When they are more outraged about the death of drugged out career criminal than about the thousand of mostly innocent blacks butchered every year by other blacks, I am not as optimistic.
Reality ain't got nothing to do with it. It is about what they can exploit and what they cannot. They will pretend to care about anything that they can exploit. That is why they cared for a grand total of one week about Jazmine Barnes, until it turned out that the killer was black, and the whole story was memoryholed.
Even when it turned out that Barnes was killed by a black man, the journalist Shaun King (who, by the way, framed a white man for the crime who later committed suicide) commented that it doesn't change the fact that he thought it was possible that a white man was the killer.
If you want people to care about murders, you need to make them believe that Whitey dunnit. Have you heard of 2-year-old Julian Gonzales? Neither has anyone else.
Another good example of their selective outrage is David Dorn. I asked one of the folks supposedly outraged about Floyd's OD about Him and they looked at me like I'd grown an extra arm. It's fucking pathetic. They neither know, nor care about anything that isn't spoon fed to them by "approved sources".

That's odd. There's a law against shooting people in the head. There should really be armed professionals whose job it is to enforce such laws as "don't shoot people in the head."
But if the Bri'ish police carried the guns they need to stop certain violent crimes before innocent victims suffer, they wouldn't be able to virtue signal about how much more civilized their police forces are than in the US.
All Europeans virtue-signal about that, including countries where you have the military policing their capital city due to the threat of terrorism from Peacefuls (which I support, by the way).
