And the dirty little secret is that now that you actually have to pay interest on loans, companies are becoming a lot less likely to just seek those ESG dollars. It is entirely possible the studios are using this strike just so they can Force Majeure away all of this stuff that they approve when there was free money lying around and lots of eyeballs up for grabs, but now leave them saying "We fucked up!" now that they have to worry about their spending.

Additionally, I would argue they go after stuff like this because the modern Left attacks anything that is conventionally attractive. It is also why they get so angry at video game mods and anime, as well as any Hollywood movie that dares to step out of line.

The part that is annoying to me is, I am not even into this skimpy outfit look. I am very much the weirdo in that when it comes to what turns me on, more is less (example).

Yet every time stuff like this goes on, They have me over here going "You're gonna make me have to defend this, arent you? Damn it." Because I know eventually they will come for stuff I like. Technically, they already do since it seems the modern left (especially the trans types) seem to hate Tomboys.

Yeah, and she is just as good in McSix as she was in Frozen Crown. If I had to guess, much like most members of Angus McSix, she joined because she wanted a band that wasnt going to tour a lot so she could have more home time.

Darrius Rucker was/is pretty popular too. And while kind of niche, Cowboy Troy at least had a respectable following.

It is a lot like Black people in Metal. Its not that they are actively discriminated against, and they will even be popular. It is just that, due to the demographics of where it is popular, they are typically outnumbered by White people.

wtf is the 4th image

GIR from Invader Zim. Who is an alien robot who has to try and blend in with Humanity but doesnt know how that works because they are an alien.

Also, the second is probably actually what the Lefties are talking about and is not a Tomboy. But that is because it is a character from an animated show that was based on a Tumblr comic series....which should tell you everything you need to know about it.

I think the problem is he used to be fun. But now in recent times he has go a little off the rails and gotten actually kind of aggressive.

The other issue is that unlike Hollywood, there is a vast and extensive network of Indie and AA studios that are not beholden to the overall Games industry and would continue to exist if this strike happened. In fact, such a strike would probably allow them to cut into the market share of AAA devs even more than they already are, which is a market where a $15 voxel based game is putting up player numbers on par with Call of Duty and its $70 price tag.

The fun one is when you consider that they changed them to bandits at the same time they made them "diverse".

What did the SJW's mean by this?

Yes, it is. Which is why he constantly facepalms at other investors and financial types who value growth more than profit, not realizing profit is a lot more indictive of a healthy company worthy of investment than one that has growth.

It is one of the things that a channel I watch called Valliant Renegade gets a bug up his ass about all the time. His day job is doing financial work, and one of this biggest pet peeves is the push in the last decade or two that all companies should be focused on growth rather than profit. It is why you have this push for constant investment and credit even though companies are losing money hand over fist.

Meanwhile, many of those investors will turn up their nose at a company that had limited growth but made solid profit.

He sees it as the number one reason that so many of the streaming services have failed to make any profit because they must get that growth, which then also causes the drop in quality (that is further made worse by the beliefs of the Hollywood types).

I LOVE Redline. Probably also one of the better dubs I can think of out there too.

This is your semi-annual reminder that the US Comic industry has degraded so much that just the merch for Demon Slayer outsold all US Comics combined.

Totally agree on Jormungand. I was especially surprised at how well it actually handled the guns, where guns have realistic handling and bullet physics (like a character surviving a "Shot through the scope" thing because modern scopes has so many layers of glass it is virtually impossible to go all the way through). I think my only major complain is that I thoroughly disagree with the ending of the anime and dont think the plan would actually work as they want it to. But still, very good.

As for me, I really enjoyed Eighty-Six: 86. Essentially, it is the usual "AI is created and then tries to kill all the humans" story at the start, but the main nation shown in the show claims they are fighting the AI (known as Legion) using "ethical warfare" means of pilots remote controlling drones to ensure minimal loss of life. In reality, the "drones" are crewed by those known as the "Eighty-Six", who are those who were left behind outside the walls and condemned to die to the Legion, and offered a chance to become a citizen if they survive a tour of duty......assuming they make it past their suicide mission they are always sent on before the time is up.

It handles the top of discrimination in a way Hollywood and the SJW's WISH they were capable of. The 86 are shown to be just as racist toward the people of the city, even when they want to help (like the new handler of the main characters squadron), as well as being more than willing to attack fellow 86 for having the audacity of "being nice to the 'White Pigs'". But it also shows that the people of the city are not good either and are more than willing to put racism before reason, even when the main characters start finding evidence that some of the methods used by the city are actively making the Legion more powerful.

