For some reason I thought Tumblr had collapsed after they banned spicy content. That's why the pronoun hordes flocked to Twitter I thought? In any case, it's been mostly a blight on the internet, but I did enjoy things better when it acted as a fly trap for the degenerates.
That turned it from a major player (while being cancer) to a useless shell of nothing but empty cancer.
Back then it still had power and control on discourse, even if it was just where dumb ideas propagated before going onto bigger tables. Now its just a cave with people yelling at each other with no effect on the greater world beyond its legacy.
I believe tumblr was sold to yahoo for 1.2 billion and then literally a year later.. worth shit. tumblr changed hands a few times and evetually word press for 1.3 million. Literally lost +99% of its value lol.

I can't think of a company in history that has made worse acquisitions than Yahoo. You kind of figure that by buying a bunch of companies, one will work out and they'll be fine. But Yahoo proves you wrong.
