Yep, Meritocracy in the west hasn't been a thing for a LONG time even in roles that are more critical. The only reason some roles have no women in them is because women themselves are too terrified to do it (North Sea workers, oil drilling etc)
It's also why there's been more shit breaking down as when you combine this with diversity hiring, we are lacking the talented people needed to improve and develop tools since we disenfranchised them for being men, usually White men, and the people you hired have no idea how to maintain what's there.
And while it can be a problem that could be at least maintained if you have one company doing it, the problem is magnified wildly when every company and supplier in the entire logistical chain is doing it.
*every company forced by the government.
This is forced “diversity” there is no sane reason for grandma to be getting paid the same to work at Home Depot when the male employees have to do all the physical labor for her.
I faced this upwards of 10 years ago working at Target when I had just graduated Highschool and was attending trade school at night.
I had to be at Target at 5am to unload the trucks every morning. Prolly half the employees on the shift were women.
For some reason, even tho we all had the same job title, women never got picked to unload the trucks and instead got to mill about on the floor, putting clothes on racks and shelves.
Which mind you, wouldn't bother me since they're weak and the physical labor of throwing boxes off of a full semi trailer is hard, but they got paid more than the men almost universally (we asked around how much they made as they were friendly sorts, I don't blame them for the situation I blame management) while doing much less important work.
The Store Manager was a 40 something year old, childless, bitter wench. Because obviously that's how the situation came to be. A man hater put in charge of 50/50 men and women heavily favored the women, big wow
Not necessarily. The government forces some of it, but plenty of activists have infiltrated keystone positions of power in PR, HR, Advertising, and Finance that they are prepared to kill companies, rather than sacrifice the ideology. "Diversity is the only way to make money going forward!"
The government forced women in, women took easy jobs like hr and co-opted hiring
The government never forced women in since the 1940's. This is just political activism and luxury ideologies.
They most certainly did. Affirmative action policies by the government forced women into companies and forced “diversity” for companies that contracted with the government. The revised Philadelphia plan 1969: A federal policy requiring government contractors to set “goals and timetables” for integrating and diversifying their workforce.
Sure, but never to the extent that we see every single industry fighting tooth and nail to remove the population of men working under them. That exists only post 2012, and it's not from government action, it's from ideological captivity.
And don't forget the big investment banks like Blackrock and Vanguard, using our 401ks to pressure every publicly traded company into Didn't Earn It policies.
Correct.
Not sure about this guy in particular but when I was at my previous company there was a not so secret rule that any woman that applied would get the position, I was part of those who would test their technical skills.
It was at a level where a guy that had skills, not perfect but better then most, had passion for tech but got turned down for having less then 5 years experience but a woman that had no relevant experience got the position. Even heard the manager talk to some senior manager on how they need to hire all woman that apply.
What do you guys do with guys that claimed to be women and showed up for interview
Never happened as long as I was there but I assume they would be double important to get them.
Funny story, at one point they imported some muslims from Canada and some arab country just because we didn't have muslims. In order to bring them over they offered them more money then their colleagues so it ended with a lot of guys just leaving.
And you wonder why so many guys are trooning out now
Admiral Dick Levine got his promotion to the top of his field by merely wearing a dress and some lipstick.
If there’s no need to do an actual transition- what’s to stop me doing the same next time I change jobs?
Standards and is the equivalent of being a liar
The gender bias that the media will not talk about.
Aren't trenders notorious for prevarication and deception? It's also Reddit, where 99% of every anecdote is fake.
Reddit + trender = <insert dubious meme>
Yeah, but so are women.
It's written entirely from the "mass market" perspective. So to the extent they're talking about FAANG and companies of similar scale I don't doubt their experience. To the extent it represents the actual job market or that it has anything to do with running your own business it's total fucking garbage.
More "the tiny corner of America I confine myself to isn't exactly to my liking" retardation.
Cope.
Move.
Don’t need to move. This is my home, not theirs.
Yea. Sure looks like it. You are totally in charge.
Ok Pajeet, I’ll remember that.
It's called easy mode for a reason
Particularly in CS, the bias is extreme because there's such demand to have 50-50 gender parity in a field that is 90-10 men.
I mean I'll go to work in a dress if it let's me move up to a position I don't "qualify" for with a 30% bump in pay. They get someone who is competent and fills a quota, I get more money, it's a win-win.
After a week I'll say that skirts and dresses are a thing of the patriarchy so it's slacks and dress shirts from now on.
You go sister. Smash that glass ceiling. Don’t let the patriarchy oppress you. No need to chop off your 🐓🏀🏀.
My girl penis? I need that for all the lesbian relationships I'll be having.
Based.
OK, now tell them you don't drive
Someone tell this troon to now pretend he's a black lady or an Arabic lady.
He'll get even more responses.
that's about right
