Paypal shuts down conservative, veteran-owned company FakeMaskUSA – freezes nearly $100k in their money (www.lawenforcementtoday.com)

I don't get why people keep using PayPal, but I especially don't get why they don't learn from the mistakes of others that have been burned. If you absolutely must use it (and you don't) then attach the PayPal account to its own dedicated checking account and get that money to an account unaffiliated with PayPal ASAP except a small amount to cover any returns.

Those fucking boomercons wore their masks incorrectly (nose exposed or under the chin) and got kicked out for that reason.

I really doubt that's what happened. The poll watchers' crime was letting themselves get kicked out, and thinking the police would help them get back in. (they didn't) I remember one woman did stand up to them, but the poll manager threatened her with violence.

EFT/ACH. I don't get the fascination with credit cards. With eft, companies legally can't fuck with you the same way they do with credit cards. Similar to how landline phone companies can't censor you the way Facebook chat can. The old tech isn't nearly as susceptible to modern whims of bias.

Thanks! Would this basically be the same thing as an "e-check"?

The boomercons, ugh. I wish they weren't so ignorant, but "if wishes were fishes..."

The thing that annoys me is it's almost as if it's a willful ignorance. Twitter's boomercons aside, I got a real taste of that late last year. This private firing range I'm a member of sent out the agenda for their yearly meeting and one of the items was a vote on doing away with the required National Rifle Association membership to join. Not two or three days later they send emails out to everyone making it clear they loooove America and looooove the Second Amendment and loooove the NRA and all the good, honest work it does to pRoTeCt ThE fReEdOm of all Americans to shoot guns. The range completely backtracked from even having a vote and groveled, explaining how they hated even having to consider it but the insurance rates were so expensive and they were 100% committed to the NRA and what it does to "protect" gun owners.

A gigantic crock of baloney if you've done even the slightest bit of research on that sorry excuse of a protector of the 2nd Amendment. The slightest bit.

The boomercons have their goddamn heads in the sand and they don't know and most of all don't care they're buried in sand. This is in a rural area in the Southern US so God only knows how awful it is elsewhere.

What a joy to know that's today's Right-wing America.

They just have to shut down the crypto to legal tender pipelines, which is a lot simpler.

There needs to be an authoritative guide written that deals with these topics. It would be ideal if Andrew Torba were to write it, but barring that, I'd be happy to throw a quick post together.

Then, that guide needs to be distributed everywhere.

The problem with the dissident sphere is that all good info is so scattered, and also that all the websites are ephemeral forums focused on "news" rather than repositories of knowledge focused on practical advice.

Any advice you have to offer would be appreciated, since you seem to be one of the most knowledgeable guys in this thread.

I especially don't get why they don't learn from the mistakes of others that have been burned.

Information in our space is very poorly distributed. Many business-owners may have not even heard of these cases.

If you absolutely must use it (and you don't) then attach the PayPal account to its own dedicated checking account and get that money to an account unaffiliated with PayPal ASAP except a small amount to cover any returns.

This is a great recommendation.

Do you have any recommendations for other services?

Do you have any recommendations for other services?

As far as payment processors?

There is Cornerstone, a Christian payment processor that might be willing to get behind this, though they have a bit of a checkered past with data security.

There are the mainstream Stripe, Square and smaller ones like Shopify Payments and FastSpring that are either definitely or likely run by regressives, but at least have less of a history of running off with money and act as a check on PayPal's market dominance.

Checks, money orders, and bank transfers are a PITA for customers and businesses, but might be the way forward for avoiding regressive censorship. It's probably a good idea to have a backup plan involving them if nothing else.

There really is no perfect solution, but just not using PayPal is a start.

There's also Dan Bongino's AlignPay, though I haven't seen it being used anywhere and don't know how reliable they are yet because it's pretty new.

Poop Senders is my favorite gag product site. Never used them (and not sure if it is strictly legal due to the potential health concerns), but it's surprisingly comforting to know that if I ever need to send someone "3 pounds of steamy elephant poop" to people, I know who to contact.

So they shut it down because it gives people fake noncomplying masks (although I dont know what that technically is, that appears to be the reason that paypal went full gestapo on this business).

Now how are they different from someone witb a regular gaiter that does almost nothing anyways? Idk. Should these be ILLEGAL? idk, they should have a warning that they are not medically approved, and that they're gag items, and that shoukd cover most legal issues.

According to Moneymaker, he and 11 of his friends created a 12-member fantasy sports league for the 2020 NFL season. Each person put up $1,000 prior to the season, which was placed in a PayPal account held by Moneymaker.

Last November, PayPal placed a hold on the account for violating its 'User Agreement". Moneymaker said that after six months of hearing nothing from PayPal, he sought to resolve the matter

The tech tyrant said "no," and refused to return the money, thereby confiscating it.

One of the amounts seized was $550,000, all seized by PayPal with nary an explanation and no chance to argue their case. Peters told us there isn’t even anyone to contact to contest the seizure.

That SHOULDNT be legal. At ALL...

By way of information, PayPal’s User Agreement is 68 pages long. There is an accompanying Acceptable Use Policy which is only two pages long, however details activities prohibited by PayPal.

Another thing that SHOULD be illegal.

Sounds like a good lawsuit against deep pockets. Maybe some free notoriety as well.

I was actually going to try to get my hands on something like that so I could burn up my airline credits. Maybe they will take crypto or something if they are actually shut down from payment processors.

Oh, and I've hated PayPal for 15 years at least. Their terms of service are a total disaster for any sort of thinking the money is yours.

There needs to be a quick-and-ready guide for people seeking to set up a new business, who want it to be secure and have ownership of their own funds.

They probably just thought they could start a business and run it like anyone else using the most convenient and popular tools.

They could have been smarter, but I don't blame them - it's the system that's fucked up. And we haven't really built alternatives yet, and those that do exist, the masses haven't heard about or don't know how to use.
