Nearly 40% of Stanford undergraduates claim they’re disabled. The truth is, the system is there to be gamed, and most students feel that if you’re not gaming it, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. (twitter.com)

"If I'm not going to steal it somebody else is!"

Most people don't realize this is the common sentiment for almost the entire world outside of Europe and Japan.

Happens everywhere, buddy of mine refused a raise because it would put him over the income limit for his subsidized housing.

A $0.25/hr raise would have lead to their rent increasing from $900/mo to over $1400/mo.

They are one of the only people in that housing area that actuall has a job and isn't a fatass single mom.

When my kids were younger, I had a friend with a kids in high school. Her daughter used to babysit my kids, so she always had money. Her son looked at his little sister with more money than him, and got a job.

But, fast food is taxed wages. They told him, and the mom that every penny he made belongs to family income. And, and that he a 17 yr old high school student needed to turn in his weekly pay stubs. A high school kid! He ended up moving out while still in high school because while he lived at home, he was doing damage to the living situation.

But, as aoon as he moved out, HE was elgible for housing, food stamps, medical etc. But, his tiny part time check while he was living with his mom in high school would have been stolen from him. The city pretty much kicked that boy out, and then said poor baby I'll help you now that you're suffering.

I was, and still am pretty angry about that situation. He ended up moving up the street with a friend who was having the same problem. Who in their right mind expects a teenager to work for free for the adult bills in the family?

I like to think of myself as "in my right mind," and you bet your ass that my kids are going to be giving back to the household in a few years as soon as they are able. I find it bizarre that this is somehow outrageous to you.

Where I live, kids are expected to help with the home work around or before age 10. Then chores, including outdoor work, including outdoor charity work for the neighbors and the elderly, around 10-12. As soon as they can find outside work, they do, and it would be retarded for a 14, 15, 16-year-old to have control over their own finances, or for all of their income to be their own, while all their food, health, education, and shelter is still being subsidized by mom and dad.

When they're old enough to start thinking about a car, they'll pay part or hopefully most of it, if not all. If they go to post-secondary, their expenses are their problem, minus whatever we've socked away in accounts for tuition (which they've contributed to).

This is not a quinceanera pretty prince-and-princess culture. We don't raise Little Lord Fauntelroys who go away to faggot college so they can live childless adult lives in a faraway City drinking craft IPAs and boba, eating bibimbap, sitting behind a desk sending emails to other indoor cats all their lives, thus ending family lines.

And they'll buy a new home on a single income from a job they got from a firm handshake and a tucked-in shirt, I'm sure.

– AllDueRespect 2 points 139 days ago +2 / -0

Could be! Though that sounds kind of like a faggot job, probably more desk-surfing, and I should hope not. Veterinary would be nice, there's a lot of need for that around here. Folks around here don't really expect to "get" a job, they mostly make them. If I get my way, we'll build them homes after we expand the property, which we can use some of the money saved from their teenager jobs for.

I understand you're being ironic. Do you find that fun?

YES. EXACTLY. Which is why it's important to introduce incremental service and self-reliance, rather than dropping the baby bird out of the nest all at once and expecting it to make a good run of it.

It's like those adults who sneer and scoff at kids in restaurants. They want them shuttered and instructed at home, to somehow learn how to behave in public, without ever actually practicing how to behave in public. That's weirdo thinking.

Which is what I think about "oh no no never have a teenager help with the family finances heavens no, they need that money to lift their honda civics with the undercarriage lights. They'll learn how to use a checkbook when they have to pay back a two-hundred-thousand-dollar loan for their black lesbian studies degree."

Here I am thinking they get it because their rich. Ive known people missing their legs who couldnt get disability but I know a guy in ohio who was given something like serotonin for rage issues. The doctor when he gave it to him, told him you cant drink alcohol, smoke weed, meth, crack, do cocaine because it could cause him to deplete his serotonin levels. He was getting drunk everynight anyway.

Got his mom to get a lawyer and file for disability because he could no longer tolerate being around people. He fucking got it too.

I actually started looking into what I would have to do to get disability and its fucking insane. Just having the medical proof is one component of it.

I have a referral to nephrology but its a 255 day wait for the 90th percentile. It took years of begging to make this happen and the 24 hour urine results.

I need a letter from nephrology to explain how renal tubule failure can cause the symptoms im experiencing. I need a bone dexa scan to show salt and pepper skull ( a tell tale sign of parathyroidism ) and severe bone loss.

Then on top of that I need someone to come out and watch me do shit like mow the yard and do dishes. Like what the flying fuck, all this for 800 fucking dollars a month? Im just going to go homeless, fuck this world lmao.

And all because some rich asshole for a million dollar company could save a few dollars on equipment and heating bills. Holy fuck, if you guys ever wonder why I am so fucking angry and hateful.

Whats super ironic, is I am willing to bet it would be much easier and quicker to get maid.

Stsr Trek: Learing Center is based on today's Ivy League schools.

Seriously, view the show as if all of the characters are either the fetal alcohol children of high ranking officers and diplomats or diversity hires and it makes total sense.

Hassidic Jews are notorious for this. They claim their religion requires them to study so much that they can't work, so almost all of them are on the entire gamut of welfare. Food stamps, Section 8 housing, the works.

If enterprising young Whites are doing this, too, I no longer give a shit. Whites should be forming their own ethnic enclaves and doing the same thing every one else is doing, scamming the system as hard as they can.

I read a few articles about this about a month ago. Basically, the kids abusing the disabolity support services are pulling the quality of the education down, and the people that don't want to have the quality of the education further degraded are being called abilests. There are students who should be receiving disability support (one example was of Rx'd adhd meds, then extra test time has already been assessed ) , that are refusing it because like this post is showing the schoolsknows it's being abused.

But, those schools were on the unofficial do not hire list long before they were on the official do not hire list. Last year high school guidance counselors were encouraging kids not to even apply to those schools because graduates errant getting hired.

My theory is the kids abusing the system would never have had a place at those schools if they weren't being avoided.

Yeah I refused to do that shit but it was an open secret/joke in both undergrad and law school that the easiest way to pass timed test was to claim a disability

The standards for ADHD have been broadened and relaxed, so many students take advantage of the accommodations that provide extra time for taking timed exams to those claiming ADHD.
