The guy who played Joe Dirt. Another SNL comedian. Also kind of based. Back in 2008 Phoenix PD was complaining they were having cartel problems and Spade gave them $100k to buy a bunch of AR-15s.
The little blond guy that follows Adam Sandler around. Him and the fat guy from King of Queens are like Adam Sandler's best buddies. Always in each other's films. None of them have made anything amazing in well over a decade and having recently watched some of their older flicks... I think they were 90s schlock that got over hyped and we're probably pushed hard by somebody powerful.
Pluto Nash was a career killer years later. No matter what you thought about Eddie Murphy by then, that film was a dumpster fire that was riddled with production problems, budget concerns, and regret from everyone involved.
The joke wasn't made in 1996, it was made in 95 after a run of Another 48 Hrs, Boomerang, and Beverly Hills Cop 3, and Vampire in Brooklyn. Clearly his star power was wanning.
It was just a joke about a bad movie Eddie Murphy was in. Hell, David Spade could have said Beverly Hills Cop III was a bad movie. Eddie Murphy has said so himself many times. Still took a 15 million dollar paycheck from it though.
I'm pretty sure the only reason Beverly Hills Cop 4 is being made is to keep the copyright name, because they waited until what seems to be the very last minute before copyright changes hands to do something with the name.

Murphy was the first example I encountered in life of somebody milking black victimhood. I was totally race-blind as a kid growing up in a melting pot inner city area, with friends from Nigeria, Trinidad, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam... So it was jarring and shocking to me when I saw the cool funny guy from Beverly Hills Cop in interviews, insisting that he was looked down on for being black. I remember him insisting to an interviewer that 'when you look at me, you think "black" - you don't just see a man you see a "black man"'. It didn't make any sense at all to me as a kid.
Welp, I grew up and Eddie got what he wished for, although he helped the prophecy fulfil itself.

Ironic, given that a huge part of his act during his "peak," and a lifelong feud since, involved him literally shitting on Bill Cosby for daring to make black men look respectable and presentable. You know, the guy whose work took black guys from "the ones who say nigger and make shows about the ghetto" as they were prior.
So the racism angle is just him making it "clickbait' worthy, otherwise this entire quote would be a joke about a long hasbeen whining that people were allowed to be mean to him. Including David Cuck Space agreeing that people doing that hurts like so bad guys.

Charlie was the better Murphy.
He also cucked out as early as the 90's over his gay jokes in Raw and Delirious. Jokes which btw are still hilarious.
