I actually have one of his metal Bill Of Rights cards which used to be sold at his shows (they're designed to set off airline security detectors, so that you must hand off your rights to them in order to fly, a sarcastic commentary on the TSA).
Going from highlighting the dangers of handing over your rights and making sure you're aware of it, to advocating for the surrender of your rights for temporary feels... My how the mighty fall.
Their seeding style is actually quite useful. The EXACT same actions will have the EXACT same results, which is very realistic, and helpful gameplay-wise to get you back to the point you were at from a prior save. But any change in actions creates a butterfly effect, changing the probability seed. A soldier moving one step to the left or right from the Save Point might make a prior crit a miss, or a miss into a crit.
I like oldschool graphics. I like sprite art over 3d blendered slop. I enjoy clarity in my graphics over a mass of browns and greys.
I'd love a bug-free re-release of Ar Tonelico 1 and 2, but that's just it: A bug-free re-release. The originals were (mostly) bug-free, but the act of localizing them added bugs, some game-breaking. I would want a re-release, not a reboot, not a remaster.
I would also love if the DS-era Fire Emblem games got a re-release, just with the Treehouse and their activists masquerading as "localizers" removed from the equation. I'd also love a de-master of them, bringing them back to sprites and pixels from weird 3d blobs.
PS1, 2, and 4:
Phantasy Star 3, however, was perfect in every way, and needs no remaster.
Doki's response was a proper class act. Hopefully the Nijihaters will respect Sajam's choice of letting Victoria participate, and respect that Victoria was brought onto Niji after most of Doki's drama. Clown on the corp, not the employee. Given Victoria's oshi was Selen, she's probably another tragic tale ex-Niji graduand in the making, so people, be nice.
It's weird that Nijisanji uses "liver" as a term for their talents, though. Holo-Live uses it because it's part of their name, so it makes a certain level of sense: Hololivers was shortened to livers. Nijisanji's shortforms should be Nijis, or Sanjis. Nijs?
A couple of her songs touch on it, talking about how the haters don't work hard and want life handed to them, but you gotta put in the grind if you want the gold, or how people turned on her for "selling out" by becoming a variety entertainer, when every single one of them said they wanted to make it to a big label one day (literally selling out their brand).
Yeah, playing Halls of Torment right now... And it's Vampire Survivors. Straight-up. Still sold a million copies, and still is a great game.
I played a half-dozen Slay The Spire clones, called that because they just ape the deckbuilder system of STS. Because that system, too, works. Maybe a dozen "Metroidvania" titles, too, named so because they copy the gameplay loop of Metroid, and Castlevania.
I've probably played two dozen "souls-like" games, 3rd-person hack-and-slashers with dodge-rolling-and-stamina elements. Because that one also works.
And don't get me started on turn based party based "Attack, Magic, Item, Flee" menu combat systems and gameplay loops! I've probably a thousand JRPGs in my library.
It's easy to get a good gameplay loop. Just take a successful game's loop. Everyone does it. No one gets sued over it.
With a name like Alucard13, we can believe it! Feel the edge!
On top of this, ironic given a thread, but from an Abridged series, "I think she's got autism. Not, like, the internet kind, but like actual real autism."
Being a sperg online, and actually exhibiting Autism Spectrum Disorder, are very different things. Being a sperg online IS some kind of superpower. Hyper-verifying everything, clearing all the shoops and AI-alts, that's valuable. But we're so ingrained in our own language and peculiarities that we forget that "real" ASD is not a gamer's focus on the game they're actively playing, but an entire life thing.
Oh, good! "Indigenous" have rights now, so we can just Mootness all their legal complaints! Mass graves? They're already dead, it's moot! Abductions? Those were in the past, it's moot! The rapes? Well, are they actively raping you this second? No? Moot!
It's even more frustrating when it's a country with subsidized healthcare.
"This atrocity took away the money to save X lives." is a constant unit of measurement whenever government spending occurs.
Buying Ubisoft products? Buying Star Wars products, in this day and age?
Pretty sure their customer base is just extreme subs downbad for findom, they're probably getting off to the news of their masters deleting their naughty save files.
As opposed to... what? Rick and Morty? South Park? Loony Toons? What western cartoon art style are you so enamored with by comparison?
"might", "mildly".
Tentacle rape, and underwear-clad doing a crotch-focus leg-spread for the viewpoint. Yes. Mildly. Might be lewd.
"May you live in interesting times".
It is a perfectly valid worldview to have, "fuck the haters". But you must accept that with such a worldview, without catering to any of the "haters", you necessarily restrict your profit-making potential. In some cases, for example, "fuck the woke haters", that restricted potential audience is still very large. In other cases, "fuck the non-woke haters", you're beginning with a 5% of the population-ish possible market.
I would say "she should have seen it coming based on the culture she surrounded herself with", but I look at the culture I'm surrounded with, almost as hostile to men as hers was to women prior to the tipping point.
How to tell if your country is not in a good place:
Step 1, compare the jailtime and parole/bail opportunities for simply speaking crossly, and compare it to raping, murdering, and/or mass destruction of property.
There is no step 2.
You sidestep it. If the other processor cannot handle 4 cores, you don't hit them with 16 cores, you downscale. Don't try to make them "get it". You're not picking a marriage partner, you're picking someone to make smalltalk with while accomplishing some side objective such as playing a game or conducting business.
There are likely a couple, like myself, who have had IQ tests administered back in grade school to see if they could skip a grade or two. But at this point, those tests for anyone posting on here would be woefully out of date.
Hey, we could easily be all three!
The people who believe the 2SD thing also believe a modern computer can't emulate a Nintendo 64's computer, because there's too much of an artificial intelligence gap between the two. The N64 can't ever emulate a windows 11 desktop, communication is impossible there, but windows 11 desktop can certainly emulate the N64.
And we'd all call a computer that couldn't emulate lower-level software to be handicapped in some way.
It's not as great as if you're on the same level, you're constantly aware you're running on a lower-level, but "near impossible" is truly ridiculous a sentiment, for sure.
Counterpoint: Psychic martian dragons!
I am, for a few minutes a week. I am cleansed of my sins, so until I sin again, I am without sin for that little bit.
The... 3rd ending, I think? Of PS3 can help tie together a lot of lore. Where it fits within the timeline is more questionable, but not the lore. The ending I'm thinking of, is the one where the satellite-ship loses navigation and power, but drifts and ends up near a habitable planet. That planet could easily be Motavia of PS4. PS3 would still be a "bottle episode" game, since it is contained on a space ship instead of the planets, but a minor change from the endings, and a minor change in the space flight navigations in PS4, would easily slot it into place. It wouldn't need a "complete rework", just some annotations.
Assuming the satellite never drifts away from the home system of Algo, just, like, a couple planets out, enough that it looks like a star from the planets, and the planets like stars to it (which is basically Saturn's distance to us), it's "close enough" for the Dark Force infestation being still in Algo, and timeline wise, could have the Nei weapons commute up to it, and then back down planet-side.
