You can tell how the guys behind things like this know they are in the wrong, by the fact that they keep failing, all the way up to a SCOTUS fail a few decades ago, and they come back with larger and more generalized vague terms in the next one while cloaking it with the newest boogeyman technology of the day. It was computers in the 90s, photoshop in the 00s, deepfakes in the 10s and now its AI.

Like, the fact that they need to go with "appears to be" and "regardless of if its an actual child" (aka, regardless of it there is an actual victim), tells you that this is a bill not designed to protect anyone, but to be wielded offensively to take down industries or people they don't like using a "but think of the children!" cover.

There isn't going to be an easy out to killing lolishitters, especially with AI availability giving them a flood power, but every politician or crusader against it is happy to cut down every thing in the land just to reach the devil.

Even ignoring the loli question, I just dont understand what the point is. Sure, there are a lot of the Religious (almost always Catholic) Right that still pushes an anti-porn crusade....but they are the only ones. Everyone else, even most of the Right, disagrees with them. And much like how they are suddenly back to talking down on people who like video games and anime (even though, again, that is the majority of even the Right now), all this will do is ruin the imagine that the Right has gained over the last few years of being the cool and rebellious types who are now the actual guards of culture and makes them into the scolds of the 1990's all over again.

And of course, this is also before we get to the fact that there are plenty of people who are religious and still dont think it is the governments job to regulate this sort of stuff unless there are actual victims like children and sex trafficking (I am one of them).

Sure, there are a lot of the Religious (almost always Catholic) Right that still pushes an anti-porn crusade

Anti-porn guys are actually a growing contingent of the new Right, almost all hypocritically so as they usually have the same gooner stare and hobbies. Its a lot of really shortsighted guys trying to ban a symptom and hoping it....idk makes guys mad enough to burn it all down?

For the same reason most of them oppose video games and anime. Anything that gives guys escapism that isn't "useful" must be evil and opiate. Especially if you can associate a Jew with it. They have a list of "approved" things and everything else must be purged. And those things have no consistency or principle other than "old good."

There will come a time where we can/should deal with the porn/loli/neet issue with men, it is a plague on us all. But those are all downstream of much bigger and more destructive forces and it remains to be seen if fixing those will simply diminish everything below them.

I'm anti porn because I have struggled getting away from it and know it's power over me and other men. Society is so pornified i can't even get groceries without seeing half naked women walking around and pornish adverts everywhere.

That's perfectly reasonable. Its not a really healthy outlet and shouldn't be so widely accepted in our faces. EPI is one of the leading causes of trannies, gays and likely sexual crimes, in my opinion.

But attempting to control it at this juncture through legislation and bans is shortsighted and doomed to fail, likely in such a way it forever taints any future attempts to do so like Prohibition did for alcohol.

Giving guys an out, a space to "detox" from it without falling into obsession, and general social/community efforts to remove it are absolutely laudable. Fixing gender relations and removing a lot of the Jews behind it from power should be high priority. But that must also come with the knowledge that snakes and malicious people will try to wear your cause as a cloak in a manner much like the bill being talked about.

It really isn't. Maybe back in the day when you could spank it to a Playboy that wasn't really anymore spicy than your average European TV ad that shows topless women. Now there are teenagers conditioned on brutal DVDA before they're even of legal age to look at it in the first place. We weren't meant to regulate that kind of dopamine overdose.

gooner stare

I'm legitimately afraid to look that up. Is this like the 1000 cock stare for incels?

In the spirit of this topic and almost verbatim how anti-porn laws are literally written in America:

That may have been the case in the 1990's, but I think the real issue is that the scientific literature around porn is actually fucking damning. It's becoming clear that the level of pornography being consumed by young men is actually damaging their brains like a drug would, and screwing with their conscious understanding of human relationships.

Besides creating a weird dopamine addiction, and creating maladaptive behavior patterns, it also seems to be setting wrong expectations for men towards their sexual partners and then it causes resentment and dissatisfaction in men with their partners because those wrong expectations are unfulfilled.

Even I, as a kind of minarchist, have to admit that access to pornography probably does need to be more restricted by some structure in society because of it's damage. Sargon said something about this once that is simply indisputable: "You've seen more breasts in your twenties than your grand-parents saw in their lives." and that must have an effect. It simply can't, not, have an effect.

I'm not saying we need to go down the Tipper Gore route, but clearly what we're doing now is actually really destructive, and may be one of the causes of our current demographic black-hole.

Adyn Paladin did two major looks into the scientific literature on porn:

  • The Porn-Paradox: Effects of Erotica on Mind and Body
  • The Porn-Paradox 2: Effects of Erotica on Society

Oh, I am absolutely not disagreeing that something has gone wrong here. I am not pretending to be some prude and will I have spanked that monkey plenty in my time. But while I never fell down the path of "Must get more and more hardcore to feel something", I have seen plenty of people getting into straight up Slaanesh territory. So I can entirely agree that we need to find a way for people to moderate their porn habits (since I dont believe we can ever truly get rid of it without panopticon-tier surveillance) and regulate the porn industry.

It is simply that while I agree with the idea that we must, there is also that nerve picking up in the back of my head saying that tyrants always go for the deviants first because it gets their foot in the door, and so you must be extremely cautious of it, and I dont particularly trust many of the people pushing it.

