NGL, that's some really good trolling.
Helps with the mask's off moment, as I'm sure there's a flood of people agreeing with thim.
Not as damning as I thought. It was based off of hashtag polling on twitter. Which, y'know... it's twitter. ...on the other hand, it's twitter. Who knows?
They can't afford to.
To call this a disaster is almost underselling it. Bud light sales have cratered; It's gotten kicked out of the top-ten beers being sold in America. Someone did a before and after map of regions and what brand of beers are being sold, and Bud Light has been literally wiped from the map.
Can't say I miss them.
She probably helps.
It's not a universal rule, but I'm of a firm belief that some people just need to get the absolute shit kicked out of them to becoming functioning adult humans.
It's like dogs. Some are so perfectly attuned to you that you can frown in their direction and they'll immediately correct their behavior. Others you need to pick up by the scruff of their neck and beat them on the rump so they don't turn into biters.
Rioters? They had atleast one General in the army directly colluding with China, breathlessly reassuring them that he'd immediately go running to them if Trump so much as breathed in the wrong direction.
Nevermind them directly admitting they were openly lying about troop deployment numbers, so who knows what else they won't admit to.
They're never going to be able to translate all the layers of intrigue that's in the books over to films. But given that the source of the Saurdukar are a really big mystery in the book - well.
I wouldn't have expected that to be my line for the movie, but apparently it was.
I'm sure there were a bunch of hardcore Dune fans that were making excuses in their heads when they went to see the movie. It's just pure power-play. Same with the race-swapped fremen and Chaani.
And yeah, you really should read the books. They're a classic for a reason.
Genderswapping Kynes alone should have sent alarm bells off with anyone who knows anything about Dune.
I could go off on a large tangent about how it makes no fucking sense given the entire political and gender-aspect of the setting as a whole, but, eh. Try to point this out and you get a horde of midwits mumbling something about how I hate women or blacks or something.
While the fact they gender-swapped Kynes shows they have the same understanding of the Dune universe as a shallow puddle, the part that pisses me off the most is that they showed the Sardaukar homeworld.
Which was very much a surprise on my part on how much it pissed me off. Didn't watch the movie, didn't plan on it, and I was very confused on the sudden inclusion of youtube feeds about the 'Sardaukar home planet'.
So, yeah. While I'm sure it looks great, I really fucking hate that movie.
Goes out of her way to look like Barbie and a cheerleader, then gets offended when called out on it.
Yeah. Sounds like a woman, alright. Goddamit.
They have actually done studies on this that show it's a one-way street. Leftists, especially online, can pretty much have the privilege of existing in a echo chamber.
Think about every social platform you can consider. Unless the forum in question is about topics that are vibrantly right-wing in question, it defaults to leftist spewing their opinions without getting called out on them every single time. Whereas if you're right-leaning, you just got to grin and bear it - cause getting into a debate will just get you swarmed.
I used to be alot more into comics than I currently am, reading up on the background of things - how the sausage is made, so to speak.
And it's actually really fucking hard to do it well. You have to not only know how to write, but effectively translate your vision onto comic format and then act as director for your artist in question(and let's not go into some of the horrendous art artists can pass off as 'you must pay money for this'.)
I can't think of a single woman outside of japan that could do that shit.
Comics really are a weird artform that can show a display of pure skill if you succeed, and letting everyone know how shit you are if you fail.
what if men were treated like women
Hmm. Let me think.
If that was the case, then;
I would be able to openly and physically abuse women with everyone automatically deferring to my judgement on the matter, assuming the woman deserves it, and if they try to strike back, they'd immediately get swarmed by a horde of women defending my honor.
I'd also be able to weaponize the police if a woman annoys me in any way whatsoever, claiming emotional distress as a way to completely ruin their life.
I'd also be the one romantically pursued, never expected to pay for dates, expected to have complete deference and control over household finances(and if I was refused, people would take it for abuse), able to cheat and have automatically assume it's the woman's fault, completely gatekeep sex, oh, and I'd be able to sexually shame women if they act in a way I disagree with and no one would be able to call me out on it.
Sounds pretty nice, actually.
"all men have it easy"
This take makes perfect sense from the feminist perspective, when you realize that all women tend to fall into the Apex Fallacy - the only men they see are the 1 to 5 % that really do have it that easy.
The remainder of men are completely invisible to them.
