For anyone who missed the story, here's Snopes begrudgingly admitting what Elon musk said is true, though nitpicking the finer points here and there. The short version, though, is that the OPM can only process around 10k applications a month, because all the records and all the processing is done in an old mine shaft in pennsylvania, and the bottleneck is moving paperwork up and down the mineshaft via elevators.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against keeping paper hard copies of important documents, including personnel and retirement documents, but why is that the only way the documents can be processed, and why aren't there digital and other analog formats retained there as well!?! Why isn't there an active effort to a) dig a new shaft for servers and b) start digitizing files for faster access times?
It gets even dumber, because even with a fully-hard-copy-only system, it's not hard to figure out that the guy who's in his sixties and been overlooked for promotion four or five times in a row already is liable to retire soon, so why aren't they preemptively getting the paperwork ready and organized for likely retirees ahead of time, so they can be processed more quickly when that time comes!?!
given the political landscape of the last six months to a year (maybe longer?), both in the U.S. and abroad, is it time for people who aren't ashamed to express right leaning viewpoints to begin retaking their rightful place in the digital public square?
I understand the hesestince and disgust with the censorship and other nefarious tactics of mainstream platforms like facebook, youtube, and hell, even reddit, but the normies don't exactly come to places like minds, dot win, etc unless they're eyes have been forced open like many of us have. I also suspect that these companies are keenly aware of which way the wind is blowing and would very much like to weather the political shitshow that is such a major paradigm shift in politics.
Timing would be key, of course, but do you think we're getting close to such a singularity?

...my fuckin thumb is killing me...😆
don't have the callouses like I used to, i guess.
they all seem to have relatively strong/square jawlines, to the point of being semi-masculine. Don't misunderstand, all these women are absolutely beautiful. hell, i've been tempted to simp for kari lake more than once myself, and she's a little bit older than my mother.
It's just fascinating that a forum that by and large advocates for traditional femininity tends towards women with slightly more masculine faces in their preferences.

What might we have done in the early days to generate a more vigorous immune response had we known what was coming?
One thought might have been to call politicians and companies and make sure they understand in no uncertain terms our opposition to this kind of nonsense. Make fun of it sure, but doing so while providing clear, concise breakdowns of what's wrong with the arguments would be another good point.
that old communist bulletin from the 40s makes its rounds every once in a while about mislabeling opponents as NAZIs and bigots, but what if a similar bulletin had made the rounds at the same time among their opponents, warning them exactly how they would try to discredit them?
We should make a list of probably strategies that these parasites will use and suggest effective countermeasures based on our own experiences in gamergate, etc. and pass them onto our Japanese friends through whatever channels we might have.

Style: children's picture book.
target audience : normie adults who don't get what the fuss is all about
Plot: read "The Emperor's New Clothes," and take a wild, crazy guess.

By that I mean changing all the passwords and refusing to disclose them in a desperate gamble to 'win.'
