The left is saying its ok to ram government officials. Remember James Fields is serving 419 years for less. (twitter.com)

James Fields is a victim of a complete railroad job and he should have been sentenced for reckless driving at worst (or just nothing), not 419 years. We don't even sentence murderers and serial child molesters to 419 years, or anything close to it.

He's being punished for this woman's complete and utter lack of all discipline and inability to say no to more food.

yep, they made an example of him to show any other dissidents that their scumbag marxist mob is the protected class, not anyone else. And if you dare challenge it you will get all the hammers brought down on you.

You have 40 upvotes for a really ignorant statement. I don't disagree regarding Fields. He should have gotten a slap on the wrist. However, you can be damn sure we DO sentence people for much longer than Mr. Fields.

Did you think that I was referring to literally all murderers we sentence, or just the overwhelming majority of them?

He's a fucking midwit, I wouldn't bother. This is literally a meme.

"You have to pay taxes in America"

"Well my disabled veteran father doesn't"

This is the typical retard logic of a midwit.

Of course there's a few: the Beltway Snipers got consecutive life sentences, 13 iirc?

But the VAST majority of sentences are "concurrent". So 5 counts of child grape at 8 years each is not 40 years, it's only 8. That includes multiple murder convictions too, most of the time.

A woman (22) in my city stabbed (10+ times, iirc) her stepfather (who had raised her since her teens) to death for not giving her money to buy drugs. She interfered with paramedics: spitting on him and yelling "I hope you die". She got: 6 years. With time served awaiting trial she walked out of the courtroom "on probation". THAT is much more common than the Holmes conviction.

Fields was doubly unfortunate, because not only was he a wrongthinker while being White in the wrong place at the wrong time, he also had his moment before the zeitgeist really understood what we're dealing with in terms of modern day shitlibbery. At the time, people just took the story at face value and didn't really give a shit. If it happened today, things would be at least more covered, even if the outcome might be the same.

The Alex Fields thing is a bit complicated. He was definitely overcharged, and doesn't deserve his current situation.

There was also a ton of misinformation from both sides, so it's hard for me to unequivocally declare him completely innocent, either. I simply don't know.

I think the fact that he mainly hit another car, and not the crowd, is a bit mark in his favor. He's either an incredibly incompetent terrorist, or not a terrorist.

His car was definitely attacked, but a lot of the videos have been removed, so it's hard to say if it was attacked before or after the incident. I'm thinking before, but you could definitely make the counterargument too.

Lastly, and most importantly perhaps, he was definitely threatened previously. A leftist professor or TA (forget which) bragged openly about waving a rifle in his face before the incident. So Alex Fields definitely had a fucking gun pointed at him some time before he sped into the car/crowd.

Remind me next week when I get back from Magfest and I'll see if I can dig out the .gif I have buried somewhere in my unsorted meme folder. If I recall correctly it was pretty clear his car got smacked with a bludgeon before he started hauling ass through that crowd.

Absolutely, that would be awesome.

I'm also under the impression that it happened first, but I've argued with leftists that said the video was reversed or something...and since I couldn't find the video, I can't say for sure either way.

But my impression at the time was also that he was attacked first, panicked, and drove forward into another car.

Yes I've seen this video before and then it vanished from the internet one day, it was hard to tell exactly what item was used, but it could have been a plank, a bat, or even a large stick of some kind. You could even hear the impact of it on the car in the video.

Yup. Like I said, definitely overcharged. Does not deserve that in the slightest.

If he did do wrong, and it wasn't panic/self defense, he should still be charges in line with other similar incidents.

It was absolutely political, even if he were definitely a murderer.

Rule of law means nothing, if it's not applied equally.

Hate crime for political ideology, or something else? If it's the former, it makes me wonder why the countless attacks on anyone on the right never get charged that way.

I’ve got the video of the leftist professor if anybody wants it.

Note also, the police put up barricades on both side of the protest march to keep the protesters safe. Fields did not drive through a barricade. So what happened? Antifa moved the barricades in order to funnel traffic in. Fields was literally just trying to go home.

There was also a ton of misinformation from both sides, so it's hard for me to unequivocally declare him completely innocent, either.

Most times I have no idea what to believe, because it's one side saying A and the other side saying B - and I don't want to reflexively side with 'my tribe' (which I know also lies a lot).

A leftist professor or TA (forget which) bragged openly about waving a rifle in his face before the incident. So Alex Fields definitely had a fucking gun pointed at him some time before he sped into the car/crowd.

I wonder if this was presented to the jury, and if not, if it could be grounds for a new trial.

He got 400+ years, they'll absolutely never give him a new trial, if they can help it. Regardless of the facts.

In this case, we had video of the whole incident. An angry, armed, leftist mob was attacking cars, as they like to do, and he crashed into another car while trying to get away. None of the videos even show him making physical contact with the fatass who died.

The real reason why he was railroaded like that was because he was a member of Vanguard America, one of the groups organizing the protest and the predecessor to Patriot Front. They weren't just trying a man named Fields, they were trying a stand-in for the entire American right.

Asmongold brings the facts in brief yet informative fashion!

You can clearly see the "he approached with his gun drawn" is a lie.
The "she didn't mean to hit him" is also a lie.
That "he was blocking her car" not only doesn't matter? It's standard procedure.
& etc.

No matter how much you hate the Media, Leftists & Democrats? They hate you more.

This obsession with intent is retarded. Law and order can't be based on the unfalsifiable feelings of people. It's a straight road to bad faith actors being permanently innocent.

She was given a lawful order to stop. She disobeyed, recklessly tried to flee in her vehicle, and literally hit a federal officer. Minnesota courts have ruled that a vehicle is a deadly weapon in such situations, so the officer was perfectly within his rights to defend himself using deadly force.

Trying to suss out her "intentions" is idiotic. She could have a written sign on top of the car saying "I'm not trying to harm anyone", and that wouldn't change the reality of what she did.

Seriously, we need to get away from this "empathetic" bullshit that has infested our justice system. For one, it's a standard that is only ever applied to one side; no one on the left ever cares about a conservative criminal's "intentions". For two, we're in a cold civil war between people who hate each other. No one believes the other side's self-reported "emotion data".

I think leftists are pathologically dishonest because they don't believe in objective reality. Why would I permit their subjective testimony (aka lies) to mitigate circumstances in their favor? If society is going to mediate conflicts between groups who have every reason to lie about each other, then emperical evidence is all that matters.

Intent is irrelevant. If I go 100 mph in a school zone & hit some kids? "I didn't intend to hit them!" will not get charges dropped.

She was deliberately blocking the road to prevent ICE from doing their lawful duties. She was given a lawful order. She hit the gas on purpose and she actually did strike the officer who'd shot her.

One of the videos shows her hit the agent though. I'm not sure the mental intent of the driver negates any self defense argument, considering the successful contact. While also breaking the law.
