There are a lot of urban areas (especially on the West Coast) now where the government has decided it’s racist to enforce the laws, but they still at least pretend they’ll do their job… they just never do. In the Bay Area though, the government actually came out and said the citizens are on their own, it would not be equitable for the government to stop crime. So OF COURSE you have little old ladies packing heat. And well they should if in their old age they can’t count on anyone else to protect them or stand up for them.

Edit: Theoretically I guess the Bay is back to pretending it will enforce the law in the year it’s been since Chesa Boudin was shown the door, but I haven’t seen anything to suggest that anything has changed.

Exactly, and it did the job. I bet they went right out and bought something more substantial after this.

Diversity on the right: “Fair dues to other cultures when they act badass! There should be movies about this stuff!”

Diversity on the left: “What if we just remade all the white stories with minority actors?”

Man, you’d think criminals would know you do this shit at big box stores where the people with an actual monetary stake are far away and don’t really care what happens in any individual store (and assume they can take an occasional loss like this at any rate), and the clerks are either completely apathetic or explicitly told they’ll be fired if they intervene. You try to pull this shit in front of the guys whose living actually depends DIRECTLY on the sale of those goods, and you get, to quote Moe from the Simpsons, “Hit with stick! Hit with stick!”

I can’t claim to know if this is true, but “a work environment focused on nudity and sexuality” sounds at least… plausible? … from a boss who is clearly obsessed with sexuality/looks/beauty and who is also clearly mentally ill as to exactly that.

I’m amazed at how frequently leftists miss absolute layups. International Women’s Day? Just say something nice about women, right? “Women should celebrate this man!!!!” International Men’s Day? Just say something nice about men, right? “Big ups to all the male allies who support women!!!” These are simple PR moves and they still blow them.

In fairness, at least certain segments of the Lutheran Church are basically atheism with extra steps.

Maybe if characters who weren’t redheads are made into redheads, balance will return to the universe.

That angry look in his mug shot is the look of somebody who was sure he was going to get away with everything, if he just said the magic words, and now feels betrayed.

Excellent point. And a point that conforms to all my observances offline, though none are so extreme as what the family is asking for here.

I’m not clever or witty enough to come up with the final term, but there’s definitely some room out there to make new race nicknames based on what you mentioned. Asians are “denied applicants” or “the unadmitted,” white people are “merit-based Americans,” something like that, only better.

Between this whole situation, and the poor reception that Velma got earlier in the year (edit: and Rings of Power before that), we’ve been able to really trace exactly where the Overton window stands in this country over the past several months. The wider American society, outside of woke academics, very online activists and the other “usual suspects” in that movement, simply do not care for trans bullshit and simply do not care for race swapping and unoriginality of the “reverse cultural appropriation” kind either, and that’s honestly very heartening to see. Those two things are still very much on the fringe, even though it doesn’t feel like it sometimes. If they weren’t, woke ass shows and movies would be super popular and this Bud Light shit wouldn’t be happening right now. And so while any war, to include a culture war, will see victories on both sides, it’s good to see a few wins for our side and to see the woke movement have to come to grips with the fact that they’ve over-reached on some issues, since it for a while it sure felt like they could do no wrong. What we’re seeing now is how much their apparent invincibility in 2020-22 was based more in their sheer boldness at fucking over, canceling, doxxing, protesting outside private homes, and so on over those years. People didn’t agree with them, they were afraid of what they might do to them. But you can only pull duress moves like that for so long before people just get sick of it or stop being scared of it, and now the woke are only going to win on any issue if people actually agree with them on it, and what we’ve seen is that on some issues, people very clearly do not. So honestly, God bless Bud light for this over-reach. It’s very heartening to see that there is still a bit of logic and sense among the American population.

Yep, anyone who thinks the politicians themselves are immune to bad thinking or not susceptible to purposeful fuckery on social media is fooling themselves. Politicians can’t even get elected anymore without basically being a somewhat better dressed version of their side’s Twitter nuts, up to and including Tweeting in exactly the same staple, just about.

If these people are anything like most black people I’ve met who want “safe spaces,” the problem with Skid Row is that there are too many black dudes there.

You’ve nailed it. One of the biggest mistakes people make, especially about their ideological enemies, is that other people are just dopey and dumb. But there’s all kinds of “intelligence” and one thing almost all humans have is intelligence in pattern-recognition. Kids quickly learn what they can and can’t get away with, what they can say to get heat off them when they’re in trouble (and what they shouldn’t say because it turns the heat up), etc. If society is in a place where “but racism! But historical trauma!” gets you whatever you want and puts you above criticism, people are gonna start making that claim. It’s honestly the smart thing to do, if you have nothing else to back up your ask or your argument.

My thought exactly. I wish people would listen to reason on this trans sports issue, but since they won’t, they’re gonna have to learn the other way

Ah, content-based speech restrictions. Sure does suck not to have a First Amendment.

…and a Supreme Court that actually believes in it, of course, since there are plenty of Americans who would cheer for this result if it happened here.

Just another sign that the general lefty/SJW social movement is drive by Femininity, more so even than the usually-accused foundations of Marxism and Postmodernism. And that’s specifically “femininity” rather than “feminism” because there’s no attempt to really advance or develop women, just make everyone act like and think like women, and interact with the world like women. I suppose there is an argument to be made that by turning men into women they advance their interests because on that level playing field they can beat us with experience, but I’m not sure that’s even a goal for most of them. I notice they still want the member of the weepy crying therapy attending couple who happens to have a penis to do all the work and recompense the members of weepy crying therapy attending couples who happen to have a vagina for historical “trauma,” personal “trauma,” etc.

My favorite thing about this picture is that it somehow took four woke brains to write the “IT RACIST DOH” article. These “actually, thing is -ist and/or -phobic” explainers all follow the same template and could be put out by AI. Why did it take four people to write this one?!?

TDS has nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with the power of psychological conditioning. Leftist rage can switch from one thing to another, just like they did with Kavanaugh, to Covington, to Barret, to Rittenhouse, to Thomas. It doesn't matter who, all that matters is the process. Go ahead and read the shit they said about Reagan and Goldwater, it's shockingly similar to what they say about Trump. It's almost word for word.

Even anyone old enough to have been aware during the George W Bush years can confirm this.
