Critical thinking is something the reddit admins are trying to remove from their platform.

Have you seen /r/conspiracy recently? Holy shit it has been taken over.

Haven't used that sub since the late 2000s, and even then it was being manipulated by shills. Can't imagine how puppeteered it is now.

Literally every post that is critical of leftists is replied to with dozens of comments either doing the "muh both sides are bad" schtick or the "why can't this sub focus on actual conspiracy theories like the illuminati" schtick.

Funnily enough they are hardcore fans of critical theory.

A simulation would imply theres some kind of logic behind clownworld

Or maybe clownworld is a result of some sort of error in the simulation.

I dunno, it could be one of the "learning step" worlds, not the end product ones, where it tries random things to see how it progresses.

The original treatment for The Matrix had humans being used not as batteries but as CPUs.

Perhaps the universe is a simulation run on our minds, and the operators (or some kind of overmind) are learning from our experiences.

The simulation could have a virus.

Chaos is just order unrecognized by a lesser mind.

If we all sat and traced things back (and probably did a lot of noticing), we'd probably be able to logic out clownworld. It would be infuriating, but the line could be made.

Simulation theory is nothing more than a bunch of atheists inventing God, but with extra steps.

By any practical measure, there's no difference between a god or gods and the creator(s) of a simulation. In either case, that creator is the omnipotent, omniscient builder of our reality and existence. So I would argue that one cannot be an atheist and believe in simulation theory, and that evidence for simulation theory in fact points to the existence of a higher power creator.

If anyone is interested in the answer to the original AskReddit question, the answer is:

How physics is governed by information. The parallels between entropy in information theory and entropy in physics, and how often information pops up in fundamental physics, e.g. quantum numbers, probability density functions, fundamental uncertainties. Information (and basically causality itself) being limited by the speed of light.
