Ya'll got any of that... global warming?

I love how they have to tie any weather event to climate change
I may be in the minority here in not believing man-made global warming to be a 'hoax' or whatever, but I have noticed that whenever anti-GW people say "global warming doesn't exist because it snowed yesterday", the pro-GW people will say "hah, look at this dumb hick who does not know the difference between weather and climate.
And yet when it's warm, or there is a hurricane, they say that it is proof of GW. Even though the best evidence suggests that natural disasters are not increasing.
I wouldn’t say it’s a hoax but it seems to be in the interest of the world governments to push massive hysteria on this topic. Also it’s a trendy “cause” for naive young people. I do t think fossil fuels are the devil but it’s not bad to look for better forms of energy which is why I don’t get why nuclear isn’t pushed more
How else are you going to persuade the population to accept an ever diminishing standard of living? While paying off crony capitalists in the heatpump/solar/electric car industrial complex who no doubt bribed you.
You know why the environmental groups oppose nuclear power? Because they are propped up by the natural gas lobby. Gazprom bribed the Bund, the main German environmental group, and then they came out in favor of Nord Stream (the pipeline recently blown up by Joe Biden).
Nuclear is abundant. They don't want that. They seem to want scarcity, they want to decrease your standard of living. I don't know why, but consider that placing solar farms and wind farms everywhere will take up space. Which means that you have to live in a pod, and there's no space for farm animals, so you have to eat bugs. You, not the elites.
Because their goal is negative GDP and destroying human development and growth.
They hate humans and human civilization. They worship "nature" and the non-human "natural" world and despise things like roads and farms and the spread of cities encroaching on their beloved "mother nature".
As absolutely retarded as that is, it is pervasive across cultures. Self-hating humans are a real thing.
That's the dumb people though. That's not an explanation for why the regime is pushing it. Just like the dumb people reason for supporting Ukraine is "aww... poor innocent people", and the regime has totally different motivations.
Well, I hate other humans. Not sure if that counts.
Lots of elites see humans as a cancer on the planet, and want to shut down human consumption and development as some kind of threat to the natural world. And yes, a lot of elites are crazy/stupid and believe whacked out shit. Look at how many are Leftists.
Let me just say that if you think elites are smarter or somehow playing 4d chess, they aren't. Elites are just normal people who either got lucky and born into money, or they happened to be good at 1 thing and are retards in most everything else (Kanye being an extreme example). Joe Biden is POTUS and we can both agree he's a retard. Kamala is also clearly stupid. Elites can be impressionable and manipulated and indoctrinated just like anyone else. Sure some are smarter than others, but there are no 4d chess geniuses behind the scenes ruling the world in a secret group.
As you have said before, obviously they would grant exceptions to themselves and their elite friends, they just want to shut down the consumerism and development of "the masses".
They don't care about "the natural world", except insofar that they enjoy being in nature and they don't think that the living standards of the swinish multitude justifies a diminution of their own pleasures. They do not regard "humans" as a cancer, they regard other people as a cancer. The non-elites.
Oh, I definitely don't think they're very smart. It's just that there is one set of reasons that they have for stuff, and another that they sell to the populace. "Your living standards need to decrease so that we have higher standard relative to you" isn't going to cut it, so they invent phony narratives.
Elites are the most immoral and unscrupulous people around, which is how they got to be elites. Even if they inherited wealth, they also inherited the immoral and unscrupulous genes from the people who got to where they were by nefarious means.
As if they have any actual power. They are but pawns of the elites, as "leaders" everywhere are. You yourself pointed out that Putin is constrained by elite opinion. And that's a "dictator"! How much more would that be true in a "democracy".
I'm not asserting any 'secret group'. Fact is that if you have money, then you have power. Fact is that lobbies, MNOs and NGOs have a lot of power. Fact is that the interests of these people differ markedly from ours.
And preferably have a regression in living standards. There is a quote in Nineteen Eighty Four where Orwell says that Inner Party members did not have great living standards, but that because everyone else was miserable, even small comforts granted all the more social standing.
