You can tell how the guys behind things like this know they are in the wrong, by the fact that they keep failing, all the way up to a SCOTUS fail a few decades ago, and they come back with larger and more generalized vague terms in the next one while cloaking it with the newest boogeyman technology of the day. It was computers in the 90s, photoshop in the 00s, deepfakes in the 10s and now its AI.

Like, the fact that they need to go with "appears to be" and "regardless of if its an actual child" (aka, regardless of it there is an actual victim), tells you that this is a bill not designed to protect anyone, but to be wielded offensively to take down industries or people they don't like using a "but think of the children!" cover.

There isn't going to be an easy out to killing lolishitters, especially with AI availability giving them a flood power, but every politician or crusader against it is happy to cut down every thing in the land just to reach the devil.

Even ignoring the loli question, I just dont understand what the point is. Sure, there are a lot of the Religious (almost always Catholic) Right that still pushes an anti-porn crusade....but they are the only ones. Everyone else, even most of the Right, disagrees with them. And much like how they are suddenly back to talking down on people who like video games and anime (even though, again, that is the majority of even the Right now), all this will do is ruin the imagine that the Right has gained over the last few years of being the cool and rebellious types who are now the actual guards of culture and makes them into the scolds of the 1990's all over again.

And of course, this is also before we get to the fact that there are plenty of people who are religious and still dont think it is the governments job to regulate this sort of stuff unless there are actual victims like children and sex trafficking (I am one of them).

Sure, there are a lot of the Religious (almost always Catholic) Right that still pushes an anti-porn crusade

Anti-porn guys are actually a growing contingent of the new Right, almost all hypocritically so as they usually have the same gooner stare and hobbies. Its a lot of really shortsighted guys trying to ban a symptom and hoping it....idk makes guys mad enough to burn it all down?

For the same reason most of them oppose video games and anime. Anything that gives guys escapism that isn't "useful" must be evil and opiate. Especially if you can associate a Jew with it. They have a list of "approved" things and everything else must be purged. And those things have no consistency or principle other than "old good."

There will come a time where we can/should deal with the porn/loli/neet issue with men, it is a plague on us all. But those are all downstream of much bigger and more destructive forces and it remains to be seen if fixing those will simply diminish everything below them.

I'm anti porn because I have struggled getting away from it and know it's power over me and other men. Society is so pornified i can't even get groceries without seeing half naked women walking around and pornish adverts everywhere.

That's perfectly reasonable. Its not a really healthy outlet and shouldn't be so widely accepted in our faces. EPI is one of the leading causes of trannies, gays and likely sexual crimes, in my opinion.

But attempting to control it at this juncture through legislation and bans is shortsighted and doomed to fail, likely in such a way it forever taints any future attempts to do so like Prohibition did for alcohol.

Giving guys an out, a space to "detox" from it without falling into obsession, and general social/community efforts to remove it are absolutely laudable. Fixing gender relations and removing a lot of the Jews behind it from power should be high priority. But that must also come with the knowledge that snakes and malicious people will try to wear your cause as a cloak in a manner much like the bill being talked about.

gooner stare

I'm legitimately afraid to look that up. Is this like the 1000 cock stare for incels?

I'm assuming it's the million porn vid stare, or something, yeah.

In the spirit of this topic and almost verbatim how anti-porn laws are literally written in America:

You know it when you see it.

That may have been the case in the 1990's, but I think the real issue is that the scientific literature around porn is actually fucking damning. It's becoming clear that the level of pornography being consumed by young men is actually damaging their brains like a drug would, and screwing with their conscious understanding of human relationships.

Besides creating a weird dopamine addiction, and creating maladaptive behavior patterns, it also seems to be setting wrong expectations for men towards their sexual partners and then it causes resentment and dissatisfaction in men with their partners because those wrong expectations are unfulfilled.

Even I, as a kind of minarchist, have to admit that access to pornography probably does need to be more restricted by some structure in society because of it's damage. Sargon said something about this once that is simply indisputable: "You've seen more breasts in your twenties than your grand-parents saw in their lives." and that must have an effect. It simply can't, not, have an effect.

I'm not saying we need to go down the Tipper Gore route, but clearly what we're doing now is actually really destructive, and may be one of the causes of our current demographic black-hole.

Adyn Paladin did two major looks into the scientific literature on porn:

  • The Porn-Paradox: Effects of Erotica on Mind and Body
  • The Porn-Paradox 2: Effects of Erotica on Society

Oh, I am absolutely not disagreeing that something has gone wrong here. I am not pretending to be some prude and will I have spanked that monkey plenty in my time. But while I never fell down the path of "Must get more and more hardcore to feel something", I have seen plenty of people getting into straight up Slaanesh territory. So I can entirely agree that we need to find a way for people to moderate their porn habits (since I dont believe we can ever truly get rid of it without panopticon-tier surveillance) and regulate the porn industry.

It is simply that while I agree with the idea that we must, there is also that nerve picking up in the back of my head saying that tyrants always go for the deviants first because it gets their foot in the door, and so you must be extremely cautious of it, and I dont particularly trust many of the people pushing it.

I agree with you on all of this. My problem is I don't know where the line is supposed to be. I don't disagree with your concern.

Porn addiction is an overrated concept.Dealing with the finer aspects is what's needed.

Sargon said something about this once that is simply indisputable: "You've seen more breasts in your twenties than your grand-parents saw in their lives."

I think it was Peterson that said it but who cares. If anything it's good for demystifying women.

Demystifying women isn't necessarily a good thing. At a certain point, you have to accept romance into a relationship. Society can't be purely objectively transactional.
