rich who would make bank off this already diversified their assets beyond the Ruble. This is just to make it look like they are doing something besides destroying the Russian economy and building a resentment from the Russian people into a new cold war.

"We are not only fighting armies, but a hostile people, and must make old and young, rich and poor, feel the hard hand of war, as well as their organized armies. I know that this recent movement of mine through Georgia has had a wonderful effect in this respect."

Ironically, Mexicans and other illegal aliens send home money they earn to their families in their home countries, and that money enters their economy and can sometimes be taxed if not seized by corrupt bureaucrats.

If they wanted to hurt Russia, they would start sanctioning their only ally: China. Russia has been borrowing money from China for nearly a decade.
