He is a useful tool that is, IMO, doing far more good than harm. Unlike literally every other president in my adult lifetime who have been net negative influences on the USA.
I am going back to college in my mid thirties at one of the biggest state schools in the nation. My white english teacher who is my age? Furious about being racist for her creative and autobiographical works from growing up in the ghetto. I bring up the awards becoming subverted and she was well aware of that fact. Destroying DEI? She's all on board with. She said she considers herself a Bush era Democrat.
I learned that on the first day meeting and connecting with her. Three weeks later? I literally brought up this executive order with an eye roll, "maybe holy wars are back on the menu".
The best that I could tell, the order uses the IHRA definition of antisemitism:
Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities
However, it relies on existing civil rights law for teeth. It seems unclear if this will be used to prosecute anti-Israel movements like BDS, or just actual literal anti-semitic racism.
They'll probably focus on people who support hamas and other militant organizations that work towards genocide. In a just world, this would also include the Israeli government, but something tells me they will give Israel a pass.
The main part is "to prosecute, remove, or otherwise hold to account the perpetrators of unlawful anti-Semitic harassment and violence."
If it's already illegal then of course it should be prosecuted. It seems mostly directed at preventing colleges from knowingly harboring pro-Hamas crazies, which is good. The bad part is that it doesn't also root out pro-Zionist crazies from teaching our kids as well.
You should have expected it because Trump has always been pro-Israel and pro-semitic, unabashedly so. This isn't some slide he is pulling after lowering your guard with good stuff. This has always been part of what he was going to do, unfortunate as it is.
You spent forever dooming about him, you didn't come upon the mountains of "Zion Don" material during that time?
This is what zognald is about. Keeping Jewish interests and Jewish aupremacy safe in the USA. They will throw a few bones to the dogs, like deporting a few Venezuelan small time drug dealers that the government has been using to terrorize Americans with, and roll back tranny child mutilations in a few select situations, but this is really about keeping the zog ship from totally capsizing.
Context is everything. The original order was to prevent federal employees from illegally boycotting working with IZ because of personal preference. Emps from various government agencies were saying they weren't going to do their jobs because it involved doing work or sending things that specifically went to IZ. That is illegal.
People currently in gov emp are doing this again. They feel they shouldn't have to work with IZ or be in any way associated with an administration that supports IZ to this EO comes out... again. Do your job or leave. Petulant child rants and refusing will get fired for cause.
I'll never support this type of thing.
We already have way too many special protections for everyone except white men.
And there it is. I knew shit was going too well.
Eh, at this point, I say dial it up to 11.
There's a lot of noticing going on. This won't make that go away.
The sooner they try to go after citizens for free speech, the sooner this gets thrown out in court.
brb legally changing name to Maybe It Happened But It Wasn't Six Million
(((Court)))
I agree. I'm under no pretense that Zion don is going to save us.
"Save us" is the wrong framing.

ADL came to Elons rescue about the nazi salute hoax super quick. I'm guessing they backed this horse for a reason
War with Iran most likely.
how about linking the actual order?

written as an extension of the 2019 EO here https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/DCPD-201900859/html/DCPD-201900859.htm

Now, I wonder where the line is drawn between "hate" and objective criticism?

That's up to Judge Steinbergwitz to decide
It's not actually that bad of an order.

neither are any of the government's business
Your rights end where jewish interests begin.

This is a violation of freedom of speech
I expected something bad to come since things were going better than I expected.

I agree with you completely and I expected something like this from him

u/Gizortnik he's cutting israhell's funding any time now.
Probably not, but it would be nice.
Israel has to be the last to fall.
No sooner.
Until then, play the game.
Are you retarded?
If he was retarded, could he tell you?
I've never heard a retard say "I'm retarded".
