I think that, for at least some of them, they want the system fixed because they see not exploiting the loopholes as putting them at a disadvantage, which it would, and it would be a lot easier to accept if it wasn't giving their rivals an advantage over them.
I forget exactly which one, but one of the books in that stretch has virtually nothing at all happen until the last couple of pages. As boring as it was to get through that, looking back I marvel at Jordan's ability to write that many coherent pages without, even accidentally, moving the plot forwards one single bit.
The Death Gate Cycle is another incredible, older, fantasy series that I would strongly recommend.
Ages ago, sorcerers of unmatched power sundered a world into four realms--sky, stone, fire, and water--then vanished. Over time, magicians learned to work spells only in their own realms and forgot the others. Now only the few who have survived the Labyrinth and crossed the Death Gate know of the presence of all four realms--and even they have yet to unravel the mysteries of their severed world...
Just guessing, as I don't really know their business deals, but they probably signed on to publish all of WSJ's material, rather than this specific comic alone. And no, even if I don't like censorship, I absolutely believe that child porn is an acceptable place to draw the line (assuming that's the issue here). They're not even being too uppity about it, as they're still going to continue publishing other chapters from what I can tell. Hell, it's entirely possible that it would be straight up illegal to publish whatever is in that chapter.
They're far too arrogant to realize that people won't want it. Their estimation of the power of their control is extremely overinflated because they imagine that deceiving people is the same thing as controlling them. Their entire world view seems to elevate deception as if it were some sort of god-tier super power so they can claim personal responsibility for things that happen without their involvement. An entire world in which nothing at all happens without their involvement will be a spectacular failure, and hopefully a sobering reality check.
Metacompany appears to have folded several years ago.
It's unclear what legal rights they may still retain though. Will be interesting to see if this has any legs.
He lost because his authoritarian social structure is inherently unstable, and is incapable of effectively coordinating an entire society on the global scale, similar to how the Soviet Union collapsed and China is falling apart right now.
idk man, I've largely given up on even attempting to find games there. Every time I've tried in the past several years I just get sick of scrolling through page after page of shovelware and go do something else instead.