It's why they have a constant refrain of 'you just hate women!' when they get treated 'equally'. From the male perspective, it makes perfect sense - you want to get treated like one of the guys? Okay. Except they don't want that - they want to get treated like the top 1 to 5 % of men cause that's the only men they ever notice.
They rarely get called out on it, though. And so they live lives of privilege and plenty, until something causes reality to hit, and hit hard.
The funny thing is, there probably is a horde of women that would read comic books if said comic books were actually written to cater to their tastes.
But you're never, ever going to see the comic book equivalent of Seinan and Shoujo manga. It's fucking impossible.
When the Federal government doesn't need white people to lynch.
The only reason they got in trouble is because it caught the Feds attention. Local law enforcement basically went 'good riddance' and didn't do anything.
Remember the three S guidelines in the future, people.
Leftists kept trying to play Biden as 'the adult in the room' compared to Trump, but when you rip off the blatant media propaganda and look at some of the shit Biden actually does when dealing with people that don't kneel down and kiss his feet, it becomes pretty clear he's an absolute piece of shit. The kind that constantly uses their height(the guy is something like 6 foot 2) to bear down on people and physically intimidate them.
Everyone's probably had to deal with someone like that in their lives. The moment you challenge them, they immediately go for the physical power play. Pisses me off, and pisses me off more than the media and leftist shills keep making excuses for it.
Meh. Same as it ever was.
Parent had to go into the hospital recently, complaining of back-pain, so we took her in for a checkup.
Once they got the results, they basically told her 'You need to go to the emergency room, NOW'. Thankfully, despite the fact that she had, y'know, a fucking blood clot that was migrating toward her lungs, she was overall rather healthy, so made it out okay.
The thing is... what causes most blood clots? Just sitting around. Alot. They form 'naturally' in the leg and then migrate elsewhere. Every last doctor she talked too basically said 'Start exercising and you won't have this problem'. She's basically sitting around on her ass all day long, doing nothing but reading and watching TV.
That's what it takes to cause blood clots. Sitting on your ass 24/7, almost. You really shouldn't be seeing in the people that are getting it unless they've got something REALLY exotic going on in the background.
And before you ask, no, she never got the vex. All my immediate family are purebloods.
I know a guy who actually was part of a commune at one point, and that's basically why it imploded.
One to three people doing all the serious work, while everyone else just took advantage of them and/or did a half-assed job when it came to be their turn.
Ah, yes. Big O. The series with easily one of the most inscrutable and fucked-up ending for an anime series.
God, I want to rewatch it all of a sudden. I've seen some old theories taking apart the symbolism in that show and holy shit, it went deep...
As much as I dislike Bioshock Infinite as a game, when you stop and think about the setting in any way, it starts going all over the place. Columbia is clearly meant to be interpreted as 'bad', because the game is telling us that if we go ultra-nationalist and enslave brown people, we'll get flying cities as done by Norman Rockwell.
...
Also, the lady in question leading the under-dog revolution is an unlikeable, horrible person who'll murder kids without hesitation. Who's also black.
...wait, which side are we supposed to be rooting for, here?
Yes, I know, we get a forward flash to the future where zepplins are razing New York City to the ground and this is supposed to be a bad thing, but... wait a minute...
So, yeah. Bioshock Infinite is certainly... something.
The bitterly ironic thing is that America and China have been reasonably good allies in the 'modern' era.
The US basically rolled up during the Boxer Rebellion and told Europe to get fucked(preventing China from getting turned into another Africa), China and US were both sitting at the Big Boy table post-WW1. Little things like that.
Nowadays, though...
It's not even lying on the stand - it's believing the police officer's word over the defendants.
Yeah, this is an article I don't want to think too much about, or else I'll be fedposting for the next fucking week or so.
You don't even need to go to God; The bible is, at it's core, documentation - of laws, parables, allegories, stories and cautionary tales that rely on actual historical and sociological events of the times.
In other words, there is context. Nothing occurs in a vacuum. You can't look at scripture without acknowledging the society that it comes from - and that's where alot of things get really interesting.
History is one of the easiest topics to use to lie to people, as facts and events in a vacuum can be interpreted in a number of ways, and simply engineering in omission can change the story in it's entirety.
Over time, I've begun to feel that Christianity suffers alot from 'modern' interpretations of scripture. There's reasons for it - if you really start looking at some of the lessons in context and actually thinking about it, Christianity is far from as passive as alot people love to paint it. But, for good or for ill, alot of people are very invested in carrying the martyrdom interpretation of scripture.
