My closest Walmart has e-ink price tags on the shelves inside the store, which I am absolutely certain are network enabled, and can be changed by remote. I'm sure they were already headed towards dynamic pricing, if they weren't doing it already.
Now, purely from a labor stand point, I can see the utility of network addressable electronic price tags, because you don't have to send employees out to change tags when the price changes, but, the potential for customer abuse is gigantic.
