That's absolute insanity. Why would you tax your own economy like that!?

Only reason I can think of - more of a fig leaf, really - is to reduce US emissions by removing US industry.

I support the idea of outsourcing everything to China and then nuking China to solve climate change.

The ‘stated’ idea is that Biden is working with countries around the world to have the entire world raise the corporate tax rate. If that were possible, though I wouldn’t want the money going to the government, you could argue some merits for it. The main problem is that it’s not going to happen though. It’d just be us raising it and people outsourcing. As if China and other countries are going to turn down the opportunity to continue taking all the business out there.

This reminds me of Obamacare. Although I’d prefer all healthcare being private and removing nearly all regulations to bring prices down because that’d work, you could argue the merits of healthcare being entirely run within boundaries to keep things fair and affordable because in many cases it’s not a normal free market situation. Then he passes a bunch of bullshit and companies react as you would expect and now we have worse healthcare and we have middle class people paying more for degenerates and having to pay more for themselves on top of that to receive inferior care.

Idea works in the abstract if all the stars align and everyone involved is a saint. What do you know, they didn’t and everyone’s a human being that responds to incentives.

The US has been a foreign banker tax slave farm since the 1860s, every cent of our income taxes goes in the banker's pockets.

The solutions are simple and clear.

, the goal of which is to make American companies and workers more competitive. ...These include: 1. Raising the corporate income tax rate to 28 percent;

Yikes.

I'd be interested to hear the Biden administration's justification for this. Other than "Pooh ordered it", of course.

On the face of it, I can't think of another country that's made a conscious decision to sacrifice their own industry to bolster another's in this fashion.

Also, a point to note: Do you think Chinese production is going to be as efficient or as environmentally friendly as US production?

Desperate bids to make globalism happen despite every single indicator the 20+ year shift towards that has been a complete fucking disaster for everyone involved.

You know, like how we have a massive supply chain crunch and almost-failure every single day and it's been that way for months? But supply chain failure is GOOD for, uh....well, not nature...or America...or the countries we do trade with...or the American people....or the economy....

BUT GLOBALISM IS THE ONLY WAY! WHY WOULD YOU PRODUCE YOUR OWN PRODUCTS IN YOUR COUNTRY WHEN WE--I mean you--CAN PAY A CHINESE KID 3 CENTS AN HOUR FOR YOUR TOILET PAPER!! ANTI-GLOBALISTS ARE RACISTS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Absolutely not, which is ironically why America should manufacture everything in-state that we offshored to elsewhere and continue to produce our own coal.

The Made In America Tax Plan, U.S. Department of the Treasury, April 2021, p. 4 (I think), https://home.treasury.gov/system/files/136/MadeInAmericaTaxPlan_Report.pdf

One of the most important objectives of the Made in America tax plan is to reduce incentives for the offshoring of American jobs while also limiting the ability of corporations to take advantage of corporate tax loopholes to shift their profits to low-tax jurisdictions.

the plan will raise the corporate tax rate from. 21% to 28%, and the eliminate exemption of the guest 10% of foreign profits.

TLDR: we will incentivize corporations to on shore assets by taxing them more and also taxing their foreign assets more.

Sounds like you’re asking them to just leave entirely???? Wtf is this shit???

You can attempt to read through it here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-concurrent-resolution/5/text#toc-H6B5E73D72EE34C31809458EB3A057A3A

Didn't find the tax hike for American businesses, though.

This is what I've been thinking. They were hoping to collapse the economy in 2020 and it turned out to be more resilient than they thought. Now they have to come up with a bunch of extra garbage to try and catch up with their plan.
