The irony of all of this is that instead of making most people so super duper scared to never do it again, it simply makes them want to just do it better next time.
Because they wouldn't do any of this if they weren't terrified. Even with it probably being half their idea and half their men glowing in the crowds, it clearly unnerved the elites on a level we will never understand.
Knowing that, and knowing that even if you are peaceful about it they will treat you like this, only tells those angry enough to act on those desires to not hold anything back next time.
It basically was the Beer Hall Putsch, except in that Hitler was only sentenced to 5 years and served 9 months. So the government that America has now is remarkably more corrupt than Weimar. I can only imagine when the pendulum swings back how much harder things could be.
The Putch was planned. The riot was spontaneous and the entry into the building was aided by DC Police.
There was no riot, there was a crowd of people who walked towards and entered an open building.
The "riot" only happened after police began deploying smoke bombs and flash grenades against people peacefully congregating and waving flags.
Arguably it's fair to call what occurred on the other side of the building preceding the doors opening a small "riot", with pushing and shoving past law enforcement - but it was a gayop almost entirely orchestrated by embedded feds egging them on. Normal people climbed into windows that were already broken. Their only goal was to take pictures and yell "THIS IS OUR HOUSE". Misdemeanor at worst.
But it wasn't an "out of control" riot requiring police intervention to stop either. Unlike a typical sports riot in Los Angeles, violence and looting wasn't the intent. Once people got into the rooms they wanted to get into they were peaceful and orderly. I'm fairly confident had Ashley Babbitt not been murdered and people had gotten into the voting chamber, they would have simply stood around the room and chanted something about electors.
The government wants further violence to justify mass crackdown, a political purge, and a few public executions, (maybe shooting some protestors to death while they are at it).
They know good and god damned well, that this kind of thing will only agitate people more, which is what they are hoping to do.
If they were that certain of their ability to control the entire chain of events, they wouldn't have spent the last year literally pissing themselves in terror of people literally being able to walk near them. They'd have actually done something in response beyond bullying a bunch of guys with unconstitutional jailings.
I'm sure a couple of top feds are sitting smug about how they will totally enact full dictator control if the plebs even breathe wrong, while also posting tough guy posturing all over the place on top of it. But the observable reality demonstrates the opposite. A complete lack of any control, let alone ability to act out any form of mass crackdown beyond their shitty urban sprawls.
That's my point. They know they don't have the political capital they need yet to machine gun unarmed protestors Apartheid style. They're willing and able, they just don't have the rationalization for it yet. They need violence in order to do that.
And still, it's only rarely going to be the actual police. They'd much rather let Antifa do the hard work of burning people's homes down. Then they can roll into the city as a force "just trying to maintain peace", and seizing their homes and selling it to their favorite developer.
And that was my point. They aren't able. They think they might kinda be, but they definitely want you to think they are. Because that's the only true shield they have left, the illusion of power that we saw shimmer by a bunch of retards walking into a building.
That's why they are clamping on it so hard, because it revealed they really aren't as able and all powerful as they want you to think. Further "violence" might justify a response from them, but they have little ability to carry beyond a very minimal (relatively) reaction to try and maintain the illusion of them being this all powerful entity that you stand no chance of fighting.
By default, power is illusory. I agree with you that maintaining that illusion is their most important (and one of the few remaining) lines of defense. However, they are able to do specific things. Let a lynchmob roam free, machine gun some protestors, arrest some politicians, and disbar some attorneys. They absolutely have all the power and ability to do all of those things.
Total Soviet Gulag, though, is beyond their control, and why civil disobedience is necessary in regards to tyrannical and illegal government actions.
Of course they can do these things.
The problem for them is, and they know it, is that America is fucking huge. Both in terms of space and population. They gun down a few hundred protestors in NYC and by the time they regroup and get their narrative out, tens of thousands have both seen it and are preparing a response. And are far enough away that it will take considerably logistics time to move their armed forces to disperse each one.
That's why they realistically aren't able to do them, because even the retards running the government know that they will lose that death spiral.
