I didn't like the reboot and have recently noticed how liberal the original KOTH was. But it's unfair to call Bobby a cuck. He doesn't ask Connie out until she breaks up with Ted and tells her he's not interested in an ethically non-monogamous relationship. How is that being a cuck?
"Cuck" has lost most of its meaning in modern discourse, and most of the times its meaning is "is with a woman who wasn't a virgin" or even just "got disrespected by a woman."
Its the "Right's" version of things like "incel," where its use is meant to be emotionally charged rather than accurate. Because no one wants to be a "cuck" or even "defend cucking" so you can just use it liberally and everyone continues to go along with it.
I haven't watched, but from the context you provide I'd say that the idea is that he's not getting the girl he wants. Not because he needs to go on a hero's journey or exhibit character growth to win her, but specifically because the writers hate the character and what they represent (a white guy) and gleefully deny him what he wants.
"Cuck" might not be the best word for it but I'm not sure if there's a better one. They did the same thing to Ash in the Evil Dead TV series -- he spent the entire first season opining after the black chick character only to have her killed just at the moment that she stopped treating him like shit. (They even let him make out with "her" briefly before learning that it was a deadite mimicking her. I even called as soon as I saw it: there's no way they're actually letting Ash get something good. She's a deadite.)
And this was in addition to all the other ways that they humiliated his character.
It's a bit beta. If she wants to fuck other guys that's the hard line no exceptions. I would lose 100% attraction on the spot and ghost her completely.
Ritual humiliation called "entertainment." Soon it'll be all 1000+ channels of nothing but BMWF cuck porn and not watching will red flag you as an extremist.
Pretty sure KOTH was one of those shows making fun of conservatives but ended up making beloved characters, the Archie Bunker Effect. When liberals write conservatives honestly, they accidentally reveal how appealing conservative virtues like strength, independence, humor, loyalty & family actually are.
The episode with the black guy WAS mocking the situation. Bobby runs a fusion German-Japanese restaurant. The German heritage society is mad and the Asians are mad. When the Laotian Asians try to intercede, the Japanese get mad at the Laotians for Asians appropriating other Asians. Then there's the black dude adopted by Japanese, who threatens to claim racial discrimination against blacks. It's a shitshow. I thought it was funny.
Bobby is a player. He he hooked up with two different women before Connie. Connie was all into "ethical non-monogamy" but then when shit hit the fan, it was all just bullshit.
And yes, rewatching the original, it was racier than I remembered and sometimes more liberal than I remembered. Still funny.
They definitely made it racier and added a bunch of profanity. The liberalism was in the original run, which is weird because people at the time called it conservative propaganda.
I didn't even think it was supposed to make him look foolish or to mock him--it was making EVERYONE who was playing the race or cultural appropriation game look petty and selfish. Bobby was the only one who seemed reasonable!
The black Japanese dude seemed more funny cuz people like anthony horita exist on Japanese TV.. and he's def made fun of his black half from time to time.
The "first season" of a renewal from a big nostalgia show is always huge, and this convinces the execs to keep it going because "everyone clearly loved it!" Only for the following ones to recieve basically a fraction of the views.
Look at what happened to Futurama, its happened multiple times to that one show alone and every time it becomes a joke by the time the S2/3 finish.
I'm sure plenty of idiots watched it, but I doubt they will return in nearly the same numbers for more.
Futurama’s original run is some of my favorite television of all time. I’ve liked every subsequent season less and less, and I didn’t even bother with the most recent revival.
I wish I hadn't bothered. Beyond the quality dropping in general I couldn't get over the fact that fry had a different voice due to the aging actor and he was more of a background character.
I think most of the original run is still good to this day, minus maybe a few stinkers I've forgotten that every show has.
Everything from that moment on has been trash, and the only times it wasn't trash was when it was deliberately trying to manipulate you like the episode with his Mom trying to ape the Dog episode.
I still can't decide of the Evolution episode, the Gay marriage one or the not-Obama one is the most actually offensive thing I've seen a show try to pull. Not throwaway jokes like Family Guy or South Park, but full on no subtlety liberal propaganda spots.
Did you bother watching it? Bobby isnt cucked hes just an average guy trying to make his dream successful, the black japanese guy was adopted and it was a whole thing that nobody thought of him as japanese which made him butthurt, the woke crap is highlighted but the characters tend to avoid it and bring things back to what really matters.
The first season wasn't great but it was pretty good, definitly isnt woke
It doesn't matter if people want it. They want to make it.
You'll eat bugs. And you'll say you're happy.

Plus I think since it seems more conservative compared to all the other adult animated shows we dont notice how it’s still pretty liberal

Well Connie has always been a pos. Bobby standing up to her has been a plot point because she's a bitch due to her mother
The proper word is simp.
Being attracted to a woman but telling her you aren't interested in a relationship with her seeing other people makes one a simp?
It's a bit beta. If she wants to fuck other guys that's the hard line no exceptions. I would lose 100% attraction on the spot and ghost her completely.
So now Bobby is Beta. He's gone from Cuck to Simp to Beta.
Always was tbh, so this is "technically" character growth?
Ritual humiliation called "entertainment." Soon it'll be all 1000+ channels of nothing but BMWF cuck porn and not watching will red flag you as an extremist.
How did you get that from he waited until she was single and expressed his desire to date exclusively?
So he wanted to date her exclusively and she wasn't interested ...? What am I missing?
That she was interested and they did date

You hit the nail on the head
its cuckservative slop, "yeah i don't like da gender thing on da bathrooms but dis black guy is some real authentic japanese i'd tell u what!"
Why is it always blacks? Oh, right, because lefties REEEE'd at Shogun due to "orientalism".
The scene is retarded: "Ackhyually, you are the real racists for expecting a japanese guy to be asian", now do Musk being a real african.
To add insult to the injury, KoTH is relatively popular in japan, so this can't be a coincidence
The Japanese dub of King of the Hill is an experience.
I bet the episodes with Hank's Japanese brother are pretty funny in Japanese..

Yea I thought the black person was looking foolish or was supposed to be mocked
I didn't even think it was supposed to make him look foolish or to mock him--it was making EVERYONE who was playing the race or cultural appropriation game look petty and selfish. Bobby was the only one who seemed reasonable!
I thought it was a pretty good take, all in all.
Yea. Good point.
The black Japanese dude seemed more funny cuz people like anthony horita exist on Japanese TV.. and he's def made fun of his black half from time to time.
All revivals are faggot slop, never give them the time of day

Why would I watch a new show?
All I see is DEI.
Cause sometimes you just need a break from it all.
And that's when you watch something vintage.
Yeah, I can only watch the same shows and movies so many times.
So find something old that's new to you.
Lolz, there's not much worth watching that I havent already seen.
I think it is woke, but if you put woke on a spectrum it's on the lighter side.
There is a clear agenda to eradicate Japanese homogeneity
"goyim are people too"
Dales new voice and persona are what bothered me most.
