From what I understand where he lived was about 5 minutes from the state line and 20 minutes from Kenosha. That entire argument is designed to mislead people into thinking he came from far away when it was actually a shorter trip than the average commute.
Not that it even matters to the question of whether or not Kyle acted in self-defense.
His father and father's family lived in Kenosha. So he lived there at least part time as well as worked in Kenosha.
Didn't his assailants travel from further away?

That's the exact same hypocrisy they use with Trump. People will claim they don't like how he divides people and makes them angry, and then talk about how the right-wing deplorables and fascists need to be rounded up. Like him or hate him, Trump brought together a coalition of disaffected voters by telling them what they wanted to hear. Dividing people is the last thing he wants to do. He gets down in the mud with his opponents but basically only attacks people who attacked him first. Meanwhile the other side torches cities and calls it a Summer of Love.
