Just learn Japanese and cut out the middleman. No need to wait for shitty translations or pozzed localizations. It took me a couple of years, but I can enjoy games, manga, anime and even books.

You actually got most of the Japanese right. The only mistake is that it's "Shin Sangoku Musou". Sangoku means three countries while Sengoku means "a country engaging in civil war", usually referring to the Warring States period of either China or Japan.

Demanding self-sacrifice from the little people is a tale as old as time, but this time nobody cares enough to go out there (other than r*dditors). They really need better tactics if they want to protect their investments in Ukraine. Maybe a false flag or two on American soil would do the trick.

Relevant clip from Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

it just turns people off from the genre

Good, normies do not deserve Japanese media.

I'll share my favorite anime and a lighthearted one.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes - "The 150-year-long stalemate between the two interstellar superpowers, the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance, comes to an end when a new generation of leaders arises: the idealistic military genius Reinhard von Lohengramm, and the FPA's reserved historian, Yang Wenli.

While Reinhard climbs the ranks of the Empire with the aid of his childhood friend, Siegfried Kircheis, he must fight not only the war, but also the remnants of the crumbling Goldenbaum Dynasty in order to free his sister from the Kaiser and unify humanity under one genuine ruler. Meanwhile, on the other side of the galaxy, Yang—a strong supporter of republican ideals—has to stand firm in his beliefs, despite the struggles of the FPA, and show his pupil, Julian Mintz, that autocracy is not the solution."

Besides the two main heroes, the story is full of vivid characters and intricate politics. All types of characters – from high nobility, admirals, and politicians, to common soldiers and farmers – are interwoven into the story. The story frequently switches away from the main heroes to the Unknown Soldier fighting for his life on the battlefield.

Excellent soundtrack, dated animation (space battles are ok in this regard). Oberstein did nothing wrong.

Grand Blue - "Iori Kitahara moves to the coastal town of Izu for his freshman year at its university, taking residence above Grand Blue, his uncle's scuba diving shop. Iori has high hopes and dreams about having the ideal college experience, but when he enters the shop he is sucked into the alcoholic activities of the carefree members of the Diving Club who frequent the place."

I started to watch this one because I'm a diver, but what got me hooked was the feeling of nostalgia. Having parties with your close friends, going on trips and the general mischief you get to experience with your bros.

Anyone who would abort a baby should do it. We do not need more of these "people" in this world.

I mean, they have Karryn's prison on the steam store... Seems like they have a VN hate boner more than anything.

The first two chapters remind me of Plato's myth of metals and the "noble lie". Fatherless children with state imposed fates. I hate collectivists and technocrats, they all think the human condition is an engineering problem to be solved.

He's one of the chosen people himself, so he knows how jewy they can be. The internet's own Mel Brooks.

She doomed Rhodesia and the rest of Africa first, and then the Br*tish Isles.

Being the head of state during the period in which the globe-spanning empire turned into a weak, feminized country with no redeeming qualities should not be praised.

Yeah, one of the main "guys" is an actual furry faggot. I only watched the ones with E;R.

BTW, I have to say that your username is absolutely 1000% gigabased. Don't spoil me, though, I'm still watching the series.

I agree. The thing is that these mongoloids believe that you should be able to pay for things like a mortgage, a car, a college education, etc. with the salary of a burger flipper or a warehouse stocker. Anybody can do that shit, and there is always somebody willing to work for less. When they realize (if) that a gender studies degree does not provide the skills that people are willing to pay for, they decide to blame society and make everyone else pay for their mistakes.

Also, wages dropped when women entered the workforce, and no amount of economic growth is going to compensate for the doubling of the available labor. The truth is that being a housewife has become pointless, too many conveniences made it easy, boring. Modern society, a rising cost of living and a lack of kids have pushed women out of the house. Feminism plays another role, convincing women that kids are parasites holding them back, only to find out that nobody wants a washed-up 35 year old whore.

[... ]game publishers are responsible for making sure their story does not offend their audience or step on the toes of countries’ social progress.

I forgot that foreign games were responsible for social progress.

I recently picked up reading again. An e-reader, Calibre and experience in sailing the high seas are a must when consuming digital books.

Wealth of Nations - I've been reading this one for some time. Everybody should read it, you'll understand how wrong most people are about economics.

The Tactical Guide to Women - This one basically teaches you what look for and what to offer when browsing the marketplace. It's kind of a black pill for me since I'm busy most of the time, no chance to meet girls in-person.

*Neuromancer *- "The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel." Just started reading this one, I always liked cyberpunk as a genre, so I have high hopes for it.

Please don't bully me Nagatoro - Amusing, cute drawings. Great for Japanese practice because it has furigana.

Konosuba - Great series. I particularly like the humor. Some books are weaker than others, but you can get through each of them in one evening.

Thanks, I'll give the show a try. I usually watch the anime, then go straight for the source if I enjoy it.

As for the movie, I watched that one before I played any of the games or read the book. I always fall asleep at some point whenever I start it up.

I loved the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and Roadside Picnic, too. Would you recommend Urasekai Picnic?

After I finished Legend of the Galactic Heroes I vowed never to binge watch another series again. So I watch one episode of one show each week.

The ones I'm watching are:

Berserk (1997) - Excellent.

Redo of Healer - Meh, I think it's a budget version of Rance.

Log Horizon S2- Fun, but nothing special.

Monster - I'm liking it so far. A nice change of pace from all the fantasy stuff.

Inuyasha - I'm watching this one with JP subs. Too many strange terms are thrown around, so It takes me a long time to get through each episode. I chose this one because I watched it when it was being aired all those years ago.

Yuru Camp S1- Re-watching in preparation for the second season. Mein Comf, 10/10 would recommend.

I sometimes watch Terrace House with JP subs, but it's a bit boring. I wish the girls were cuter...

A broken clock is right twice a day. For L*pez this is just another stage to perform on.

Multiple doses of lead to the noggin' might just be the right amount of medicine for this clown.

Sorry, I do not know anything about the Mangagamer version. I'd rather buy some merch to help AS, but my coffers are in a bit of a crisis atm.

Thanks for the recommendation, I can see myself going through it in order to take a break from our hero with insatiable lust.

BTW, what is your set up for going through the VNs? Like what kind of programs do you use? I use Textractor and Anki with the Migaku dictionary addon.

Is your Rance 2 the remake? Rance 02 is found within the Alice 2010 bundle. I might have the torrent file somewhere if you need it....

I downloaded all of them in advance, to be honest. I only discovered the series recently, so I wanted to play them in order. So far, Rance 03 is way, way better than the other two, it's got VA, Kanami-chan and Shizuka-chan are in it as well. The gameplay shares some features with 01, but it's a lot more fun and refined.

Rance 02 has shittier scenes, the fights and the dungeons are more tedious and the BGM is not as good, either. Also, it's shorter than the other two. Even then, 03 picks up where 02 ends, and many characters from it show up all the time. I recommend you play through it at least once.

I am looking forward to Sengoku Rance, I've heard it's so good that some people put it in their top 10 strategy games.

I am playing through Rance 03 mainly to further my japanese studies. Other than that, I occasionally play GTA Online to collect cars.

My computer is gonna be 9 years old in a few months so I'm saving for a new one. Hopefully I'll be able to get through my huge backlog with it.
