Wait, from what I heard, Tencent now has control over Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six seige and put then under the control of a new studio.
So was this Ubisoft or Tencent cleaning house away from the woke?
I read that Tencent basically confiscated them from Ubisoft because of poor decision making and lousy performance.
Essentially, it's weird that both the Chinese and Saudis are taking away these IPs because they view the Western devs as too stupid to make money from them..

It's not stupidity that made Western devs do what they did with these IPs... It was all by design. They knew what they were doing... The people who owned Ubisoft in the past see everyone who isn't one of them as sub human pieces of shit. They despise white people the most but apparently they also despise the Japanese. Most likely because the Japanese were willing to align themselves with the Nazis and fight to the death. Ubisoft was just a means to an end for them. And after they ruined it's reputation by using it as a means to an end, they sold it.

Honestly if you truly want to think out of the box make a game where you are a slave in the Ottoman Empire, or examines slavery of white people, or a slave in Africa getting people to fight the main slave kingdom in Africa
If they were to take things back to the old school style of AC games (and not the modern day open world ubislop), I always thought the golden age of Spain would make a kick ass time period.
Have someone like Antonio Banderas voice the protag, make them sauve and charismatic like Ezio was, maybe have the actual fucking assassins and templars back in the story. Spain was a pretty massive empire back in the day, fought wars, built colonies, conquered a huge chunk of the planet. It’s a narrative gold mine just sitting there mostly ignored by the franchise.
But yeah, they would need to have actual game designers on board and cut all the activist cancer out first. If there are still nigs, girl bosses or fuckin sweet baby anythings in the game it’s not worth even bothering.
Last Kingdom was such a breath of fresh air for making the anti-immigrant faction the good guys and really showing the foreign hordes as murderous rapists. If it were anything but Saxons vs. Vikings respectively it could've never gotten made. Ditto Britannia for the "diverse" Roman invaders being (admittedly sympathetic) villains to the ethnonationalist Celts.
It's why I liked that one comic about the ghost of a Confederate officer who acts as an ancestral guardian for his descendants in battle, and along the line one of them ended up being black. He was surprised at first, of course, but accepted his duty to his bloodline regardless. It was the black man, who had no knowledge of his history, who had a chip on his shoulder for the whole thing. Such a story would never be made today.
I wonder how a slapstick comedy in the style of Naked Gun/Hot Shots set in the Civil War would be received.

They showed it in AC Origins when they had Bayek’s cunt wife be stronger and smarter and better than him in every way, even cucking him in his own game to start the assassin “brotherhood” on her own while he stayed in Egypt to manage the brotherhood B-team. The next 2 games had canonically female main characters despite them supposedly being a Spartan and a Viking (fucking lol). And yeah, when the Yasuke backlash hit, they cut his parts in the game down to focus on pikachu (or whatever her name was).
So yep, they place the feminism on a higher pedestal than the diversity.

Glad to hear this, but I'm actually curious whether or not this happened before or after the election. If it happened before, it might have meant that Ubisoft was clearly starting to think they were headed for broke.
Just think, if they had done this one before Shadows, they could have managed a LOT more subversion. That choice of main character for the Japanese game setting truly ruined what they could have accomplished, because they had all that subversion screaming in your face shamelessly barely after the game itself had been revealed.

Indie titles have always driven the markets, and they will again. An indie or single-A game will get good accolades and sales, then the big business copycats will rush in once more.
That is a game that would have actually been more well received than Assassin's Creed: :Let's shit on the Japanese. Because it's more historically accurate than a black Samurai in Japan a long time ago. And not really trying to subvert anything. Yes, RDR2 is like that because you can fight the KKK in that game but it doesn't really make a lot of sense for Arthur Morgan, a white guy living in the 1800s to pick a fight with the KKK. The only reason you can do so in the game is because the game was made by leftists.
Specially if it was historically accurate... Back then KKK were all Democrats, they were local business owners that kept a secret.
