Women have always been treated at least slightly better due to being seen CORRECTLY as a resource. They have always been treated well compared to men but they have never been treated this well.
Feminism advocates for women's superiority by proclaiming women are born equal to men, thus men never being able to give society the same value as a resource, men will inevitably be treated more inferior than they have ever been treated. When women are "born equal to a man", they are essentially treated almost like a deity because they will have the value of men plus the value of a resource.
Men growing up & not giving the same resource value as women will be seen as defective. Men will have to be cogs in the machine, just to measure up.

Men were not always this weak to women though. In the past women knew their place and were kept there by men, now there is no correction at all from the men.

Dowries
A dowry was paid by a bride’s father. It was a token of gratitude and resource sharing, plus it severed the woman’s interest in her father’s estate because at common law a woman couldn’t own property. It wasn’t some simp buying a woman.
I believe Dowries went both ways, depending on the culture in question.
For most western nations yes they were MEANT to, but very rarely did the wife's family pay dowry to the male. Especially if the male was poorer than the entire family the wife came from.
Asbangbus said, it was effectively a gratitude token and a legal seperation of daughter from estate, with the amount being sent in dowry her equivalent worth or cut of the estate.
If the male was poorer, that dowry either didn't get paid or the marriage didn't go ahead for "reasons" (ooh no I conve ient she's gone to a nunnery!), this was to prevent lazy male leeches attaching to the family estate.
It worked to both hobble thots and simps from the off.

I've got to disagree.
To put it in computer terms.
Hardware = the processor, motherboard, gpu, etc.
Firmware = the lowest level software
Software = what runs on top of the hardware+firmware (linux, macOS, android, windows, whatever)
Very different software can run on the same hardware+firmware, yet all software must share certain constraints and attributes that are limited or allowed by the layers below them.
For humans, the hardware is the body, the firmware is neuro-brain-gunk, and the software is experiences, learning, social demands, etc.
Essentially the same hardware+firmware can support software--societies--that range from Mongolian warriors to Tibetan Buddhists to British Puritans to African hunter gatherer tribes to whatever.
Don't downplay the evolutionary aspect or the biological aspect of things. Human males seem to have some basic need to protect "their" women. The modern definition of "their" seems to be white knighting for social media influencers..