Porn addiction is an overrated concept.Dealing with the finer aspects is what's needed.

Sargon said something about this once that is simply indisputable: "You've seen more breasts in your twenties than your grand-parents saw in their lives."

I think it was Peterson that said it but who cares. If anything it's good for demystifying women.

Demystifying women isn't necessarily a good thing. At a certain point, you have to accept romance into a relationship. Society can't be purely objectively transactional.

Porn is bad, harmful, damaging, etc. Absolutely.. Anyone saying otherwise is ignorant, coping, or, at best, hasn't fallen into overconsumption yet.

But censorship is worse. Much worse.

Retarded and ineffectual censorship is worse still, and actually counterproductive.

Despite some odd ages of fictional 2D characters, Japanese media often makes a stronger argument for Western Values™, individualism, the heroic journey, and excellence than the West has made in decades. Leave it to retard "conservatives" in Texas to go after this...while Hollywood is shoveling woke gay retarded trannies down everyone's throats.

Priorities, bros.

If you're going to go after drawn art, please go after the anti-Western, anti-human shit Hollywood et al are churning out, first, at least. It wouldn't make the former correct necessarily, but you'd at least have a more compelling argument! Go after the problem, then go after the "problematic" elements, if you must. At least we'd be getting something for it, in that case.

I mean you can have something be illegal without blanket censoring actual stuff. People just don't care enough to distinguish between degenerate lewd material and shit like anime.

Probably couldn't have picked a better thumbnail to support their bill though...

My problem with these efforts is that they never want to actually address the real problem, because the economy is addicted to exploiting real children for profit. They always go after the porn problem, but never the exploitation problem. Yes, computers and the Internet have done unimaginable damage to our youth, but it is absolutely not restricted to sexuality at all. I imagine they focus on porn because certain types of people become so irate when the concept is brought up that they cease being capable of parsing anything else related to the situation.

If you actually cared about real children, maybe consider addressing how the Internet is becoming increasingly tailored to facilitating real girls becoming sex workers. Porn is bad for people, I get it, but there are a million issues right now which are far more directly harmful to actual children.

Apparently the reason Bleach is banned is because of a panel with Ichigo sleeping with his hand on his crotch.

Same for Dragonball, because of the early scene with Goku(recently removed from living alone in the wilds as a child) checks peoples genders by patting their crotch before getting chastised for it.

Doesn't ban lolis, nudity of children isn't banned. Just hands on crotches, defecating, some sex acts.

Need to reread the final version, seemed like an earlier one at least also banned anything that could be used for a game, like tic tac toe, and to draw a depiction of a stick figure with a hand on its crotch could get banned as a felony offense to have a deleted copy of on your hard drive. So possible MS paint, even MS Notepad or a bucket of gravel.

Also barely bans AI generated stuff like advertised because it only bans possession not, production, so they can just store the seed and prompt and not be in violation.

This bill reminds me of the bill the Hastert run house passed in the early 2000s for AI generated child porn. It was just to distract from Hastert himself being a pederast (later convicted of molesting underage teenage boys). Wonder which person this bill is meant to distract from.

Any time someone shouts to the rooftops "people like me, but definitely not me, are without exception bad people, except for me, and need laws reigning them in!", that person should probably be deeply investigated.

This should be basic standard procedure. I believe the bible put it "judge not lest ye be judged": Judge them. Some, I assume, are good people, even if their ideals are draconian and oppressive, and their policies can simply be voted "nay" against. The rest... You'd probably solve half of all crimes just by checking in with those who suspiciously highlight themselves in desire to clamp down on people like themselves (but totally not themselves specifically).

Here is the text so people can decide for themselves and if they don't want to watch the video where he does explain some parts and glosses over others. (full amendment at https://legiscan.com/TX/text/SB20/2025)

Sec. 43.235. POSSESSION OR PROMOTION OF OBSCENE VISUAL MATERIAL APPEARING TO DEPICT CHILD.

(a) In this section: (1) "Promote" has the meaning assigned by Section 43.25. (2) "Visual material" has the meaning assigned by Section 43.26.

(b) A person commits an offense if the person knowingly possesses, accesses with intent to view, or promotes obscene visual material containing a depiction that appears to be of a child younger than 18 years of age engaging in activities described by Section 43.21(a)(1)(B), regardless of whether the depiction is an image of an actual child, a cartoon or animation, or an image created using an artificial intelligence application or other computer software.

  • “Promote” means to procure, manufacture, issue, sell, give, provide, lend, mail, deliver, transfer, transmit, publish, distribute, circulate, disseminate, present, exhibit, or advertise or to offer or agree to do any of the above.

  • “Visual material” includes ... "any image transmitted to a computer or other video screen by telephone line, cable, satellite transmission, or other method"

  • The activities described by Section 43.21(a)(1)(B):

I'm kind of concerned about this myself. I'll be in Texas soon. I don't watch much anime lately, unless its Gundam related. Gundam at its core is just a sci-fi war drama using power suits. There isn't anything lewd that happens in the shows, no more than a sex scene in a rated R movie if it even goes to that point. I don't think I'll be in trouble for own 30+ Gundam kits but is someone going to flag me for just even having this collection because some fan way out there probably has "fan art" of a more lewd nature?

But it's not like you need this information to know OP is a faggot for posting a cringe vtuber clickbaiting, that's apparent from the jump.
