Bahahahahaha. "Millionaires call on governments worldwide to ‘tax us now’". These people literally live in tax havens, and DELIBERATELY move assets around the world to avoid taxes. This is such utter transparent bullshit I just can't even... (archive.is)

Meanwhile...

Knowing about the huge outbound migration from California, Cavuto asked what would happen to wealthy people who move out of state. Bonta said tax “avoidance” would not be allowed as California would tax them for the next ten years, despite what state they live in. Bonta said that because they accrued the wealth in California, the state can continue to legally tax it.

If the hollywood set are so keen to pay taxes, why are they all running away when it's time to pay their share?

This first-in-the-nation net worth tax is estimated to generate $7.5 billion per year in new “revenues” to the state coffers.

Screw all of you. If you're so concerned about fixing "income inequality", if you're so eager to give your money away, just do it. Charities. Paying extra governments. Start up more companies to hire more people. Increase wages at companies you already have. Heck, just get a bunch of bills, charter a helicopter or something, fly over slum areas of cities and make it rain money.

The fact that you don't do that yourself but insist on governments tax you more just says you know you are confident you can find the loopholes while you make everyone else suffer.

No. They will cry like stupid children demanding other peoples' money instead. Useless, resentful communist human trash.

The fact is that no amount of taxes on the wealthy will pull BILLIONS of people out of poverty. Only economic freedom will. Also population control. Both are required.

OG Link: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/jan/19/millionaires-call-on-governments-worldwide-to-tax-us-now

Of course this is in the fucking Guardian, the newspaper of choice for the upper middle class, pseudo-"woke" liberal...

Fuck. Ing. Hell...

"Group of 102 wealthy people say tax would help tackle gulf between rich and poor"

"More than 100 members of the global super-rich called on Wednesday for governments around the world to “tax us now” to help pay for the pandemic response and tackle the gulf between rich and poor.

The group of 102 millionaires and billionaires, including Disney heiress Abigail Disney, said the current tax system is rigged in their favour and needs to be rewritten to make taxation fairer for hard-working people and restore trust in politics."

Absolute clown show. These are people who actively choose to avoid tax, and then they spew this toxic bullshit.

Oh my fucking god, this is juicy...

Who in god's name actually believes this is legitimate? Who??!

US tax return has an option for anybody to voluntarily pay more tax if she wants to.

Has she utilized this?

No.

She actually wants OTHER PEOPLE to pay more tax.

They locked comments on this, because of course they fucking did...

I imagine even some Guardian readers can see through this utterly transparent lie.

Fuck them. Fuck Abigail Disney. Fuck the Guardian. Fuck them all...

The Reddit worship for this lot (in WorldNews et al) is something else, man...

Like, even by Reddit standards it is fucking pathetic...

Surely no organic wokie actually worships these people, and thinks they are "the best and brightest of humanity"...? Surely not. I cannot actually fathom that level of doublethink...

I'm willing to bet that virtue-signaling hypocrite is a pauper on paper and everything except the change in his pocket is controlled by trusts, none of which can be tracked back to him personally.

There's actually a mechanism to this and you hit on it.

It's the same reason Exxon is okay with a carbon tax, but not a carbon market.

Taxes can be worked around through their lawyers, but a full blown regulatory system would require them to invest in buying even more bureaucrats and regulators than they already pay for.

Literally just taking their money is more predictable and accountable. Because of that, it's easier to navigate around them.

One of my favorite things to say to people on the left about taxes is to simply ask if they know that they vote for the same politicians Jeff Bezos and Bloomberg do at a national level and that they vote at a local level for candidates that their newspapers support. Yet somehow those politicians are going to increase taxes on the ultra wealthy to make them pay their fair share and not the rest of us.

Millionaires? Ain't any mere millionaires among the "global super-rich". $100M is the bare minimum.

As a mere millionaire*, I know the tax system is blatantly unfair. In the year 2020 I worked full time and paid over 40% of my income in taxes, while many poorer people not only paid nothing in taxes, they were paid by the government and didn't have to work at all. It's the rich -- excluding these super-rich, probably -- who are paying the lion's share of the taxes in the United States. What these super-rich want is more taxes on this not-quite-so-elite group in order to maintain their own position at the top.

* and you can believe that or not

I think that, for at least some of them, they want the system fixed because they see not exploiting the loopholes as putting them at a disadvantage, which it would, and it would be a lot easier to accept if it wasn't giving their rivals an advantage over them.

10% flat tax paid to the state you live in. Federal government gets 10% of what the states collect.

Not enough money? Tough shit.

Rich people pay your way. The top 30% pay ALL of the taxes. The middle class pays no taxes when you consider the subsidies they get back. Who pays taxes? Men pay the taxes. People making over 100k pay the taxes. Business owners pay the taxes.

Everyone else is parasitical to some degree.

Who do we not need more of?? YOU.

Rich people profit when YOU drive on public roads to their business. Rich people profit when the goods YOU buy are delivered via public roads. Rich people give you a small portion of the wealth you generate, then with that margin they've skimmed from you, pay some of it to the government and tell you how about they're paying all of the taxes, expect you to be grateful and give them a break.

What a fucking joke.

The problem is that pretty much every nation on the planet has a system that allows people to donate their money to the government.

America is included in that list. You can write a check to the National Treasury right now if you want.