Exactly, I do think that we do influence it in some way but the hysteria is ridiculous and the solutions are extreme and suspiciously involve taking away your freedom and put it in the hands of elites.
Amen to that. How is your church life?
Going well, I'm glad I took this step. My only regret is not doing it sooner. I'm still moving back and forth between 2 churches :)) but that is just because I like both of them.
I can tell you more about it but it would be very corny. At the very least it is the best treatment for depression.
I'm still learning about the Bible, I like some parts, some I don't get and I still have a lot to read. I feel a bit overwhelmed sometimes but it is good.
Thank you for guiding me.
Great to hear! I’ll keep praying for you and your family.
This is because they've pivoted to the vague, nebulous term of "climate change" where any basic example of entropy is labeled a doomsday scenario. Like, no fucking shit the climate changes. Fucking food rots if you leave it out long enough.
This is precisely the hypocrisy that made me start questioning the CO2 narrative to begin with.
All of these fuckers that are so passionate about how important it is clearly don't understand what they're talking about.
or volcanoes
And yet, at the same time, give condescending "weather isn't climate" lectures to everybody else who tries that trick...
It's a lot of bollocks, the Earth naturally has rises and lowers in temperatures affected by events in space that have more impact than anything short of nuking ourselves can do.
The only point environmentalists MIGHT have had is waste management and energy efficiency but those have gone by the wayside as they don't allow for enough authoritarianism
What do you mean by waste management? I'm very close to coming to the conclusion that all recycling is a scam too. Not sure if you mean that or industrial waste or (specific to this topic) carbon capture.
Waste management in urban areas more than anything, a lot of the lazy fucks in cities don't even bother throwing their trash into bins, just drop it on the floor or out the window.
That gets carried in the wind and pollutes the rural areas where they DO clean up after themselves. Landfill is more organised and environmentally safe than cities are.
Ah ok, just collecting trash then. Yet another reason we need to wall off the cities. Though around here there's a lake that Mexicans go to every year and they always leave the whole area covered in trash.
Literally just stop throwing your garbage on the side of the highway.
glass and aluminum are basically infinitely recyclable. paper is heavily recyclable. everything should be packaged in one of these three. plastic reserved only for things that require vacuum/airtight seals for freshness.
The best way to recycle glass is to dump it in your local subduction zone. It's more energy intensive to recycle glass than it is to make new glass.
you just wash it or melt it down what's so energy intensive about that
the crushing, sand is already crushed.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to just clean it out and re use it than recycle? I'm just thinking about glass bottles like some drinks companies use, if you could just hand them back for small change and then all they need to do is clean them then they can re use then, that's probably an easier process.
Environmentalist: visible confusion
That graph of CO2 emissions says that this is "Per capita". Considering that there is over a billion people living in both China and India, that both countries are far more dense than any of the other countries mentioned, should make you realize just how much carbon dioxyde emissions have increased in the past few years, with minimal to no impact on the average yearly temperature. Far more than the curves on this graph would suggest.
The "greenhouse gas causes global warming" theory is conclusively wrong. The fact that no model based on this theory has been accurate for over two decades should have made this obvious, but there is now unmistakable evidence that it is not an accurate indicator of future temperature trends.
Anyone who still says otherwise is either uninformed, or is pushing an agenda.
Regular reminder that record temperature highs peaked in most states around 1930-1950. Despite the fact that the "averages" are constantly increasing, those records have remained.
But the man in the TV said if we all eat ze bugs the weather will get better...
What the hell is La Nina? Is it the politically correct term for El Nino?
la nina is just the opposite part of the cycle from the more famous el nino.
"The El Niño–Southern Oscillation is a single climate phenomenon that periodically fluctuates between three phases: Neutral, La Niña or El Niño.[4] La Niña and El Niño are opposite phases which require certain changes to take place in both the ocean and the atmosphere before an event is declared... During the development of El Niño, rainfall develops between September–November.[1] The cool phase of ENSO is Spanish: La Niña, lit. 'The Girl', with SSTs in the eastern Pacific below average, and air pressure high in the eastern Pacific and low in the western Pacific. The ENSO cycle, including both El Niño and La Niña, causes global changes in temperature and rainfall."
