It's funny that they demonise that style of rifle so much

When the latest shooting was done by a gun with a pistol caliber and most shootings are handguns because easier to conceal and pop out if you're a gang member.

They demonize it because it is the most effective style rifle for guerilla warfare. It’s highly adaptable for range/ territory/ size, has universal cheap components with many even being 3d printed anymore. The AR-15 is the Ak-47 of western society and a couple hundred civilians with them could take over strategic positions like military armories.

So you're telling me, that when Biden said you need jets and nukes to oppose the US military, he was lying and a couple of well trained, intelligent guerilla fighters on home turf could cripple military positions and supplies. You must be lying.

Next you'll tell me he got kickbacks from his son on drugs and that he's a pedo around kids (if you can't tell how sarcastic I'm being, I have a bridge to sell you)

Don't even need to be that well trained.

Middle school students should have shooting competitions and be taught to clean and assemble AR-15s.

And taught conservation and how hunting/ fishing actually helps the wildlife population stability. Funny how the “no gun zone” bans that were meant to deter accidental discharges actually ended up making them a primary target for mass shooters…

New shooter deterrent idea: Put "No Gun" signs at a location...and a sniper on a nearby roof.

"...has anyone had a chance to ask the Upper Sandusky school board about the intelligence of this raffle?” one local resident commented...

...Some local residents were angry at the “idiotic” decision...

“Nothing says ‘I support track’ like a shiny new murder gun,” Nick Barnes, an Upper Sandusky resident who runs a food truck, wrote on Facebook...

While some commenters on Barnes’ post tried to defend AR-15s for personal use, many local residents were outraged at the raffle.

“Our society is so diseased,” one Upper Sandusky resident wrote...

I'm sure this is very unbiased reporting from Vice, and no one had neutral or positive things to say about the raffle. Everyone is against this but, guns, America, capitalism, white supremacy, etc., all don't give a damn, and are forcing this on them.

But apart from the anger online, there was really “no pushback at all from the general public,” Barnes told VICE News. “For most people around here, the optics and the real-life consequences are simply beyond their scope of reckoning...

Or maybe most people disagree with you, and realize guns are just tools; inanimate objects. Maybe they're not stupid, maybe the threat posed isn't just 'beyond their scope of reckoning'...maybe they just don't agree with you. Maybe they don't share your retarded opinions.

The latest raffle was announced earlier this month in a Facebook post by Tim Pohlman, a coach for the Upper Sandusky Rams Track and Field team.

“The Track moms have put together a gun raffle to raise money for the team this year. The profits will go towards getting needed equipment for the program,” Pohlman wrote. “Let myself or a member on our team know if you want to get in on the fun and support our Upper Sandusky Track team.”

So it's actually organized by the parents who have children in the school, and on the team. Heh.

In Ohio this week, gun control advocates criticized Gov. Bob DeWine for his plan to spend $388 million to place a police officer in every public and private school in an effort to prevent school shootings. Last year, DeWine signed a law allowing teachers to carry weapons in classrooms with only 20 hours of training.

20 hours is plenty of training to cover the basics, like not accidentally shooting someone (well, unless you're Alec Baldwin.) Statistically, these teachers will never need to use their guns, so as long as they can carry them without increasing chance of harm, they'll at least have a fighting chance if they do need to use it to protect kids. They should still absolutely go train up in their free time, but twenty hours is plenty to start.

The gun raffle, in aid of the Upper Sandusky Rams Track and Field, has been so popular that this week the organizers added a fifth gun to the prize list and on Wednesday announced all 500 $10 tickets have been sold.

You mean they’re raffling things people want?

The guns on offer include a Savage 93R17 bolt-action rifle with scope, a Mossberg Patriot 350 Legend, two Tisas 1911 handguns, and an AR-15 rifle.

Muh scary AR-15

The raffle comes in the same week as a former student used an AR-15 style weapon along with two other guns during a mass shooting that left three children and three adults dead at Covenant School in Nashville on Monday.

Notice how they have to say “ar-15” style weapon… it’s like saying an automatic fire style weapon, it means it actually isn’t but we want to ban gun so it’s “close”

The AR-15, dubbed “America’s Rifle” by the National Rifle Association in 2016, has been used in many of the highest-profile mass shootings over the last decade or so, including the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that claimed 27 lives; the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando that left 49 dead; the Route 91 Harvest music festival shooting in Las Vegas in 2017 that killed 58 people, and the Parkland school shooting in 2018 that claimed 17 lives.

And banning ARs would have “saved” 339 lives over 15 years by your own retarded liberals estimate. Are we going to ban beds higher than 1 feet to stop the thousands that have died falling out of bed in that same timeframe?

Some local residents were angry at the “idiotic” decision to raffle off firearms to support students at a time when mass shootings are at an all-time high. “Nothing says ‘I support track’ like a shiny new murder gun,” Nick Barnes, an Upper Sandusky resident who runs a food truck, wrote on Facebook, telling VICE News that he found the raffle “nauseating.”

Insert opinion of someone who has zero knowledge of guns and probably gets his opinions from places like Vice.

But apart from the anger online, there was really “no pushback at all from the general public,” Barnes told VICE News. “For most people around here, the optics and the real-life consequences are simply beyond their scope of reckoning. There are a small minority who are appalled, but as you saw with the Nazis, we end up being seen as the troublemakers.”

Yes, they managed to compare raffling an AR15 with Nazis…

I like how the give the specifics on everything but the AR, too.

Quite possibly because it's chambered in a hunting round.

Perhaps because they are in demand and are doing a good job raising money for their track and field program.

Meanwhile Imp's favorite company is advertising "trans representation" on gamepass right after this shooting. With that "game" where the troon's twin murders their mother. Think it's called "Tell me I'm a normal boy". And the whore singer is doing a concert where it happened....

Why not make that training mandatory for teachers? Even if they don't want to carry?

I was looking at this again and decided to look up these "powerful firearms" as they are called.

Savage 93R17 bolt-action rifle with scope

For shooting small animals

Mossberg Patriot 350 Legend

Deer hunting rifle, also bolt action

Tisas 1911 handguns

Some regular run of the mill pistols

an AR-15 rifle

Since they don't seem to specify anything otherwise I'm just going to guess this is a 22LR version.

So at best they are raffling off one "powerful firearm", a heavy bolt action deer rifle. I've got a gun about the size/weight of that Mossberg and while it is a fun target shooter rimfire, let me assure you carrying that damn thing around trying to mass shoot would be shit. Like a guy with a knife would probably win.

They act like 20 hours is not enough. It's plenty to learn to use a handgun in a basic self defense situation.

Still, I wouldn't be that bothered if they sent all teachers to a one week course like you did. It would be an exceptional use of time and money. Some state should make it mandatory for a teaching license.

That would work the best. Gun free zone is the most ridiculous concept. You are specifically announcing to the criminals that no one will legally possess a firearm here. CCW permit training is way more than enough to safely carry a gun to school. I wonder if back in the day any of my teachers carried at school. I wouldn't be surprised really.

They even go after knives now. I saw something last year from somewhere semi-local to me banning employees from having pocket knives. They just want to take things away to look like they are trying. I worked at schools for 5 years and I carried a large pocket knife every day. I also carried it to class when I was in college. I've had this same knife 15 years now and it hasn't once jumped out of my pocket and started stabbing people. Well, maybe it stabbed me in the finger once or twice.
