"Confusingly attractive people"
yeah
no.
Hollywood's already obsessed with making women look like plastic characters of humans as it is.
Remember when these exact same people were decrying Barbie for "pushing unattainable beauty standards"?
And now, though nothing has changed, Barbie is suddenly "empowering".
It's "empowering" because the creators are vile freaks who co-opted the brand and are attempting to cultivate a message that men and women are so fundamentally different that they must be at war, as per the friend enemy distinction, and that the only good place for men is as affirmation slaves, with this being kept in checked by deception, fraud, and violence as necessary anti-moral actions against an enemy (thereby making them moral actions).
I always compared Hollywood women to "aliens in drag"
I've never seen that as more true than that weird fantasy movie with Oprah in it. Everything looked uncanny valley human.
Said post is by a friend who I suspect will lose his wife because he's not left leaning enough. He also believes his faith is only true if it follows his political beliefs.
Then his political beliefs are his true faith.
He gets angry when people point it out to him. Even sadder, I'm fairly certain his wife will leave him for not being lefty enough.
Not that I would wish divorce upon anyone, I just want to say that there is a better life after if you do not wallow in what was lost and are willing to work for it. His faith could even be the basis for the revival.
They have to hit that wall first.
Tell your "friend" to get the fuck out.
He will either lost half his shit now or he'll lose half his shit later and get rape accusations thrown at him.
Who is this "friend" and why the fuck is he your "friend"?
Ehh kinda, I always thought it was bang in the middle of kids and just before puberty hits in terms of appeal
Yeah, they come with lots of tiny parts you wouldn't want to give to a small child.
Kids stop putting everything in their mouth at the age of 2 or 3. There's a lot of time to play with toys, including ones with small parts, after that.
Yes, but that doesn't mean it won't be used as a vehicle for Marxist revenge fantasies.
Barbie review: would rate higher if it was a silent film
Sadly Barbie is one of the rare goyslop successes these days. I guess it was a combination of Ryan Gosling/Margot Robbie, not being Marvel, and a successful marketing campaign.
Also I'm not sure how seriously people are taking the message of the movie. From what I'm hearing, the Barbies rule their toyland and Kens are irrelevant, the meaning of which is obvious, but because we're talking about Barbie, Kens have always been a sideshow so it kind of fits.
Apparently the movie begins with a 2001 parody which is absolutely insane and as a result it seems like people think the whole thing is a big joke.
I bet the second week drop will be big. When people realize the film was a trick, it won't survive very long.
Ok, let's be honest.
Did anyone in this fucking sub watch this?
I can't get what the fuck the "message" of this movie is because it seems like such a clusterfuck nobody agrees with. I have no plans on watching this but I can't get talk about this fucking movie out of my feed and I'd wish all these fuckers who talk about political subjects would ease off on this.
Everybody with a kid - go watch the Super Mario Bros movie and forget this goyslip cringe.
Go play the Mario games, don’t watch the girl boss movie.
This is what we here used to call "a try-hard"
Plastic stop motion. Not attractive.
Just human and generational death, sterility, with intention. Essentially leftism itself, as a movie.
"A movie that's secretly about how the patriarchy would benefit the overall happiness of women, and their current obsession over rulership ruins their lives."
There's your review to put up on the poster.
"They Won't Be Happy Until We Are All Gay"...I like that.
I like to imagine the Barbie reviews are really for Oppenheimer
Well that's fun to think about.
Haven't seen it but read here and there and basically got the plot. It's subversive on all fronts
Not even considering the anti patriarchy messaging, something that affects everyone is the idea of the system status quo.
Barbie world or whatever -- ie. the current world order -- is a great place for the priveleged class at the top. Then there's an isekai trip and instead of the inspiration to change for the better, change is depicted as evil and the system must be maintained. The system itself originally is arguably evil and change would be welcome.
So another take on this movie is, patriarchy aside, it's going to program young girls and young boys into loving the current model of order, and programming them into supporting it/fighting for it/lashing out at revolutionaries, anyone who criticises it
That's a good insight.
Who is this faggot?
