The indictment alleged that Menendez and his wife, Nadine, received “hundreds of thousands of dollars” in bribes and used the senator’s influence to enrich several businessmen from New Jersey, as well as the Egyptian government.

Ah, there it is, I was wondering why they stopped looking the other way for this one.

I figured he must of pissed in the wrong guy's oats, but maybe it's more of a message to his beneficiaries. Can't let the vassal states start thinking they have the power to start sending bribes the other way.

Menendez has been a known pedophile and child abuser for decades.

I thought he was untouchable.

He forgot to give 10% to the big guy. Always pay your protection money!

Unironically, if he had, they would not have indicted him - not even because of Biden protecting him, but because any prosecution would ensnare Biden.

That's why they're protecting Hunter Biden. You think they give a damn that he's Biden's son? Of course not. They care that his prosecution would implicate Biden.

This is the same democrat who admitted in his last trial to banging underage hookers and promising them US visas…

You have receipts for that? I find it rather hard to believe that he admitted that.

I had it backwards, it was alleged, then the charges weren’t brought forward, but prosecutors said it wasn’t due to “a lack of evidence” as menendez’s legal team claimed

Charming of Jack Smith to leak it.

Like what they did with Matt Gaetz. Destroy someone's reputation through inflammatory leaks to compliant media, and then after two years (in the case of Gaetz), not change him because there's not enough evidence even for an indictment.

To be fair it was a much different situation.

Menendez they had the evidence, it just...vanished.

Gaetz they never actually had any evidence.

If they had the evidence, they should have presented it in court, not first leak to the media that they have it and then "OOPS, I guess the dog ate it!"

I don't care if they're doing it to one of my favorite Congressmen (Gaetz), or my least favorite, or Hunter Biden, abuse of the "justice" system is an abomination.

They had evidence, but what can they do when it is suddenly removed?

It isn't about liking or disliking anyone, he has been protected for years by the higher ups.

Why the protection ran out now I can't say, but he's well known in NJ for committing a wide variety of crimes.

They had evidence

Did they, or did they say they had it? Did you see the actual hard evidence yourself? I don't have that much confidence when someone says he has evidence and the dog suddenly eats it.

he has been protected for years by the higher ups.

He was indicted in 2015 by none other than Jack Smith's steely-eyed gaze. I have no idea why, but they've been going after him for a while.

Why the protection ran out now I can't say, but he's well known in NJ for committing a wide variety of crimes.

Also known as just being a NJ politician.

Depends, did he term it as 'sexual education for disadvantaged immigrants '?

"Senator Menendez is one of the most respected citizens in this state McBain, and yet you ran his limo off a cliff, broke the necks of three of his bodyguards, and drove a bus through his front door?"

Time for people on both sides to switch their position on "innocent until proven guilty" and "an indictment is not proof of guilt".

Given the mountain of undeniable evidence that appears to be necessary to indict a Democrat vs. the novel legal theories and "sources familiar with the matter" allowed to indict Trump allies ... I don't really blame people for their "hypocrisy".

Possible. Or maybe he offended the regime in some way. I have no particular affinity for Menendez, but I did notice that his first indictment was thrown out and that it was brought by none other than our great friend Jack Smith.

RFK is also a Democrat. I don't think it'll require a mountain of evidence to indict him.

EDIT: I'm not arguing that this is the case, or that it's even likely. Menendez is a neocon after all, though he did back Armenia against Azerbaijan. Only saying that I don't trust the regime even when it's "bearing gifts".

In RFK's case, they already tried to shoot him.

I'm not sure that was the regime. It'd look rather bad for them if yet another Kennedy was assassinated in suspicious circumstances.

Apparently a couple days ago he criticized the new Iran deal where we sent them more pallets of money.

And I only specified Democrat in this case because as far as I can tell there are 0 in power that aren't fully on-board with the establishment regime. I'm no fan of Republicans but at least a few manage to be elected that aren't completely bought (yet).

As with the Russell Brand thing, they probably didn't decide on releasing this on such a short time horizon (it takes a lot of preparation), at the very least they had something ready for blackmail.

Agreed, and they got smeared by the DOJ for their pains (Gaetz).

Antonio, I don't think you get it.

My enemy is indicted--guilty, throw away the key.

My friend is indicted, tried, found guilty--it's bullshit, the system is against him, he's innocent.

(I mean, either can be true, but as a general rule, this is how people pretty much operate...)

Call me when he is imprisoned or executed as a result of a conviction.

It's all just a circus unless politicians are actually being meaningfully punished.
