This whole conflict is tragic, I hate the loss of life, and I also hate the most terrible base instincts it's pulled out of people on all sides...but damn if it hasn't also led to some absolutely spicey retardation, too.
I hate the senseless loss of life, one thing that most warfare is consistent with is killing all the people put in the way of the ones who need to be killed yet rarely are.
I also hate the biased caring. Similar to the Russian/Ukraine thing, people act like Russians dying is a great thing, Ukrainians dying is a terrible thing...but then also don't seem to care if hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are dying.
Likewise, the attack on Israeli civilians was terrible, but the larger number of Palestinian civilians killed is apparently no big deal.
War is hell. In large part because people kinda suck.

It's absurd. I condemn Hamas, I condemn Islamic terrorism, I condemn hostage taking, I condemn murder, all that. I just also condemn using overwhelming military might on noncombatants. Oof, guess I'm the bad guy.
