It's Rupee and Sweetie (Rupee's nickname for the Commander/[You]) from NIKKE. Honestly not sure what the issue is here. Rupee is a fashion designer in society, but also has to hide her status as Nikke (robot-bodied soldier) from the public. Problem with the style in which she's drawn? Maybe, but she's definitely an adult.
Or maybe it's that it is two consenting romantic (Whites/Asians).
There are adult Nikkes and child Nikkes in the game. You can bond with the adult ones like two adults would, and the children would like a fun uncle would. Anyone saying otherwise is weird, or hasn't played the game.

Agreed. The animation in particular is garbage. The grotesque proportions they give to facial features and bodies are fully in the uncanny valley. If they were making a comic about some alien race, sure. But those aren't human.

I'm not sure you understand what uncanny valley is. It is about it getting closer (too close) to human looks and thus making people uncomfortable, which anime never has been and never would be, its a cartoon and always has been.
You guys just simply do not like the art style, almost no series out there aims for realism in the way its humans look, although there are a handful out there that go for a more grounded style.
As opposed to... what? Rick and Morty? South Park? Loony Toons? What western cartoon art style are you so enamored with by comparison?
I see we are in full "the reasons I don't like this are petty and dumb, better use a buzzword to make it sound more valid" mode. If the proportions are grotesque, then its moving away from the uncanny valley because its becoming clearly inhuman.
If you don't have the words to explain why you don't like something, just say that. We all have our varied tastes in aesthetics.
Perhaps it has something to do with the artist or characters involved? If any of them have attracted fanatical "shippers," the artist might have made the grave mistake of publicly posting something that goes against someone's tulpa's fan-canon.
Not sure why that would be something here. 90% or more of the named Nikkes are "for you." Anyone that has a problem with that shouldn't even be playing the game, as it's not even subtle how intimate the bond stories can get.
