Law schools have been havens of leftist retardation for more than half a century. The cultural Marxists professors of the 1960s recognized the power of lawfare and infested the law schools (followed, inevitably, by the bench). That’s why we have so many activist lefty judges legislating from their wooden thrones.
I have always said something is wrong with most lawyers. And ppl would be like: nah you just don't need one right now blah blah blah. And I'm like: nah they really piss me off on average. I don't dislike every single one, but the way the profession is run is detestable, and terrible people are lionized as judges. Some are elefted, but the BAR gets a lot of input.
Lawyers in my experience tend to suffer from some serious dunning-kruger effect. They think that because they've 'mastered' one area(law) that they're automatically right on everything else.
It does tend to lead to some hilarious circumstance, though.
The bar is the railing that separates the audience area (called the gallery) from the area with the attorney's tables (called the well). So the people who are allowed past the bar became known as "the bar", just like how judges (who sit at the desk at the front of the courtroom called the bench) became known collectively as "the bench". "Passing the bar" has both a literal and figurative meaning. Literal being that the person passed a test called the bar exam, but also figuratively being that they are now permitted to pass the bar in the courtroom.
“[The assenting judges] went so far as to say that the race-based admission system uses race as a negative and operates it as a stereotype,” the letter stated. “They may couch their opinion in legal jargon, but we all know what this opinion aims to do: advocate for a ‘colorblind’ admission process.”
LEGAL JARGON! Holy shit.
“However, as many of our students know and Justice Sotomayor says in her dissent, ‘ignoring race will not equalize a society that is racially unequal,'” the letter proclaimed.
Law schools are now telling students to ignore the law because of an 'unequal society' which most of them abused to get into law school...
“As a reminder, BU also offers a number of wellness resources that are willing and able to help students navigate these times.”
I guess they are scared some of the law students will get red pilled and need to ensure they stay 'on track'.
But not even, in this case: the majority “couched” its reasoning in a clear statement of the law. “Jargon” to me suggests obfuscation or highly technical language. I can say that the dissent of KBJ did one of those two things though. But not through legal jargon, just through whiny leftist horseshit.
In these sorts of places they'll be your typical boomercon type of conservative at best. If they're more inclined to dissidence my guess is they'd be the last to let you know. That's how it is in my case. As far as people know I'm an NPR listening PBS watching scrub. What would be called a Blue Dog Democrat in earlier times.
These places are odd in that even though they're in solidly conservative areas, someone that'd be in a place like kia2 would be solidly behind enemy lines, not too dissimilar from how it probably is along the coasts.
LOLOLOL but unfortunately they probably aren’t the only school saying that. I actually just graduated from (a different) law school, so I don’t get the “to all students” emails anymore but I bet our school sent out an email just like this. I’m certain I remember a “go to therapy y’all!” e-mail after last year’s overturn of Roe/Casey.
We had a man in lipstick give the major speech at our graduation, if that indicates anything. Academia is basically fucked, full stop, as I’m sure many of you have experienced yourselves, though you can still learn the necessary stuff if you self-educate and don’t listen to either your fellow students or the professors other than those profs/students who really show you they’re there to teach/learn rather than to indoctrinate or support the indoctrination.
Edit: And trust me, I do not lightly say “don’t talk to people at a university.” I’m actually really sad that I have to say that. It’s gone beyond mere “debate different ideas” and I think anyone who has been in college in the last ten years can back me up on that.
When did the American left become so whiny? It's the equivalent of a 5-year-old stomping her feet when she can't have a popsicle. The petulant facial expression under the "Not OK" part of the sign says it all, as does the juvenile diction itself.
What happened? It's like, along with everything else that has gone sideways since the fraudulent election of Dementia Joe, leftist bitching and public breast-beating after even the smallest political losses has become more prominent.
My guess is that many of these whiners have been conditioned by the infantile atmosphere of the college campus. When they discover that their grievances will not be placated by some Dean's Office, they fall apart.

It's strangely common among "masters" of different kinds of things.
Bar is not an acronym, you look really dumb when you capitalize it.
AFAIK, the concept of the bar started with the British Accreditation Registry
To add on, laser is also an acronym but no one writes it in caps. Sometimes it's best to follow conventions.
I didn't even mean to imply it was an acronym. Everyone knows it's called the bar; no one knows why. I just randomly use capslock on my phone.

Like when people write ELO. It's Elo. Virtually nobody knows this.
That's right. Law schools do, after all, comply with higher ed's neo-Marxist orthodoxy.

Low IQ retards have never once tried to learn anything in school, and have 4 children with 4 different women before the age of 18.
Low IQ retards have shitty grades and test scores.
Low IQ retards don't qualify for college on merit.
"It's because America is racist!"
Yeah they tend to do that.

I think they just said what they said without reading the actual thing. It was like a lnee jerk reaction that things should be that way.
Yes it will, if you ignore race and the outcomes don't equalise then maybe the races involved aren't eq-gunshot
But blacks can't do anything right therefore we need forever grievance studies and benefits until the whites are down on their level.
Meanwhile jews run everything and only promote other jews.
Agreed.
Defence: "I object!"
Pussy Prosecutor: "Waaah, you're objectifying me!"
Not even close to the first time. Law schools are mostly pozzed beyond belief:
E.g., Arkansas in 2016 offered law students counseling after Trump won:

I know two people who were at least vaguely right wing when they went to U of A law school and came out your typical NPR listening lefty.

Put in short sells on the stock of any company that hires Boston University graduates.
They're doomed.
