If he got a full beard similar to Kratos's (assuming he can, and I think he can grow facial hair), he might be able to pull off the look with some makeup. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some exceptional ree-ing (from people who don't even care about the franchise nor would even watch the film) if he is given pale white skin though.
Reminder The Rock will cast anyone and anything in order to benefit himself hence why Cavill was brought back one last time to cameo in Black Adam, because Cavill's agent is The Rock's ex wife, who The Rock still regularly works with and runs businesses with.
These announcements are a dime a dozen. They make these announcements constantly and 90% of them never go anywhere.
I'm still waiting on The Suffering and The Darkness, two games that also had a main character cast and an adaptation in development. Only 15 years now.
Amazon studios is feminist controlled. Occasionally they'll drop a niche 'male target audience' show (complete with the usual lowkey feminist-diversity racket elements: white guy always has a POC or female minder more competent or of higher authority than him) but the main staple is feminist dominated garbage.
This show will be 'toxic male' and might eclipse 'The Rings Of Power' (the Conan show was already dropped for similar reasons) and as such, if it will be made, it'll have a toxic feminist foundation of 'men are bad and can never outshine the holier-than-thou fictional female.'
The only reason why I don’t think he’ll fit is because he’s overcasted and it seems like he’s a product for marketing purposes rather than a legitimate actor.
He doesn't have the body though. Kratos was always muscled, but he wasn't a walking brick like the Rock is.
Kratos was able to kick backwards mid roll to maneuver. Man had a frame and mass that was realistic for being incredibly agile, and that was far more of his build than raw gorilla strength like Johnson.
You are correct, but I expect something relatively close in terms of ability if not direct appearance when an adaptation is made. The GoW games are half platformer, and combat is half rolling around like a dark souls lunatic. You need someone who can at least give the appearance they could do either of those things.
Like, rock climbing is a real thing people do so its not unreasonable to expect someone who can at least look like they could do so when portraying a guy who spends literal weeks climbing up a Titan's back.
Yeah his build then was far more versatile than it is now. Most wrestlers aren't built like powerlifting shithouses for a reason.
At this point he probably can't even reach the middle of his back by a lot of inches. Which is important when its the place Kratos sheathes all his weapons.

Which was why Lesner doing the Shooting Star Press again Kurt Angle was almost literally suicidal. The big guys don't do those kinds of moves for a reason.
Who needs another cringe Amazon show anyway?
There's already a God of War movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sy3Iu6fQnpE
Hollywood will always side with the MAPiest actor possible.
probably because he's one of the few humans in the world who has the body to match. the face and mannerisms are another story though

Indeed.
Jason Momoa would be the best Kratos. However, no matter who they cast, it will be a shitty adaptation with poor writing and forced bullshit.
Cool, he can cry some more about how much he loves sucking Joe Biden's dick
>nu-Kratos
No thanks
Never forget that, as a "joke," he said that "I eat children."
I bet some real bad stuff will come out about him in the next few years.

I'd rather see Batista get the role, The Rock basically only has the one character he can play.
Dave Bautista is a cabal piece of shit himself, but at least he's proven he can ACT somewhat.

TFW despite being a huge 40K fan the only show I'm looking forward too is Fate/Strange Fake because Amazon will inevitably fuck up 40K
Welp, there goes that idea.

Absolutely, and the more you look into him, his connections, and businesses, the more apparent this becomes.
Care to give a few examples so I know what to look for?
Blurg. Just doesn't have the gravitas to pull it off. Pass.
Isn't Kratos Greek (Spartan)? Sick of all this race swapping shit.
He’s one of the few actors that already has that body, but Hollywood I’m just gonna ignore

The real issue is, nobody is built like Kratos, and nobody can do what Kratos can do. Because he is a magical video game character.
The smart thing would be to not try to bring an unrealistic character into the real world.

The Rock was fairly agile when it came to selling Stone Cold Stunners but that was several years and pounds of muscle ago.
