I can't even recall a "hate crime" in recent memory that wasn't a fake.
I live in an old boomer filled rural city and blue haired women are barely a notable sight. No one will change how they view you on it. I'd imagine Portland has more crazy colors than natural ones to drive that needle even further.
Based on that (and her title instead of the Twitters) I'd put all my money on it being her personality that made every go bad, if it even did.

They're so obvious about it too. They can't help themselves and all of their bullshit stories are way too on the nose. I'm only surprised that she didn't say he was wearing a Hawaiian shirt to top it off.
Things that didn't happen.
When you get outside of certain areas in Portland, you find fairly right leaning folks. I found a great gun store in Milwaukee. A lot of the folks are hoping the vaccine makes the governor will let them go, because right now it feels like the entire state is under hostage by her.
I live right outside of Portland and to call me fairly right leaning is a Stacey Abrams sized understatement. And there a lot of us.
It is true we feel held hostage by Kate Brown. She is a witch.
The same is true for the Washington Governor. Especially if you don't live in King County.
I think a lot of the rioting is an excuses to get out of the house and deal with the anxiety. The governors are just aiming them at targets is all.
Once you're in a different time zone, I think it's safe to say you're no longer in Portland in any meaningful way.
Portland is sort of a weird nexus of time and space in and of itself. I was in Oregon City on Saturday, and the city looks like it did when I was a kid. Even down to the hobby and antique shop I was working in. The elevator nearby has hologramic displays showing old photos.
That sounds pretty cool. Probably some nature up in the PAC NW

I live in a city. In my neighborhood normal fucking people don't wear a mask outside. They wear them in stores as required. I went to visit another yuppier neighborhood. Masks on outdoors everywhere.

I had an older woman flirting with me and some 40+ blue haired twunt walked by and I said something about how childish it is for a woman her age to dye her hair.
The flirt immediately stopped and walked away. Sad!
Oh, maybe the older flirt had grey hair, and dyed it a normal colour, and took your comment the wrong way?
(I know I don't plan on dying my grey away. If I can cadge senior's discounts a year or two early without getting carded, great! :))
