They do. There are signs everywhere in Chinese on how not to be dick, the announcements over the subway, bus, train stations, etc. are broadcasted in Mandarin, Korean, Japanese and English. There is no excuse.
They have fucking signs on the bathroom stall with pictures on how to sit on a toilet (not squat, big X on the image) its hilarious. Funny enough, these signs are only in Chinese, lol!.

There was a group of Chinese tourists near the check-in kiosks and the Thai dude working one of the counters made an announcement. The group of Chinese, in a group of about 20, loudly descend on this poor guys station--just shouting and absolute chaos--and we look at each other like, "I know, man. What the heck just happened?"
They let their kids shit and piss wherever. Busy street? No problem.
I remember watching this solo Chinese girl tourist renting a motorbike in Thailand while I was having a drink with my old bar friends. Just stopping the middle of traffic to check things like her phone, causing almost several dozen accidents in the short period I saw her. When she did drive, she was all over the freaking place. She stopped at the bar and I helped her with some translation stuff--absolutely zero self-awareness.
They're just clueless and inconsiderate and loud. Nothing exists to them outside of their wants when they're on vacation. I'm almost jealous; if I acted like them, as a white guy in a foreign country, I'd probably make fucking headlines.
Hong Kongers are some of the coolest people on the planet. I really hope that mainland immigration doesn't screw you guys over more than it already has. I remember seeing differences between the late 00's when I was there and roughly 2015.
My mom went back last year. Said that on weekends theyd go eat in shenzen instead of hong kong because it was cheaper. And mainland chinese goes to hong kong to flaunt their money around with arrogance. Many are super rude as well. Also making real estate much much more expensive. Thus makes everything else more expensive. Not really worth going back.
Then you have the same problem as usa with anchor babies. Mainland chinese trying to sneak pregnancies in hong kong. To get government housing and what not.
That's how they drive in the mainland. Traffic laws are mere suggestions. I've seen some of them even drive in the opposite direction of the lane markers