I don't think that's too serious of a problem anymore. You'll remember that the Capitol Police, suddenly appeared in at least 12 states, with police personelle, barricading state capitals (which were never threatened). Covid-19 really showed me just how many people were well prepared to give up all of their rights, inform on their family, and support concentration camps for dissidents.
If there were a large protest in DC and 150 Trump supporters were shot dead with machine gun fire from an M240G (like Nancy Pelosi requested), the discussion on the Left would be, "This is bad. The right-wing are going to use this to paint themselves as the victims of a conspiracy, and there could be rightist terror attacks in response! We'll need to hit them hard before they can hit us!" It will never be, "Was that shooting justified?"
I know that the MSM's narrative control has never been weaker than it is today, but I think the dissident and anti-establishment movement doesn't understand that it is a wounded lion. It's power is still absolutely massive. There are still tons of Republicans who believe that 2020 was the safest and freest election in history. There are still tons of Democrats who think there weren't riots in 2020. What's more, is that those people also happen to be the ones manning those machine guns and ordering them into position.
By the time the narrative goes out from CNN, most of the normie dissident right will be still saying, "I can't believe that this happened. We need to launch an investigation to sort this out!" while Ted Cruz gets arrested for terrorism without an impeachment hearing. Most of the centrists will be saying, "Clearly, the maggots need to calm the fuck down and try, just for once, to abide by the law." The power of the Mainstream Media is still 2 full orders of magnitude stronger than anyone on the dissident right believes, and nearly all of the government bureaucrats that actually run government are in full support of it (because it's their narrative anyway).
The truth is, as I've said before, the right needs to learn how to take casualties. If 150 people get gunned down in DC, you can't riot. You actually have to pull some trucker bullshit and physically close off the beltway, or physically enter state capital buildings and conduct a sit-in, in order to pressure the state governors to recall congress. You actually have to double-down on soft-pressure in order to steal the legitimacy that the government just lost.
Yes, they are concerned about a death spiral, but they are already panicking. The establishment is a wounded lion, and that makes it more dangerous, not less. It will lash out violently and unpredictably. It will behave inordinately aggressive because it is utterly insecure. That's not going to deter them, because they are actually scared of really losing power.
Reminds me of a story of a Chinese general, leading his army to meet up with the Emperor's forces. The general is delayed due to a storm and, when it's apparent they're going to be late, he turns to his second in command. "What's the penalty for not arriving on time?" he asks his second. "Death," the other man responds.
The general thinks this over for a second, and then asks "What's the penalty for rebellion?"
Yeah that's what I was trying to get at. That's why, despite people's emotional tantrums, we don't just throw "Death" as the sentence for rape or molestation or hurting a child. Because if its death for those, then its also death for just killing them and killing them leaves no witnesses so we are incentivizing worse crimes.
They've left execution as basically the only place left for actual insurrection, which means that they have left no actual reason not to do so next time. If sitting at Pelosi's desk to disrespect her gets you fucking solitary, why not shoot her and become an American hero? Punishment is nearly the same regardless, if not arguably a better end.
This actually comes close to reminding me of all those photos of that prison in Iraq that caused outrage on how the prisoners there were treated.
That makes sense, the same people that supported that disastrous war also think it's ok to treat their own citizens that way.
The fact that it's been two years and there are people still awaiting their trial is unconscionable.
Contact the ACLU, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International. The addresses are at the end of the article.
HA HA HA
The ACLU is actually one of the only organizations that sheepishly mentioned it once. They said they were concerned that the conditions of the jail could aid in appeals and mistrials if the conditions were as bad as some of the prisoners were suggesting.
The rest of them know what's happening and like it. Amnesty International is a fan of what's happening. Same with Human Rights Watch.
You send them a letter, don't be surprised if they reply to you with: "Lol, kill yourself."
No doubt. it's a gesture, delusional though it may be.
Aren't all of them leftists
Hey, at least he got charged. There were people who were held without charge for over 3 months.
Well if he was charged I'm sure they will make it stick so as to justify the jail time in the first place.
