Not entirely on topic, but I know that if I post it literally anywhere else, they'll ban me for noticing things.

I went into a Burger King a few days back, and I was standing in line with a few people ahead of me. One of them was a little boy of about 6 or 7 years old, and who I would later find out is his grandma was with him. They were white, by the way. The kid orders some kinda frozen drink (not sure what they call it offhand), and he was very polite and well-spoken, despite his age. Grandma asks him if he'd like anything else, and he orders a chicken wrap. After that, the grandma orders her stuff and then they step aside for the next person in line to place their order.

While they're waiting for their food, a pair of preteen black boys comes up to the counter (they'd been sitting at a booth talking loudly up to this point), cutting in front of everyone and is like "Hey! Could we get 2 water cups!?", and so the cashier has to stop what she's doing and give these two rude black kids a pair of small cups. Meanwhile, little white boy stands there off to the side and watches the entire exchange.

Sure enough, the black kids walk over to the soda machine with their free "water cups" and put soda in them.

And to my surprise, this little white boy goes "I knew it! I knew they were gonna do that! I knew they were gonna steal the soda!". The grandma tries to shush him, but the cashier just laughs and is like "Yeah, it happens...". Nobody did anything about the black kids, of course.

So the kid and his grandma get their food, and go to sit down. Right around that time, a black mother and two little kids, probably a little younger than the white kid, come in to the BK.

I get my food right after that, and I sit down over near where the white kid and his grandma are. The kid has been having his frozen drink thing, and now he reaches into the bag to pull out his chicken wrap and fries. He accidentally drops his fries and they fall all over the floor. He says "I'm sorry, grandma, let me pick it up." and so without even being told, he reaches down and picks up all the fries and puts them back into the container. His grandma then hands him a $5 bill and tells him to go up front and ask for a new one.

So he goes up there and stands in line, not cutting ahead even once. Meanwhile, the two little black kids I mentioned before are running in circles around the BK, screaming at each other, bumping into people, and nobody does anything about it. Their mother is just standing there in line, tapping at her phone. She doesn't seem to care that her kids are running wild in a public place. Meanwhile, little white boy is watching them run around in circles, following them with his head, though he doesn't say anything, he just patiently waits in line.

When it comes to be his turn, he very politely asks the cashier for a new small fry because he dropped the other one, and tries to hand her the money. She tells him not to worry about it, and they'll replace it for free. So he gets his new small fry and politely thanks the cashier, and returns to his seat.

He sits down and starts eating, and tells his grandma that they gave it to him for free. But after a few moments, this kid says "Hey grandma, they had a donation box up there. Can I give that money to them?" and she smiles at him and tells him sure, that it'd be very nice if he did that. So he gets up, goes to the donation box and tells the cashier that he wants to donate that money. I think she was just as surprised as his grandma was (and as I was!) and so she compliments him on being such a nice, generous boy. He puts the money in the box, says thank you to the cashier, and finally goes back to eat.

All the while, the little black kids continue to run and scream around the BK, and their mother continues to do literally nothing but stare at her phone.

I know this sounds kind of like a "That happened" story, but I swear it actually did. Honestly, it's not even so much about the fact that every black person in that store was clearly a piece of shit, but more about the fact that this little child that couldn't be more than 7 years old had so much kindness, generosity, and politeness that seems to be so completely absent from EVERYONE these days, not even just kids. That kid is gonna go far in life. I only hope that he gets every opportunity he deserves as he grows up.
