that's the one, lol.

it's okay, more of a light-hearted time-waster than something I'd pour hours into, but it's fun enough for what it is.

not yet, I suspect she either shows up randomly or else late stage in the game, though, and I haven't played that far.

well, one that popped into my head was a book in the Magic of Xanth "trilogy," by Piers Anthony. the book in question is Faun & Games, and if the title didn't clue you in, this is a world infested in puns, so you've been warned.

Basically the faun (think saytr, but not violent and rapacious) in question has to go to a moon orbiting the head of a sorceress, and then to another, and another, and another...(you get the idea) to find someone to replace a fellow faun and friend of his who was swallowed whole by an inescapable abyss to save his lost friends' tree.

Fair warning, the series is a bit on the risque side, though it steers clear of overt sex scenes, although the book has more than its fair share of titillating moments...

Now...why am I skeptical that this is totes reel yo' and not somebody coaching the AI to get the desired outcome for attention?

depends on how broad of a comparison you want. The whole "worlds within worlds within worlds" concept has been around for decades, if not centuries.

This is why they're losing though...

As they get more and more extreme, much like a certain children's amusement device spinning faster and faster, more and more people get thrown off, until no one's left (no pun intended)

the world wars really fucked a lotta people up. there was this attitude that through technological advancement, humanity would transcend our frailties, and well...nothing is ever that simple, but a lot of people couldn't accept that, so they swung in the other direction, basically deciding humanity was too sick to survive in its current form (see dadaism in art as an example). we're not on the third or forth generation of people bent on either transforming humanity or wiping it out entirely.

now that's a novel concept; finding a compromise between our base instincts and our higher selves. (for the record, I'm not being sarcastic.)

It makes sense on another level, because this country was founded on compromise. The Articles of Confederation were an unqualified failure, so the Continental Congress got to work, hammering out a new agreement, arguing and no doubt nearly coming to blows, but working out a compromise everybody could agree upon, even if reluctantly.

Hell, even the Declaration of Independence was signed when it became clear that the Crown was uninterested in hearing the Colonists out and instead demanded they be crushed under booted heel.

hard to believe, but she was actually pretty good looking at one point. . I mean, we're talking butterface, but yeah.

(and pretty based as well)

even in western stuff, I'd say there's nuance. If there's a story, for instance, that uses the trope of the "misunderstood demons" to push DEI bullshit, yeah, i'd say steer clear. (99% percent of the time, that's what's going on today)

But if it's just somebody trying to tell an interesting story, then it might be okay.

Generally speaking, it depends on the thrust of the story in question; is this person trying to push an agenda, or are they trying to tell an interesting (if controversial) story?

I'd say this election can't get any weirder, but I don't want to challenge Almighty Kek...no telling what he'll pull out of his ass...

I think our thoughts run parallel, although I think we look at it only slightly different I'd love to hear your thoughts on my own screed on this topic.

a broke clock is right twice a day

In this, Cardi B is correct, although probably not in the way she thinks she is...

"Compassionate" programs like section 8 housing and foodstamps deprive humans of the most powerful motivator for self-improvement; survival. Some people are strong enough that they'll get off these programs as quickly as possible, and some will say "eh, this is good enough for me," and stay on those programs for the rest of their lives, rather than attempt to do better for themselves. Mankind's nature need to conserve resources during times of plenty will in this environment actually work against him/her, and over time, a culture of dependence develops in these communities, as those who accept them as the best they can get, or "good enough" filter into these communities, and they stagnate. You have the rare social mutation, of course, as the community that depends on such programs to survive will slowly get worse and worse, causing those who are closer to the other end of the spectrum begin to find their circumstances intolerable and attempt to find a way, any way to improve their station in life (including crime). Others within the community can and often do attack such individuals both verbally and socially (an example of this within urban black communities is accusing those that study and work hard as "acting white" or "trying to be white")

Cardi B is fortunate in that her parents encouraged her to do better, to seek a better life, and that they themselves set an example she could observe, however many in these communities are not so fortunate.

They dislike sexualized characters, because they're told they're supposed to.

They like playing as sexualized characters, because gaming is, and always has has been, escapism. The fantasy doesn't have to be realistic to be enjoyable. I'll never be a six-foot-one He-Man built like a brick shithouse, and I've made peace with that, but it doesn't mean I don't enjoy the fantasy.

Social pressure versus human nature.
