So what do they think about Bill Gates or Steve Jobs?

Steve Jobs is dead, or absorbed by the apple cube. Either way, he's only talked about in past tense about things hipsters love to use.

He popularized the absolute aids that's turning consumers into fanatics tho

I would take that statement a bit further and say that Steve Jobs killed normal conversation and also laid the groundwork for an epidemic of narcissism.

Which in terms of business and capitalism makes him a genius among the top of the top.

Which is of course separate from his value morally and socially in terms of the sheer damage done by doing so.

Leftists believe all technological and industrial progress just kind of happens arbitrarily and the guy in charge of the company has nothing to do with it.

They seriously think all historical inventions were stolen from a black person.

This is a common theme among detractors on the left and right. I never understood the hate, unless it's just envy as you say. When it comes to politics or twitter I can understand thinking he's running a controlled op, or the reasonable arguments about how bad EVs are, but people will literally call him a scam artist who has never delivered on any promises.

The points about Tesla are correct, but since he's been in charge for most of the company's history it's hard to say their success had nothing to do with him. At SpaceX on the other hand he's always been directly involved in the engineering process. Tom Mueller (now working at Impulse Space trying to beat SpaceX to Mars) has never claimed otherwise. You can argue whether that was a good or bad thing for Elon to stick his nose in his employees work, but the results speak for themselves.

Elon Musk isn't why SpaceX is successful, the rockets are.

Lol. Mike Lindell isn't why MyPillow is successful. The pillows are.

The left loved Musk until he said Drumpf wasn't as bad as they make him out to be, that's literally all it took to make him an enemy for life. You can find lots of redditors hyping up his hyperloop sans 2013-2014

And it's funny how they all forgot the shameless SHILLING of Teslas to "save the environment". Every limousine liberal had one and made sure you KNEW they had one. AOC bought one with her grift money and was illegally parking it in her neighborhood. Biden was telling lower/middle class people to buy one and stop destroying the world.

thing is because he actually built a good electric car he still can sell them without subsidies and liberal endorsements.

Its sort of like saying Miyamoto didn't create Mario because he was in a team of five doing it. True, but not accurate.

I'll say the same about Elon as I'd say about Thomas Edison: if you think his job is so easy and he became a billionaire by adding nothing of value, why aren't you fucking doing it?

That's not contradictory to this statement though. The reason not to do it would be it's wrong. The thing OOP described -- taking credit -- is wrong. I guess you can still ask why people wouldn't do it.

Elon didn't make Tesla successful... but somehow it's the only company whose EV business hasn't collapsed catastrophically. If leftists had any idea what creates success, they wouldn't be leftists. Their entire worldview is based on envy.

Yeah, I heard something like this at the water cooler at work the other day. Normally I'd ignore it because talking to people who have such idiotic takes is really grating. But I was tired of hearing things like this, so I just said "Yeah, and what have you done? No one's even talking about you are they? You're talking about someone you hate, that has done things. There would be no Tesla cars without him, no Space X without him. Y'know, all those accomplishments that a team of engineers did, working for him. If he has bought and shuttered it, where would they be now?

Oh and did you remember to thank Henry Ford for being able to drive to work today, or just the plant workers? Or was that 'your' accomplishment, because all you did was buy the car."

One thing about science I hate is how we say one guy figured out everything. It was a group and he was in charge or figured out the parts they didn't know.

Oppenheimer got the credit for the atomic bomb, case in point. Some of the most brilliant minds on the planet working feverishly for over two years had nothing to do with it.
