Google and Apple should be forced to change. They are colonizers, using their illegal trust powers to act like a cabal that favors friendly companies over competitors, based on arbitrary rules they can change whenever they please.
Don't know about groups, but artists are pushing back. Female mangaka pushed back at the UN wanting to censor manga, and the author of Love Hina did some push back recently.
Companies are being purchased by China, or becoming more globally oriented (Sony), which is driving them to less focused on what Japan wants. There still are aim their products primarily at a Japanese audience, but globalization is still taking effect in the country.
Not sure what I want more, Japan closing off even more from the international market, or becoming much better at selling direct, without westerners getting involved.
I think there was a politician that ran on the platform of protecting anime and manga and fighting censorship. Not sure how successful he was though. And yes a lot of mangakas are fighting against this as well

'06 We still had ADV pushing out their decent dubs but with random budget titles. Bandai holding onto the Gundam/Giant Mecha market with a death grip. Then Pioneer/Geneon concentrating on quality, but overspending on every license.
Now all of that has pretty much been eaten up by Funimation, with Sentai being the bastard offspring of ADV picking up the scraps.
I have already said it, but I will say it again: the US is the biggest menace to Humanity nowadays. Its massive military and mediatic complex pollutes everything, everywhere.

I'd love to go back 15 years where the west gets anime from bad dubs and sketchy illegal websites. Those were better days for anime.

The military is especially bad for Japan. Japan got fucked militarily by the treaties after WWII. The US still has military bases there today.