Definitely recommend, and I think it is still ongoing with new seasons at the moment.

I had a similar feeling about Three Kingdoms. I loved the changes they made to diplomacy and "spear vs. cavalry" balance being done in a very novel but genius way that I wish they copied. And I did like that they gave options where you could either play with the "Romance" mode where it is over-the-top "Hyper-General going Dynasty Warriors on the enemy" or you could play "Historical" mode which made it more traditional.

But then every DLC seemed to causes some issue with the game, the DLC fell flat on its face compared to the base game, and CA said "Oops. We are killing the game now and stopping support. Lol, Lmao."

It is amazing to me how far they have fallen since even just a few years ago.

However like most gamers I know now they're probably going to be releasing about 10 - 20 different DLC separately if that and it's getting completely out of control even by most peoples' standards

I will say, for what it is worth, Paradox has redone their DLC policy to be a bit less money-grubbing. From what I have seen of the dev diaries thus far, it looks like a huge step forward from just the barebones, and the new Paradox policy on DLC is going to be that important shit will not be locked behind the paywall. So any major updates to the core will be in the free update, while the DLC will only affect changes made by the DLC.

Not saying you have to change your mind on it or get it before you feel it is ready, but I think Paradox is actually continuing to live up to their name and somehow change their entire way.

I agree with the overall point though about Warhammer 3. When it was first released, I loved it and thoroughly enjoyed both the campaign and the new factions. But it seems like every update the break the game more (much like they did with Three Kingdoms) and they seem to refuse to fix it. I know that there have been suggestions they take after Paradox and make a team dedicated to bug squishing their games, but CA seems to be offended by the accusation.

It is also free. You can have a lot of leeway with "free".

Because where I live $18.75/hour is enough to live a comfortable life? I dont know how else to explain it. I am not living high on the hog, but I am not living paycheck to paycheck either.

I also dont own a house. They are still a little to expensive to pay for with only one salary. I was saying the typical family could afford a house. I still live in a rental.

TheModernDaVinci 9 points ago +9 / -0

I guess Kansas exist in a timeskip where all of this stuff with the modern world passed us by then. Because a lot of what is around me is still what it has always been. Looking at my local Zillow right now, rents in the $1,000+ range get you an entire house, never mind an apartment.

Which is why this sort of stuff is entirely within range of being affordable to all but the most destitute of people. And as a tradesman myself (machinist) I can make plenty to afford this stuff and still have enough to save and invest.

TheModernDaVinci 10 points ago +10 / -0

I actually just looked around my town for some places. I found plenty that were monthly mortgages in the $1,800 range for 3 bed, 2 bath homes, which would be a home for a family so you would expect multiple people paying in on it. And most apartments rent for around $800/month and cover almost all utilities except internet.

Especially when the government in charge of that area has been getting told for years that their abysmal forest management practices would lead to a wildfire. Even now they are going "Hey, this fire is burning in literally the exact places and exact orders we said it would like 5 years ago."

Much like how a lot of Cali and the PNW were the result of bad forest practices rather than any foul play. Because it turns out that those who preach the loudest about environmentalism are usually the least knowledgeable about it.

They couldnt even enforce mask mandates and Covid lockdowns in most of the country. And that was at least something with a modicum of support.

If they try something like this, that all but the most Lefty of Left Winger is going to be openly hostile toward, they probably wont even be able to pull it off in the usual places.

TheModernDaVinci 7 points ago +7 / -0

Meanwhile, here in the real world, most ranches near me own their own brick and mortar stores where they will sell their own milk and meat, and the price is usually competitive with supermarket prices.

8
TheModernDaVinci 8 points ago +8 / -0

Moreover, gun control is even starting to lose its popularity with all but the most hardcore of Leftist, to the point that it is the single most losing issue they have. They tried and failed. America will never willingly give up its guns. And I know a ton of former/current Centrist who changed their outlook on guns after Covid and the 2020 riots.

We are at a point where it is more likely the NFA will be repealed than the 2nd Amendment. And you cant tell it makes the government seethe.

I met my fiancé in High School, and so far we have been together for almost 13 years at this point, with no end in sight.

While she doesnt really care about any of the things we talk about on here, she also hates the SJW's more often than hating us so I consider that a win. She is also a gamer so that also also helps.
