Not going to give bbc traffic. What is the short version? Misoginy, toxic masculinity?
"Waaaaaahhhh give wymyn money because we don't leech enough already!"
BBC is UK government funded feminist propaganda - unfortunately nothing you can do can impact them financially unless you are in the UK
Also racist and also also climate change
Clearly the only way to get more women in gaming is to make sure everyone's vaccinated
Because they're not interested in competitive gaming. There's only like 2 women in esports that maybe deserve any respect, and that's because they were grinding their way into being good hosts/commentators for years before esports were lucrative. Sheever with Dota and Soe with Starcraft
And 98-99% of women don't have the reflexes even if they were interested
They're not interested in competitive anything...
They're interested in where the finish line is so they can fuck the winners.
Wtf why are we sharing direct links to BBC??

Because back before the prize pools were huge and dwarfed even their ill-gotten gains from OnlyFans, making them extremely jealous and feel entitled to that cash, they thought that e-sports were dumb and for nerds who can't get laid.
Of course, now it's an industry, they want in so they can slowly take over and kill it, while taking in all the cash they can in the process.
It could partly be 'they can get rich from OF'
But we don't see women beat men in any field - grandmaster chess is 99.9% male
No money in it, and no chance to harm people the way they like to.
I can just see it now. Some e-sports team lets a woman in and she accuses their entire squad of raping her while she slept, then demands that they hire more women to chaperone her.
Women only said stuff like that because they suck at games and got their asses handed to them any time a guy wasn't going easy on them.
Most girls from a young age found out they couldn't compete with guys on that front and quickly decided to shun the whole topic.
Now that modern games are much more dumbed-down and are made to cater to a female audience... you still don't see them coming back because they still can't compete.
lol.
Because the overwhelming majority of aspiring esports stars never make any money, and women are less inclined to bet everything on a career where only the top 100 people in the world are going to make a living wage. It's the same risk aversion that is responsible for there being so few female Bitcoin millionaires.
I think describing women as financially risk averse is a stretch. There's a ton of risk in blowing all your money on stupid shit you don't need.
Use archive.is instead of linking to woke web sites.
Questionable stuff about the reporter here (From Raise the Bar
The director and producer has an IMDb page as does the executive producer - both recent entries into the world of producing content and both women.
I don't want to mention the BBC's 21 year old show called Click or Channel 4's 22 year old show called Bits too much but there was plenty of women in gaming and technology being shown on TV long before this fashionable hit piece.
Perhaps this is just a woke piece being selective about which facts it presents and not showing the full story as to why female gamers don't rank as well as male ones.
This gets so annoying. Like other certain hobbies video games is something that generally attracts more men than women. Why they see this as an issue just shows how they have zero interest in gaming and just want to peddle an agenda.
they suck.
Because they aren't as good, on average, and this becomes more obvious at the extremes of professional competitive gaming.
If Esports were full contact, people might give a shit.
Because they can't use their pussies to win in LoL.
Because women rarely play video games competitively at a consistent enough level to warrant attention from pro teams and when they do they are often unable to work as a team at an efficient enough level to compete with highly organized, all-male teams?
Oh god no -
It will be mocked and watched by nobody, but they will demand 100% of the prize pool as men.
And within a month it will be dominated by 'trans women'
Nah. Keep it as-is. Anyone up to snuff can make it. Then you get to have trannies and watch lefties fight over "no women" or "transwomen are women". Bonus points for shit like this happening to "professional" women. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnoLMiAUC_I
Giving transsexuals preferential treatment over honest men will not solve anything.
It pretty much is already. They have lots of female only tournaments.
Your assessment is actually correct.
Quantic Foundry found that the games women play least are competitive games: https://quanticfoundry.com/2017/01/19/female-gamers-by-genre/
They prefer social games.
Actually both, but the former more than the later (that's where a lot of Facebook's gaming spend came from... female housewives in the middle-age range).
I agree.
In competive gaming, its based on pure skill. Competitive FPS, strategy games or fighting games all depend on merit.
I notice girls tend to play among us or serial killer type games like f13. They like to play games where they can use their mouths. Mouths as in to talk. To manipulate and talk their way out of things.
Competitive gaming.. you cant talk your way out of being headshotted or talk your way out of having reavers dropped onto your scv's.
I'd really like to reiterate that the competitors themselves are going to be men from the most competitive end of the scale. These are the kind of guys that will look for any advantage- mechanical, mental, strategic, statistical.
In these spaces you are regarded as purely competition, so girl advantage is less than useless against these guys. You will even have your girl-advantage used against you if that's an option or path to victory.
I think there's often a fundamental misunderstanding of competition at high levels of play and the surrounding culture: all the beef, insults, bad behaviour etc are often a form of mind games where the goal is to gain mental advantages rather then insult or retaliate against a perceived slight. There will be rivalries, but when the prize money is on the line, it's not about getting personal.
The highest tiers of players all know each other and their typical behavioural patterns/strategies, so the mental component is a necessary tool for changing the expected outcome of a match in their favour.
