It's especially aggrieving in Poland, where 3 million polish jews where killed IN ADDITION to the 3 million NON-jewish Poles. In Poland, a Jewish Pole is Polish first, jewish second. 6 million Poles got whacked and nobody gives a fuck. When the Poles attempt to show how horrible this event was for them, they are informed that it was 80 years ago and it's time to let go. OH REALLY!? are ya' sure that's the line you wanna go with...

there is a lot of money to made off of peoples desperate unhappiness if you can just convince them that it's their body which is the problem and not what they are doing with it.

I wonder what they mean by bland or boring...not partying all the time? holding down a job, being responsible? Thoughtful about the future? Not criminal nor prone to bursts of violence?

Yeah there could have been 1 or 2. The isles were connected to the roman empire both east and west through trade and even through the majority of north africa and the middle east were white at this time, it's possible for a small number of subsaharan slaves or merchants to have made their way to britain. Like I said: 1 or 2. No more. Not enough to justify the casting choices of globohomo media makers.

I dream of a reconquest of Constantinopolis ALL the time. The issue is, as much as I would like to see it given back to the greeks, my experience with the greeks (ie: my family) is that they honestly shouldn't be trusted with anything through sheer governmental incompetence.

What a delightful fellow. I feel like he ought to decorate a lamp-post. Unfortunately, Poland has a unitary Parliament and the power is overly concentrated in the Sejm. Even More unfortunate, most poles are stupid about firearms--many love them, few want to see their natural right to possession and self-defense honoured. I'm afraid that seeing justice against the political class done will never happen. Szkoda.

neither of which is very brown. Actually, during winter and when they live in northern climates, both Greeks and Italians (and even turks and Syrians) are very very white. The thing that makes them dark is tanning due to stronger sunlight exposure. Even northern europeans can get quite dark with lots of sunlight.

Source: Greek family. I live in Poland--the construction workers here get Really dark during the summer.

Bonus fact: The maximum turkic DNA that a turk can have is about 24%. Unless the turk in question has a parent directly from turkmenistan, most turks are actually majority descended from native Anatolian and Greek ancestry. It turns out that the Seljuk invasion was numerically smaller the native Anatolian populace who have been present in Asia Minor for thousands and thousands of years. In fact, while the maximum descent for turks is about 24%, most of them have significantly less, the average is a little under 10%. There is a really interesting haplogroup study about this floating around somewhere that's worth looking into.

Edit: That still doesn't justify letting them into Europe. Fuck the turks.

Yeah, he said "Będziesz wisiać!" I think, and I'm pretty sure the polish minister of health was a chick? I'd have to check it out again--I just remember being inordinately pleased with konfederacja....again.

the brits use it as the diminutive of cunt. Why they need a diminutive for cunt is beyond me?

I don't like PiS, but I've been supportive of their governancy specifically to keep Wiosna and PO at bay. I'd rather Konfederacja have a shot but that's never gonna happen :(

One of the Konfederacja politicians told the polish health minister, to her face, in the sejm that she should hang for her policies during the wuflu bullshit. It made my heart feel fuzzy and warm.

I have the first edition Grimm's Fairytales on my shelves, along with Hans Christian Andersons fairy tales and some Polish collections because I think that folk-art and folk-tales are important and that reading and exposing yourself to a wide array of literature is necessary for developing an accurate understanding of culture and the world.

Censorship is wrong regardless of the target.

They sometimes show up to pick up garbage from highways and parks. They NEVER show up to clean up when it's actually difficult and important. It's just a hobby to these people, they rarely value it enough to dedicate themselves to it like they should.

It's kind of nice to see a game with creative puzzles though, and not just one single puzzle repeated over and over.

Have you read "The Grapes of Wrath"?

Cops will arrest the homeless for loitering and mischief--these are crimes which have no prison sentence, and then release them the next day somewhere further down the line after roughing them up a little.

I've read Jane Austen's oeuvre pretty much entirely. I would be seriously hesitant to describe her as a progressive. She does a pretty good job of refraining from making any actual opinion and mostly just pokes fun at the sensibilities of the upper-class of late 1700's England. Each book ends in a wedding, happily ever after style, and it's pretty clear that the ideas of the upper-class are justified once more after she's teased them a little. It's pure literary comedy in the classical sense.

Sort of, I guess? Homer was early Hellenic (8th century BC) and created his grand works about legends passed down from the mycaneans who were pre-hellenic, but definitely the immediate ancestors of the hellenes. They had writing too. So we don't actually know what sources Homer was working off of, but the bronze age collapse would have made written sources scarce which is what leads us to insist it was all oral. Linear B and Greek Majuscule have basically nothing in common. But the idea that Homers works would have been written down pretty much immediately is plausible since it would only be a few years (350 years) later that Xenophon wrote down his histories--and that guy was prolific as hell.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but I was pretty convinced that Homer dictated his works because he was blind, but those works would have been collected and collated almost immediately...

that'll be because womens instinct is to create strong in-group consensus. It's a valuable consensus when the in-group is 100 people found locally who all cooperate towards a common goal (the groups well-being). It's less valuable when the "in-group" is an amorphous global mass of humanity with no local presence.