Still, the effective Qualified Immunity or liability protection of government officials needs to be eliminated. When the government violates someone's rights in such a blatantly unconstitutional manner, it needs to be deemed not a "government action" at all - and all of the individuals involved in the enforcement need to be treated as criminals who kidnapped and imprisoned an innocent person for the lulz. Just as if you or I had done the same to some random person.
But without qualified immunity, police would be as restricted as citizens!
It would be as if citizens themselves would have to police their own communities!
What if I break a nail?!!
'January 6' (tourist excursion gone wrong) wouldn't even have happened if they had taken precautions. Capital police asked for reinforcements for crowd control and didn't get it. Doors were opened from the inside. The crowd had more than a hundred (or something) civilian clothes operatives from various agencies.
And Pelosi was filming herself while 'January 6' was happening, stretching her high school drama class bonafides to the limit (because that was one shitty performance).
But of course. What's the point in having agents provocateurs if you never let them provoke anything?
If this doesn't show we have a uniparty with very few exceptions, I don;t know what will
I can only name Rand Paul
I'm sure Amnesty International will be swooping in to save the day.
Any day now...
Still waiting.
I don't imagine the feds plan for the ones with longer sentences to make it out alive.
Consider that the juries are even more slanted than the judges. If it were up to the DC juries, there wouldn't be abuse pictures, because they would have executed all 736 people that have been charged.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the Scottsboro Boys got fair trials and sentences than the Jan 6 defendants... and they were sentenced to death 3 times off of no physical evidence and two witness statements, one of which was recanted.
I call bullshit on the picture. That isn't a cell, it's a supply closet. It has an electrical outlet. The basin is for a mop.
He had someone on the inside help him get into the room with a mat for staged photos.
Any actual cell would at a minimum have a toilet in it. This isn't Thailand or Mexico - the prisons are built with explicit requirements. Solitary confinement cells exist but they don't look like this at all.
Samsel has a history of violent crime.
He's being held without bail and being tortured with sleep deprivation. I don't give a shit if he's a convicted serial rapist. This is unacceptable and the imprisonment without trial of a chosen few DC protestors is a crime that's gone largely unreported (no surprise).
And what makes you think that political prisoners are at all times held in an actual prison? It might be a utility closet somewhere, but it does not change the fact that he's being held unjustly and probably illegally.
It probably is a supply closet, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was kept trapped within it.
"The US Torture Program didn't real bro." "CIA Black Sites are a right-wing conspiracy theory!" "Abu Ghrab is just Leftist anti-war propaganda!"
One of the more controversial deaths in the US torture program was a man who died from heat exhaustion because he was chained to the inside of a connex box (shipping container) in a desert at well over 130 F. For several days, they anally inserted hummus into his ass and made him shit it out on himself repeatedly as they demanded information for him. By the end of the week, they locked the container and forgot about him. In the CIA's own report, they admitted that they had forgotten about him over the weekend, and he had died without food and water for the entire weekend under extreme heat conditions and no fresh air, still covered in his shit hummus.
That's what the feds like to do to people they don't like.
You know who Darren Rainey is?
He was a schizophrenic prisoner who was serving time for a cocaine possession charge. He was boiled to death by the prison guards.
Being a cocaine addicted schizophrenic, he shit himself and smeared feces all over the walls of his cell. The prison guards him placed in a shower with water spraying on him at the highest possible pressure and temperature for over two hours. The water temperature seems to have been somewhere around 160 F, or 71 C. He suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns all over his body.
This wasn't a CIA blacksite, this was just Miami-Dade county.
But they, thanks for letting us know you don't know a fucking thing about the worst parts of the American prison system.
That's a dilemma our Northern American brethren have to face...
Like everywhere else in the West, they too are under assault by the usual suspects using the usual motives, a.k.a : "America bad" so I kind of understand them going on the other end of the spectrum with "America #1!" and drinking the kool aid.
That make dealing with people here, or /pol/ack material rather difficult, since they will use the same leftoids rhetoric used against any of us depending on where you're from in the West or simply smugly larp about any form of "USA #1" that is as obnoxious as listening to vegans of bible thumpers.
