"How dare this entrepreneur not stay in our country and work for free for us!?"
Socialism is parasitism. They can't survive without leeching off of others, which is why "Containment" is actually a successful strategy that they considered to be an open attack on them. Additionally, it proves making peace with China was Nixon's truly greatest sin.
"So I tried to build a tech company from Norway and here’s what happened:
I’m Norwegian and I love Norway but the socialist politicians are taking the country down a dark path. It’s a real life Atlas Shrugged."
Just look at the Karen in charge of the wall.
That's at least a GigaKaren.
What does Karen Boss Music sound like? Megolovania? Sonic 2's Eggman Theme?
I assume it would be this.
I don't think it's menacing enough.
Also, I see you, and I raise you the sight-read version of that song played by a professional ragtime pianist.
Might as well break-out the Rush E on piano then.
An Eminem song.
smug cunt face.
the kind of person that gets off on undermining people who are actually better than her.
she absolutely goes out of her way to smell her own farts.
Socialists are always so willing to take and then spend the money of others. It really is quite strange, as though they never learned the value of a dollar... er, kroner.
People don't want to discuss the solutions to socialism. Universal suffrage democracy for example breeds socialism. You'll never avoid socialism so long as you give everyone in society equal say. It's just the law of statistics and how things work.
There is no political path to removing the franchise.
That is part of what makes democracies inevitably collapse.
Unrealized Capital Gains Tax is a categorical evil.
While it is an excellent way to kick elderly retired people onto the streets, to kill them off, and lower the overall age of your population... It also helpfully only allows large megacorporations to operate, with the government's blessing. Corporate-assisted socialism... What was the word for the party with that philosophy again?
Oh right, the Fascist party. The word gets bandied about so much I almost forgot its original meaning! Literally Norway.
'Unrealized gains taxes'' is insane. And the people who it would be hypothetically ''ethical'' to target this with, already shielded themselves from nearly all of it.
Notice it only goes one way too. There's no tax deduction for unrealized capital losses
Successful people don’t need or want the government interfering in their lives. That’s why governments do everything they can to prevent success.
A wealth tax implemented sanely that replaced income, sales, and fee based revenue generation could be a good thing.
In general the tax burden should fall on the investor class over the wage class. Though the government should be small enough that the overall tax burden should be considered trivial.
One big place I would really like to see a wealth tax (instead of an income tax) is a rent on IP, ballpark would be maybe .75% but I haven't done the math in a while. The implementation would be that the IP holder is required to set his own value, and there is an open auction for the IP with a starting bid of that value. If anybody bids then the bidder can buy the IP by paying the holder then pay the tax. If nobody buys it then the IP holder pays the tax as his set value, if he fails to pay the tax the IP goes into the public domain.
This would of course be a part of a comprehensive tax reform that moved taxes away from income and consumption to tariffs and other methods that directly impact corporations more than they do individuals.
Fee based revenue generation is the only fair system. Why you'd want to get rid of that is beyond me.
I'd want a tax-free then a taxed period of IP, to still encourage development of that IP by smaller players. Just allowing everything to be 'eminent domained' by the blackrocks of the world OR you have to set your own tax-rate higher than realistic to your wildest dream evaluation seems like a poor system for innovation.
At a reasonable enough tax rate that wouldn't necessarily be an issue. If the idea is really promising then investors would happily front the tax. Or if a modder could get 10k from a game publisher for a project he was working on in his spare time that seems like a win.
Oh, no, shame! Better go back and let the thief rob you blind.
What the fuck
Easy. They can make trash like dustborn and get years of funding lol.
The UK recently had their budget and I could just hear accountants, business leaders and commentators disgusted at the various taxes they levied at the richest. Their suggestion, do the complete reverse of Norway, have the Government actively rescind its manifesto promise on the grounds of changed circumstances and increase taxes substantially on the poorest while reducing or abolishing taxes for the richest and if pensioners, families and children suffer, so be it. This isn't some fringe, edgy commentary channel on YouTube or Rumble this was said on, this was on mainstream media outlets such as BBC Radio 4.
The problem with people arguing for no taxes on the wealthy is that the Government then has to levy taxes on the poorest and the middle classes which leads to emigration, suffering and indigenous flight while illegally entering immigrants won't care and will continue as normal. You will have your indigenous population leave the country either by flight or body bag.
Illegals are always coming for the free gibs.
So cutting spending is one way of stopping them.
I get the suspicion that cutting spending for illegal immigrants will be the last thing they do. They're more likely to allow indigenous pensioners to freeze first for their ideology.
Why are they being allowed to leave in the first place? they need to close off the borders so nobody can come in to scam benefits and nobody can leave to evade taxes. Shame isnt enough.
Imagine being an unironic statist.
