I’m so happy to see parents fighting this. I’m all for learning about history. America had good and bad history like every other country. Holding America to some ridiculous impossible standard does no good and teaching kids to obsess over race has a massive fallout.

The good is never, ever mentioned.

I took an American History class in, God help me it's true, a Historically Black College! St Phillip's community college (in San Antonio, Texas) is the only campus in the Alamo community college district that had the biology classes for my major.

Whew! that was the red pill that 'dinged' me away from being a FoodNotBombs, anti-War peace marching, Esperanza Peace and Justice Center activist!

The professor told the class, "are the Spanish White? Wellll, some say yes and some say no but I will tell you this! They did take part in the Inquisition!"

My naive Democrat butt, one of 4 White students in the class, spoke up, "waitaminute, are you saying that White people are the only ones that kept slaves?"

Some big o Black girl in the back of the class, "Yaaassss!!!!"

Everyone laughs.

Professor F, not thinking I'd say anything, "Well, (hems and haws, doesn't really answer question) ...but you'll learn more about that higher up in your education."

That pill...took about 2-3 years to digest. This was about 13 or 14 years ago. Before all this stuff became mainstream. Sadly, I guess, I was shown what was to come early on because of that experience.

But yeah, when Trump or anyone else gives funds to "Historically Black Colleges"...that's exactly what they're teaching. That only White people can be racist. That America is a fundamentally racist country. Etc.

Later on in that class the same Black girl is talking to another student and going, "you should take Prof F's Black history class he really goes off!" One of the other White guys in that class says from across the room, "yeah, I wonder what he says in that class." Just to show that yes, he was there listening and was aware of the racism going on.

Crazy times. Personally, I think it's China that's behind this. They certainly benefit from igniting ethnic identity in a demographically multicultural country.

I was listening to one of Thomas Sowell’s books and he was talking about the history of slavery in the world. Every race has been enslaved or has enslaved. It’s a shame that professor you had is allowed to teach this garbage. Blacks in the US have it better than anywhere else in the world. But that is a pesky fact I guess

I finished Basic Economics and am now in the middle of Intellectuals and Society.

The intellectuals he speaks of are totally clown world people. They can be dead wrong about something and not lose ANY reputation, but if they get something right they just have to tell everyone.

They also surround themselves with others like themselves, and they don't have to answer for their failed ideas when other people implement the policies they influence.

I hate that Sowell isn’t more well known. But they give so attention to Kendi and Coates.

Funny, I was looking through some pics and just saw a Sowell quote about slavery. https://ibb.co/2K36gnQ

What book was it, do you remember? I'd like to listen as well.

Best comment I saw from him was pointing out that slavery based on race is incredibly unusual - most of the history of slavery they didn't have the technology to travel far enough to find someone of another race.

So if you think about it, it really is white peoples' fault.

If it weren't for white people stopping the practice of slavery, the practice would be normalized and no one would be complaining about it. If the Brits didn't show up with guns in Africa and say "stop taking slaves, Africano", no one would think there was something wrong with slavery.

Every complaint about slavery can really be traced back to being the fault of white Europeans. Dang.

I think it is from Black Rednecks an White Liberals. I’m pretty sure because it was an excerpt and I went out and bought the book because of it.

Hell, they're going so far that they are arguing that there isn't even a Bailey.

Literally, "Shut up you fucking racists. Critical Race Theory isn't even taught in schools."

It's all obfuscation of their position.

The good news is that no matter what they say, they are very clearly on the defensive with this issue. The only reason you conceal your position is because you've been caught out in the open.

Enemy action is relevant. Enemy rhetoric is not.

And this tactic they have of acting like CRT isn’t real or isn’t being pushed is absurd.

If it is not being taught, then they wont mind if we ban it and give prison sentences to any teachers caught teaching it. Right?

It's like Antifa. Officially, it's just a concept, an idea that doesn't exist. But designate that non-existent concept to be a real terror organization and they can't stop complaining about how real it is.

Why even focus on racism and slavery to begin with?

What you focus on has a way of getting bigger.

You're feeding oxygen to it.

And anyways, CRT is utter bullshit as White people are damn near the only ones that have freed slaves in the world!

Hell, even Washington Post said as much:

Map, because f*** giving WaPo more clicks! https://ibb.co/2h78896

Wonder what their position on this issue is today?

Leftists know that conservatives love to argue about semantics and principles so they keep them distracted with that by changing both to keep the conservatives chasing a moving target, never allowing them to get to the heart of the issue.

Vaush is a master of this. He'll come out with a set of closely held definitions and principles that his views are supposedly based on, and if that line of argumentation isn't working, he'll just pull out an entirely new set even if they are completely contradictory to what he was originally arguing.

Stop arguing with leftists about definitions. They will change them on you. Stop arguing with them about principles because they have none.

WRONG.

Wrong, all wrong.

"We're not teaching critical race theory."

"Yes, and we're banning it to make sure it stays that way. If you aren't teaching it then you have no objection to us making sure people don't start teaching it."

being centrist on this issue is exactly what makes the method work so well. "we SHOULD teach about how slavery was so horrible ohhh :((( but no CRT that's a step too far!" and so you get stuck in this hellhole we call modern ""politics"", a tornado tarpit of constant inescapable fucklity.

the solution? well, if they're going to call and treat you like a nazi anyway, maybe there's something to it...

Nah. Then they say "CRT is just anti-racism, are you against being anti-racist? That makes you a racist" and you're the one who starts sputtering because decades of indoctrination have established being racist as worse than being a child fucker.
