By default, power is illusory. I agree with you that maintaining that illusion is their most important (and one of the few remaining) lines of defense. However, they are able to do specific things. Let a lynchmob roam free, machine gun some protestors, arrest some politicians, and disbar some attorneys. They absolutely have all the power and ability to do all of those things.

Total Soviet Gulag, though, is beyond their control, and why civil disobedience is necessary in regards to tyrannical and illegal government actions.

Of course they can do these things.

The problem for them is, and they know it, is that America is fucking huge. Both in terms of space and population. They gun down a few hundred protestors in NYC and by the time they regroup and get their narrative out, tens of thousands have both seen it and are preparing a response. And are far enough away that it will take considerably logistics time to move their armed forces to disperse each one.

That's why they realistically aren't able to do them, because even the retards running the government know that they will lose that death spiral.

I don't think that's too serious of a problem anymore. You'll remember that the Capitol Police, suddenly appeared in at least 12 states, with police personelle, barricading state capitals (which were never threatened). Covid-19 really showed me just how many people were well prepared to give up all of their rights, inform on their family, and support concentration camps for dissidents.

If there were a large protest in DC and 150 Trump supporters were shot dead with machine gun fire from an M240G (like Nancy Pelosi requested), the discussion on the Left would be, "This is bad. The right-wing are going to use this to paint themselves as the victims of a conspiracy, and there could be rightist terror attacks in response! We'll need to hit them hard before they can hit us!" It will never be, "Was that shooting justified?"

I know that the MSM's narrative control has never been weaker than it is today, but I think the dissident and anti-establishment movement doesn't understand that it is a wounded lion. It's power is still absolutely massive. There are still tons of Republicans who believe that 2020 was the safest and freest election in history. There are still tons of Democrats who think there weren't riots in 2020. What's more, is that those people also happen to be the ones manning those machine guns and ordering them into position.

By the time the narrative goes out from CNN, most of the normie dissident right will be still saying, "I can't believe that this happened. We need to launch an investigation to sort this out!" while Ted Cruz gets arrested for terrorism without an impeachment hearing. Most of the centrists will be saying, "Clearly, the maggots need to calm the fuck down and try, just for once, to abide by the law." The power of the Mainstream Media is still 2 full orders of magnitude stronger than anyone on the dissident right believes, and nearly all of the government bureaucrats that actually run government are in full support of it (because it's their narrative anyway).

The truth is, as I've said before, the right needs to learn how to take casualties. If 150 people get gunned down in DC, you can't riot. You actually have to pull some trucker bullshit and physically close off the beltway, or physically enter state capital buildings and conduct a sit-in, in order to pressure the state governors to recall congress. You actually have to double-down on soft-pressure in order to steal the legitimacy that the government just lost.

Yes, they are concerned about a death spiral, but they are already panicking. The establishment is a wounded lion, and that makes it more dangerous, not less. It will lash out violently and unpredictably. It will behave inordinately aggressive because it is utterly insecure. That's not going to deter them, because they are actually scared of really losing power.

No conservative politician currently in office would be arrested for Terrorism. They would be the first in line to condemn the protestors killed by the government and would proceed to agree with everything Democrats demanded.

No, because acquiescence doesn't work. You can scream "Abu Ali we are with you!" all you want, and the secret police still drag you off to be shot. Like I said, Ted Cruz, who would likely condemn the protestors if he felt his career was significantly in danger, would still get hauled off because there are some people who have a problem with him.