I wish the people from the USA here would understand: When the rest of the West is angry at the USA, it's not the people, no one is "jealous of your freedom" or whatever nonsense Fox or CNN might tell you, it's the government, if you think they're harsh on you, you do have not the slightest idea of what the glowies are doing, especially to their supposed allies.
What Girotnik said is just the tip of the iceberg, I was in Iraq myself, I saw the 2AM raids, the humiliations of a very very conservative and religious people in their homestead, the torture chambers? re-opened; the previous warden? re-hired, the pictures of what they did in there? leaked.
Do not be part of the great Satan, do not become part of the Golem.
I'd hate to say it, but this is a very anglo problem with an anglo mindset. The English are... sigh.... were a people that happened to be supremacist, parochial, but then also the leaders of a world spanning Empire. As such, the British Empire was prepared to commit atrocities while rationalizing it for the good of England. I still see this attitude even among the LotusEaters staff who don't realize just how much brutality the British were prepared to engage in.
I'll still give them credit though: if you had to live under the rule of an empire, you'd choose the British one in a heart-beat. They just don't quite understand that standing against the British Empire meant you, your families, your neighbors, and your children were going to die, or be otherwise enslaved. Anglicization did have positive effects, but it doesn't make the ethnic cleansings and cultural pogroms any less awful.
Americans, unfortunately, inherited this because we wanted to be the "anglos in the woods" that certain English philosophers talk about. We also wanted to be a republic, but we took all of the English supremacism, and made it nearly unrestricted on ourselves. Due to the sheer power of the US, our elites have taken this golden opportunity to create an American empire that can strangle the world. Unlike the British, we don't even really help people develop. We are a Liberal empire, and we try to subvert and destroy things we don't like, hoping that the "universal values of liberalism" just ... happen. There is no intentional process of Americanization, like Anglicanization. American culture is just kind of subversive and overwhelming.
The American people have no real knowledge of any of this, because why would they? They don't want an empire, they don't hate their country, and they do want to believe that someone can come to America and ask us to kick a bad guy's ass for them. But it's never so simple, and by ignoring it, our Empire of Columbia has run rampant.
It's strange, but it's true that the first real threat to the Empire of Columbia in well over 100 years is the MAGA movement, which genuinely wants to reduce it's footprint, and is recognizing that the Empire of Columbia, is occupying the United States; in the same way that the British Empire is currently occupying England.
Precisely.
Hell I know my people and my government haven't been perfect, that I'm aware of it but let me tell you as a French I have stories about the many, many, many documented dickerings Anglo-Saxons successive governments have been doing to anyone that isn't them and a lot of those aren't just Historical thingies, some of them happened less than 6 months ago.
I personally admire the will of the USA people, from frontiersman to forest people, from trailblazers to entrenched resilient patriots (I did spend two weeks in Arizona in August a few years ago) what I fail to understand is that those traits are viewed as bad and wrong when it's impersonated by someone else but them, like it's somehow undermining their success or attempting to be like them or something, the famous "jealousy" or something.
For example I know some are shocked that France is actively cooperating with China, the only real shocking part is how long "we" put up with our (((allies))), a polite reminder that when the Brits and the Germans decided to economically bleed the French they allied with Turkey and managed until things died down.
I don't have any illusions about that, I know that behind all the [current year] things, if "we" ever win against the socjus, I know who's on my side and who need to be repeatedly told to go fuck themselves, as I've already been doing a lot on this board and will continue to do.
In fairness, the Germans have been screwing over the French for a lot longer than that. And, technically, the English while not being your enemy (right now) have been your rivals ... forever.
Even then, it seems to be that everyone's ruling class is both entirely devoted to Neo-Liberal Fabian Socialism, while also trying to play Realpolitik. The UK and French governments have no actual objections to Globalism, but the UK is being flooded with migrants that France is refusing to stop, and I'm sure the UK probably fucked France over regarding Lybia or something.
The people of these countries are all getting fucked by governments who are playing HOI4 with each other, while still managing to be on the same side.
